I'm so happy that you're happy! I've told you this before, but it needs to be said again. You literally saved my life. I needed ECT, but was too afraid. Your videos calmed me down and enabled me to go through with the treatments. Life is so much easier now. I still get depressed, but it might last for an afternoon instead of months. If it weren't for the ECT, I wouldn't be alive today. I am so grateful to you, and thank you for your courage. Wishing you all the best!

Melissa, thank you so much for your kind words. I am so glad to hear that you are doing so much better! I still have my days where I'm depressed but you're so right; it's nothing like it used to be when it would go for months and months. I am so thrilled that the ECT was able to work for you and change your life for the better! Your support means the world to me and thank you for taking the time to send me these encouraging words. All the best to you my dear!

    Thanks for the update.
Yes, victories are oftentimes measured in the smallest of fractions at times. I heard a saying that went, "If you are constantly taking personal inventory, you are suffering from guilt. If you are constantly comparing yourself to others, you are suffering from shame." One of the best books I've read is: "Healing the Shame that Binds You" by John Bradshaw. It helped me a lot and some of the aforementioned principles are something I have to keep in mind when I come up against those who are younger, faster, stronger and so on. In reality, we don't have to compare ourselves to anyone, anywhere at any time. And, even if I do, I have to realize the world really doesn't care good or bad anyway. It's much more important what I think of me.

I would also recommend some of the writings of Alice Miller (i.e."Thou Shalt Not Be Aware") if you would like some ideas of how we are truly products of our environment. The WAY we think governs a lot of WHAT we think. As she states, "...for there are many who were (and are) forced to die a martyr's death because they refused to accept the prevailing standards of society and instead remained loyal to the truth (and thus to themselves). As with Gulliver, lilliputians (and other "little people) can tie you down with a lot of their little ropes...strings by comparison. What strings bind us?

Thanks for the update. You're such an inspiration. I too struggle with motivation. You're right though, setting small goals and meeting them is key. Even if it's brush my teeth and walk the dog, the only thing that matters is I did it. I also struggle with beating myself up and being too hard on myself when I don't meet goals, which I'm working on.
    Keep up the good work!

It might help -possiblyt-to try energy supplements -B12 (there are very few side effects from even a high B12 dose) COQ10, B Complex, even cheap energy drinks
(powdered). as alternatives to ADs I work in the pharm industry-chemo only-and one of the problems with most drugs and some procedures is overkill + sometimes even unknown side effects. You should have absolutely nothing to be depressed about even if you don't have money-there are so many fat ugly mean, miserable women with bad personalities running around and you are none of these.
