It's not range anxiety, it's charging anxiety.

When you have to replace the EVs battery at a cost $14,000+ or you just have a paper weight.

Exactly. In January was renting a car online for a wedding outside New Orleans. Near the end of the reservation process, I was offered a 35% discount if I switched to an EV. No thanks; I have no idea how long it will take me to charge the vehicle, where I can charge it, prior to taking my flight. The map of charging stations was not rich with options and there are so many complaints about chargers being out of service. Gas stations are ubiquitous.

Dealers have been a headache for manufacturers for quite some time now, it has nothing to do with EVs. It has everything to do on how Tesla sells directly to consumers, simplifies paperwork, has a full online purchase and owns his service centers.
It is a model manufacturers are on their way to copy and can't wait to get rid of the middleman.

    1. During covid getting gas cars was impossible. 2. You have no way of judging the value of a used EV, that is, how much battery life remains. 3. All repairs of EVs are with dealers, not independent repair shops, so repair costs are much higher. 4. Much less parts, simple engine, hey charge double to triple the price of a gas car. 5. Doesn't work in the mountain West. Doesn't work offroading. Serious problems getting wet so don't haul a boat. So it is a niche use car. Well, they can't haul anything anyway. 6. Make is smaller to get more range. Yeah, just give us a bicycle then as we already have small enough. 7. Ah, interest rates through the roof. 8. Insurance costs through the roof. You hit the Tesla frame, just scrap it. You hit the battery just scrap it. 9. Here in CA the disabled parking is used for EV charging parking slots. What could go wrong? Oh yeah, lots of disabled people gas cars in those charging slots.

Nothing says "I am a slave to marketing" like sitting in a random parking lot waiting for a charger and then waiting 30-60 minutes to charge.

EV are good on paper. but i'm willing to bet my left nut that ICE running on synthetic fuel is going to be the future. it would be much more practical if we focus on carbon capture and turn that into fuel than switch to EV. we have the infrastructure and product already compatible with synthetic fuel all we need is increase production to lower the cost

From the Australian point of view this sort of thing doesn't happen in Australia there are no Holden dealerships Ford only sell the European built Fords all petrol and diesel and of course Toyota dealerships the busiest in the country sell petrol and diesel and sell in probably small numbers the Toyota EV as you can see there is no mandate with selling EVs no fines involving selling a certain number of EVs well with the EVs short lifespan for Australia Australians like to keep there vehicles a long time and of course the biggest selling brand is Toyota which have the rock solid reputation for longevity and reliability

@@steven4315 as far as electricity production goes solar panels are not to bad they just take up to much space for the output wind turbines kill of migrating animals that rely on soar and magnetic fields to navigate as far as the EMF produced from wind turbines man can not feel them but animals can just look at how fish in 2,000 mts depth can feel the barometric pressure by 0.001 atmospheres or bars. man has know hope of feeling that min change the pressure at 2.000 mts depth is approximately 200 atmospheres That's a lot of pressure! Most organisms with gas-filled spaces (like humans) would be crushed by the pressures that other deep-sea life experience.so we have limited chooses either oil that makes greenhouse gasses or electricity and stuff up the natural food chain or we could plant out a few deserts and clean the gasses up a bit so from a logical way of looking at the big piture man is stuffed no matter what electricity made from water turbines on rivers may help and solar panels on every roof as its pointless taking farm land .If the world governments were serious about fixing the problem they would put solar panels on every house for free instead of wasting money on wind turbines that have been proven to be inefficient it's all jus a money grab

@@lesklower7281 You are assuming CO2 is all that matters. Emissions from old autos are often very high even when well maintained. Particulates and nitrogen oxides are two of them. I get why you drive an old auto and since they don't salt the roads in Australia I'm sure your Hilux will last many years but it is a heavy polluter. No judgement, in your shoes I'd do the same thing.

Am I supposed to feel sorry for car dealers? Think of all the terrible experiences you have had buying a car from a dealer. Direct sales from the manufacturer are probably a better way to go; dealers brought this on themselves. EV’s are not ready for mass adoption yet. However as the technology evolves and the charging network is improved, they will displace ICE vehicles, just not anywhere near as fast as some thought a few years ago. Quality ICE vehicles last a very long time if maintained, so the electrification of the fleet will be slow, especially since car prices are so high.

More AI click-bait blather funded by the legacy auto makers. You can order a Tesla on your phone and have it delivered to your home.....and never have to darken the door of a predatory dealership. The maintenance schedule of your new car will be 1) top up the windshield washer fluid, 2) change the cabin air filter, and 3) rotate the tires. We've been slaves to planned obsolescence all these years. The goofy thing is that so many think that's OK because of their EV derangement syndrome (it was hybrids derangement syndrome not so many years ago).
