  • Classic Legends has brought the iconic Yezdi name back to life with three new bikes. With its first adventure bike, which is simply called the Adventure, Yezdi wants to hit the Royal Enfield Himalayan right where it hurts. It packs a more sophisticated liquid-cooled engine and a six-speed gearbox. It has near-identical hardware and specs as the Himalayan. So, has Yezdi made the better Himalayan?

    It may be a particular bike issue, or paid review idk,
    I testdrove yezdi thrice, even once in highway it maxedout at 148kmph and even at that point, there isn't a single vibration and much rev happy nature engine. It can easily cruise at 120 to 135 kmph. I drove also himalayan, it maxedout at 130 and max cruise speed limit is 100, that's it beyond that there is a hell lot of vibrations .
    Never expected this kind of review from zigwheels and karthickeya.U guys both the brand are willing to give their bike for test drives, go and test drive it , u will feel the difference

    I never owned Himalayan, but had a relatively long ride on it to make my decision between RE n Yezdi..
    Refinement levels are much better on yezdi( one whose engine is not yet broke in)
    Acceleration of yezdi was much quicker and came with much ease than RE
    Suspension is bit more softer in RE
    And I am amazed to see Karthik saying Himalayan is well built even after having multiple examples of it being split into two pieces even on normal tarmac..!
    Also 40-100 in top gear comparo- yezdi is in overdrive gear(6th) and RE in 5th bro..!
    I now own first adv of Karnataka and I find it very good, being a person with L4/L5/ L6 disc prolapse for 31 years..! I had to sell my D400 for it's ergonomics and suspension set up within 2 months of purchase.
    Also I could see 3 himalayan owners coming and booking for yezdi on the day of delivery.

    The refinement levels of adventure are by far much better than Himalayan. I just took my second test ride just to confirm this. First people used to say Himalayan lacks that cruising ability . And it’s not that powerful to tour . I have personally ridden Himalayan on long rides . Post 100 its a struggle for sure . People said it had to go on a diet to loose its weight 🤭 . And another thing is Himalayan’s gear ratio is tall . And the engine is built that way by the makers . The head Himalayan exhibits during long rides would leave scars on your legs if you don’t wear riding pants on long rides . Himalayan’s most renowned cone set issue is still not rectified by the makers . Finding Himalayan’s tyre’s in the market now is becoming challenging .
    But trust me it’s a benchmark machine that RE made . But I personally know it has issues .
    Now when you get a better product in the market . You shouldn’t degrade it . You have a alternative now . If you had ridden jawa 42 you would know the gearing ratio too . Plus you won’t feel the heat because it’s a liquid cooled engine . When yezdi’s engine of 350 cc with its bore length is producing so much power technically you should know the con’s . You cannot call it con’s because with single cylinder and bs6 restrictions your options would be less . Still it’s producing good power .
    And last about the price - liquid cooled , USB feature , no additional cost apps , more power , abs modes , brisk brakes .
    I think it’s a bet for money ..

      @@Agasthiyappan Yes we do have a solution after market . My point was it was not rectified by RE even during the Himalayan’s launch with the tripper thing . The makers should listen to the customers . That’s how you make better products .

    • @saintofall3653
      @saintofall3653 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem is that Yezdi's adventure bike isn't really good at being an adventure bike or a tourer. Sure, it's better in many aspects, but it fails at the main things that make a bike.
      It's design is also not that distinctive. To replace a market leader, you should either be way better or very distinctive. This bike is neither. The reviewers are right. The bike has the potential to be all that. But not this day

    • @sameerm6609
      @sameerm6609 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saintofall3653 I don’t think himalayan outperforms too . 5-6 years of being in the market nothing has changed other than navigation . Now there is a competition for the Himalayan. It has to up its game . I don’t understand what else would you need in a sub 2.7 lakh machine ? Ride by wire ? Tubeless spoke wheels ? ( tubeless spoked wheel is a complicated thing most of it is patented by larger brands ) if you go for it obviously there will be a tremendous price hike . I personally prefer spoked one for an adventure . I have been there and done that . The after market liquids will save you from unexpected punctures ( to an extent ) . The suspension part of yezdi is a brilliant one when you load your luggage and tour . I didn’t find any issues in the suspension part . Only 5% of this machine will be used for OFF-ROAD rest 90% will be on the Tarmacs . It has good power and response , luggage carrying capacity and it can do off-roads during your adventure journey too . For me after being riding on both the saddle . Especially himalayan I have ridden that during long rides . For me I think yezdi has filled the space . And Himalayan’s brakes even after the upgrade is not something a 6 year old experienced R&D team should have put out .
      Just wait for the Himalayan SCRAM and let’s see what Royal Enfield comes up new after 6 years of experienced Himalayan . I am eagerly waiting to see if the baby Himalayan will have some thing really new after 6 years of feedback from its customers .

