I was sitting with my girlfriend on Mustang beach Corpus Christi Tx when a chipmunk climbed up into my lap, curled up, and just went to sleep in my lap. Best vacation ever.

The things that really matter are moments like this. The world doesn't exist for a few minutes because you are connected to another life and you get relief from all that is bad just for a moment, but that moment gives you a sense of relief and therefore you are able to deal with more a little bit better.
As a kid our family went to Killbear provincial park camping…back in the 70’s. Chipmunks were everywhere and we used to feed them peanuts like this. This is a great video…bring back lots of memories. Thanks for posting.
Used to play a game while camping called Chipmunk Roulette. You take your shoes off and put a peanut between each toe, then wait. First one to laugh or jump, loses.
I can tell there is mutual respect between the pair of you. Sharing space and food based on equality and integrity is such a beautiful experience! I have shared a meal this way with a wasp in Taizé. I'll never forget that day ❤
That is absolutely delightful!! 😀 Living in Australia, I never realised that these litle creatures were so tiny, always imagining them to be about the size of a squirrel (which we don't get here either). I s'pose I'll just have to accept living with koalas, 'roos and wallabies. 🙂
I am delighted to tell you that my Chipmunks in my front yard have been eating out of my hand and so has a squirrel with no tail super excited about it I won't be recording my interactions cuz that's your thing but just wanted to say it brings me so much joy and I love interacting with my little friends out here in nature much love to you sir
I watch some chipmunks in my yard from my window. They are so cute and also little spazes. Too bad they can't be bred with the demeanor of Guinea Pigs so you can keep them as pets.
Yeah the little shts are cute , but they like eating and storing acorns in my engine of my pickup, and then they proceed to eat the wire coating and cost me 400.00 to fix .
In my six decades on this planet, I’ve never gotten a chipmunk to get near me. Urban squirrels, yes. But never a chipmunk. You must have a great vibe!

Many people do keep them as pets. Like hamsters or gerbils. But it's illegal here in NY
