  • OK, here it is finally. Sorry for the false start yesterday- I had to boost levels and I boosted them so much that I screwed up audio at the start.
Wow, what a fun event Monday night. Huge thanks to KVIE for hosting this- they know how to put on a party! The movie was shown first and then Fanny came out and played... for 80 MINUTES. I have been to these "movie and performance" things before, and the standard seems to be a quick 30min set. Nope, we got a full Fanny set. It was a BLAST! I talked Patti Quatro after the show and she said they were running on pure adrenaline, and this was the last (and best performance) of a screening/performance tour.
OK, on to the video. As usual, I had some issues. I figured that I would be able to get my camera and Schoeps audio setup ready while they rolled the credits, but the band hopped on stage and started playing pretty much immediately after the movie ended. It was dark and I was fumbling with the gear and I could NOT find my digitial recorder. I just plugged the mics into the camera and (thankfully) it turned out really great. Big shout out to Keith Krider for selling me these Schoeps mics. Could not love them more.
    Recorded by: Shayne Stacy
Equipment used: Panasonic Lumix GH5S, Lumix G Vario 14-140mm, F3.5-5.6 Power O.I.S. Lens
Audio equipment: Schoeps CCM4 mics, Naiant Tinybox preamp lined into the GH5S.

June, the guitarist/singer/songwriter I absolutely LOVED back in the Fanny days. Seeing you "live": in the wonderful video confirms all of the reasons that I was so fond of you. You and the band are too good for today's kids who enjoy hip-hop. I love seeing Jean out there. Thanks for putting this video out. This is a great band..

Unfortunately, kids have been enjoying hip hop for 30+ years. We dumbed down.

A fan since I was 14. That was in 1972. I am 65 now and have yet to see a band with a more solid body of work or one that could be as explosive on stage as this one is and was. Their intensity set the stage on fire and set the bar as well. Loved the documentary and their last album as a power trio. Don't ever stop.

I remember Fanny when they were guests on a couple of shows on tv in early 70s, I was maybe 7. I loved the music back in the day, wish we could turn the clock back and stay.

@Into_the_void64 In 76 I got a new car and had to put a tape deck in the car. They were the first 8 track in my car. I'd drive down the street blaring their music. Back then you got into trouble for too loud of music- I didn't care, it was Fanny.

I’ve been listening to them since 2019, I’m a much younger fan and discovered Fanny on TH-cam. This is so cool to see that they are back together and still rockin’ out! Jean went from a rockin’ chick to a sweet grandma. Hope she is recovering well! Great to see her try and sing the “I’m ready” part in Charity Ball. Love the Fannies!!

Same question from me. I recognize June, Jean, and Alice... I assume that is Brie on secondary percussion and Jean's son (Lee?) on bass. Patti Quatro on 2nd guitar? Someone called Mia (Millington? Jean's daughter?) on the other bass. How'd I do? Do I win a prize?

Wow such a classy backdrop. The curtain really fits the groovy songs. It's good people are into this band. In the 1990's mass culture brainwashed everyone to throw away their records to keep buying into CD's (and later streaming). I found some good one's cheap or free--today that would be in the $30 range. Sad. Anyways lovers of the Fanny would keep it shaking with the split record with the New Haven Women's Liberation Band and the Chicago Women's Liberation Band. Mouthful of a name but the music as good as it is here. Also the 70's band called "Isis"--also a winner in the soul rock boogie woogie. People might get caught up in the present-day association name wise with the terrorist group. But really capitalism is the real terrorism.
This concert is aided by the between songs talks. Such love between the audience and the band where there is no impatience that sometimes you see where idiots have a "Shut up and play" mentality. Though sadly the sound here sucks. Wish you could do subtitles on some of what's said. A bunch of it is lost

She is hopefully enjoying her own reality away from the business that failed to recognize her obvious gifts as a songwriter and performer. The incredibly tight live band of 1971-'73 is 50+ years ago and preserved in some wonderful video and audio clips. There is no need for Barclay to retread old ground that she perfected half a century ago.

_Fifty years after Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza Strip, it controls these areas through repression, institutionalized discrimination, and systematic abuses of the Palestinian population’s rights, Human Rights Watch said today. At least five categories of major violations of international human rights law and humanitarian law characterize the occupation: unlawful killings; forced displacement; abusive detention; the closure of the Gaza Strip and other unjustified restrictions on movement; and the development of settlements, along with the accompanying discriminatory policies that disadvantage Palestinians._

There was just WAY too much talent to compete with at the time and I don't think it had anything to do with them being female at all; everyone agrees they rock the fuck out but then so did everyone else at the same time.