    Given a choice between the two, i would choose to put the money in the bank instead. The Jawa bikes had quality issued which were only rectified a year ago. So i assume the same from Yezdi as its new and new vehicles will have issues that will be fixed down the line. Himalayan on the other hand, I have ridden and honestly loved it. But from the chassis breaking stories i can only assume the quality isnt consistent and chassis breaking isnt something you can ignore. Funnily i have seen the 650 being absolutely abused and thrashed with serious jumps on hard surfaces, rivers and what not and the chassis has held up without any issues. The funnier part is that the 650 isnt even a scrambler let alone a Adv. Hopefully RE will fix that with the new 450.
    But if a gun was held to my head and i was forced to select one, i would go with Himalayan cuz a known devil is better than an unknown angel.

    • @iflyon2wheels
      @iflyon2wheels 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      650 chassis is a roadster chassis. And these are the choice for scrambler chassis. And scramblers are more hardcore than ADV. Few people know that. Advs were designed to tour with off roading. Scramblers were built to go off roads only. The scramblers we see today are mostly classic money suckers and soft roaders.

    Hello Kartikey and Jehan,
    This afternoon I took short test ride of Yezdi adventure.
    My two cents.
    Seat height is Slightly taller than Himalayan
    Gears are too closely placed, you have to change them continuously.
    Say you are in 3rd gear at 32kmph you have to shift to 2nd the moment you go below 30 kmph.
    40 or 50 kmph is not possible in 5th gear..... If you are lugging there is knocking sound from engine.
    Slight heating is felt near rear brake lever.
    Brakes are very good.
    Suspension is firm (not hard) but not pliant like Himalayan.
    20 to 30 days delivery after booking, around 2.5 lakhs OTR.
    Engine is rev happy and throttle needs to be twisted to get the power , slight buzz and vibrations are felt after 4000 rpm.
    Clutch is very tight and grips have bulge in the centre which makes your left palm and fingers pain after constant gear changes.
    Ergonomically Himalayan is better

      I too am plagued with this observation ever since I have seen the bike. I remember so far from all the videos on the Yezdi that I have watched, Dino's vault pointed out that the rear suspension happens to be lower than the the bike underbody. I don't know if that would be a concern in the real world. Also, we don't know where the 220mm of ground clearance is measured from, so we won't know how much clearance is there between the suspension and the ground.

      Clearly ZW wants you to buy Himalayan, according to them Yezdi doesn't considered as an option... Better test ride one more time and figure out yourself

      If you take a closer look, Himalayan also has this exact same rear suspension. Only difference? RE rear suspension is hidden in between center stand, whereas Yezdi doesn't have a center stand and that's why it looks like that..

    Built Quality, Finishing Quality, Looks and Aggression, Road Impression etc..in every way YEZDI beats Himalayan. Now Himalayan has got a real competition, Himalayan days will be gone in sometime if Royal Enfield doesn't upgrade and modify its Himalayan series! Only changing colors won't attract Himalayan anymore from now, It's YEZDI who brought Revolution over REs dominance in midrange adventure touring motorcycle, Thanks to YEZDI.

    how much money you got from Royal Enfield?
    60-100 do at same gear in both bike. in yezdi its 6th and himalaya it was 5th.

    I can smell biasness here Yezdi Adventure is just born and Himalayan Launched back in 2015-16 there's already lots of refinement r&d involved in current Himalayan. But Yezdi adventure just launched now and I'm sure in next 2-3 years they'll upgrade and sort out the problem faced by owners (if any).

    Refinement level really ...RE more refined !!!? Don't think so adv is much more refined and revs more freely than RE. I have an RE so I know what difference it is. RE scores only with low end torque which sometimes is used in case doing a lil bit of off road.
    Clearly bavaji is so depressed and unhappy with Yezdi.

      Yezdi adv can make 29 nm of torque at 6500rpm, Himalayan makes 32 at 4000rpm. The motor that delivers easy power is called revv free not the one that you have to revv until it's puny piston fries up. Stop being a government employee and do somethings on your own. Spoonfed you old man

    u r comparing 6th gear yezdi acceleration with 5th gear himalayan that too in a specific scenario of 60-100 and making a big deal of that 1 sec gap whereas yezdi has beaten it in all other case scenarios. yet they don't matter and this does. Nice!
