    I couldn't get on the GT4RS list ... but I do have a GT4 on the way, so I'm really pumped to follow this series.

      The GT4 is one of the most well rounded street and track cars ever made, I think you’ll be really happy with it. And it’s essentially 1/2 the price of an RS in the real world so the value for money is probably higher. Picking up the RS soon though to find out for sure!

    Just found your channel and I have the same color GT4 as you have in this video. I love the car and feel like it is a lot more nimble out of the box than a 992 S. It is super fun with the 6MT which is the best MT in the business. I’m not a huge track guy so I’ve left it stock but I enjoyed learning about what you did to get yours more track focused. Thanks for the content!

    Nice! Short gearing is the single most important mod. I recommend the Ninemeister lightweight flywheel, it's 45% lighter with incredibly low inertia without downsides

      Thanks for the Sub! You will love the GT4 so much, I can’t recommend it enough. As a street car and even in PDK it’s near perfect. One of the best dual clutch transmissions ever. I hope you get one and please share if you do! Do you think you’ll ever track it?

    Nice build and vids. I have a 2020 718 GT4 w/ Soul Race Exhaust (i.e., OAPs and back box; didn't change yet to Comp headers). What a massive difference in sound and a little more power. Next up though is BBi's StreetCup Harness Bar, which I believe is what you have right? Basically, BBI's GT4 RS StreetCup Harness Bar I'm guessing that also fits the 982 (or 718). How was the install? And what did you end up using to trim the holes for the bar mounts. Feel free to private DM me if that works best to discuss as I'd like your feedback.

    Just got a gt4 this summer. Came with a similar Soul exhaust over axle which sounds AMAZING. I really do feel like I need to make some alignment changes after doing my first autocross with it though. The goal is to do as much track and autocross as I can. What alignment did you go with with camber etc?

      @Car Honey I was given the opportunity to drive a full bolt on modded 911 Turbo last week, and it was fast faster than my Ferrari 458. But I didn't care for the handling when comparing the 2. someone suggested, I try a gt 3 or 4.

    Any recent mods to the gt4? Perhaps headers?
    How does shove out of (street) corners in 2nd gear (with the regear) compare to the gt4 rs?
    That’s my biggest complaint with my gt4 (with stock gearing).
    Wondering if the regear helps with that enough or if I should get a different car!

    really like the mods on this GT4, The exhaust sounds so much better! Can I ask how much the breaks swap cost you, as I am potentially looking at doing something similar with my PCCBs

    • @rennsportfred
      @rennsportfred ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, is the only thing you changed on the exhaust the OAPs? it sounds sooo much better than my UK GT4!

    • @carhoney
      @carhoney  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah just the competition OAP’e from Soul! I found a used PFC Clubsport brake kit for $10k however, the only rims that clear the calipers on depth is the Apex EC-7R or the BBS clubsport rims. But the apex rims are discontinued and the BBS are like $3k a rim. I would go AP racing slotted kit and 19x9 rims in front and 19x10.5 in rear. That’ll give you a ton of good tire options and you won’t have to change much in the rear to make the rims fit

    • @rennsportfred
      @rennsportfred ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carhoney Thanks for getting back to me, it’s much appreciated! I’ve got an AP racing set up on my MK7 Golf R track car so know they’re quite good! Just as a side thought, at that price, have you ever thought about swapping the PCCBs with a set of surface transforms carbon ceramics discs? Quite a few people over here do that instead of swapping to steels, as the discs can be refinished a few times before having to be replaced. No experience personally, but people over here swear by them. Don’t know what it’s like over in the states

    • @carhoney
      @carhoney  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is definitely aggressive but really enjoyable, especially with the stock engine power. Are you getting PDK or manual? You probably know this but the PDK gearing is much shorter than manual as stock.

    How about weight reduction on these beautiful Porsches? It's always about racking up more horsepower, but why not investigate dumping some of those unnecessary items that add weight to a vehicle, but are not pertinent to it's fundamental operation? More performance on all levels all while retaining the original reliability. I am a big fan of Porsche's move to this beautiful mid-engined architecture found in the Caymen. A great car indeed. :)
