    I love that your duck has a squeaky toy. It was great to hear him playing. Thanks for the tips on melon ripeness. I didn’t have a clue about the honeydew and have eaten a lot of bad honeydews. Now I know what to look for. Thanks for saving me from bad melons.

    Thank you so much. Really. I watched several videos and I still wasn’t sure. The fact you explained everything and told us about how long and what to look for was excellent 👏👏. I wouldn’t have thought 8 was still ok to wait until. Now I know.
    Just loved the video.
    Again thank you

    • @ChefMikeP
      @ChefMikeP  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Shelly- when I lived in Florida, with my ex-wife, we had a pair of Peking Ducks as pets. We needed a vet to take a look at one of them and I made several phone calls asking different vet offices if they could treat a duck. After six or seven calls I finally got one that seemed able to do the job. The receptionist asked me a few questions and we chatted back-and-forth for about five minutes when she asked me what breed is the dog. I realize then she didn’t understand my initial question so I said exactly what I should say to you now: “the animal is a duck!“

    • @ChefMikeP
      @ChefMikeP  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Karene. In some cases, the flavor has been bred out of newer hybrids in favor of higher yields, larger size, and better bruise resistance in shipping. Try buying from small growers at farmers markets. I solve it partially by growing some of my own fruit and vegetables.
