She is right. Only sometimes I find one that are ripen. The yellow color whether it is light or more Yellow, it is sure to get ripen in a few days. I had 2 a week old now. They did not smells. All that she said is true. Green at where the Stem mean it was just picked. Old dried at the base & a light yellow color is how you want to pick it. Honeydew can be picked when it is ripen. For farmers this is one plant that you do not want to pick it when it is not ripened. Even when sat in the stores for days, it still will not rotten. The shape round has nothing to do with wether it is ripen or not.
Actually, wrong. A honeydew is ripe when it’s creamy yellow white, no green hues. It has to be smooth skin and not textured. You are right about the ends though. No green and has to have some give, The smell taste too.
I will try some of these tips one more last time. I have yet to buy a completely ripped melon. I just stopped buying them. I've even put them in brown paper bag and let them sit for days and it still didn't rippen.
