But these comes under same catagory that why I have given a mild comparison coz I do agree Himalayan can excel this one in Hardcore off-roading but in India most of the people use these machines for long rides and very mild off roading in which both the bikes are equally capable.
You cannot compare this bike with RE. Its a Honda, that itself speaks volumes about the quality. The engine performance, the build quality, the durability and reliability will be much much better that an RE. Although I do agree its a little expensive. But comparing them due to the category is like comparing a Versys 650 with a Meteor 650, obviously the Versys is expensive, but it's light years better than RE.
Himalayan 450 anyday! For below reasons: 1. Service network in every corner of India 2. Simple and easy to maintain 3. Better ergonomics and touring comfort 4. Better value for money 5. Proper adventure tourer Himalayan has it's downsides too, fit and finish, Quality but it is still a better value for money preposition. Himalayan 450 is more than enough for touring and off-roading in India!

nope. it is a single cylinder ktm. This has got more power, more refinement, twin cylinders, more reliable, better safety systems etc. The honda is a much better built bike overall.

Good walk around and good review. Keep up the good work. But price should be an issue while comparing bikes, though they come close to cc capacity and ADV, Himalayan and NX500 is not in the same category. I think Honda is trying to meet the gap of price between Himalayan buyer and Versys buyer.
The first question is how come 6.7 Lakh bikes can be compared with 3 lakh priced bikes? Second it's a twin cylinder. Third NX500 comes under bigwing which is I am sure not easy to maintain economically.
So first of all pricing is not the point to start comparing, it is the Engine both are under 500cc ADV motorcycle so thats why these falls under same catagory, Secondly its an advantage to that Honda is a 2 cylinder but a minus point that it is costly. But the comparison between the 2 is fair enough!

Aprillia showed us how reasonable a twin 457 can be priced if made in India. Honda should stop acting cheap and start making Bigger capacity bikes in India. A lot of Xpulse Guys and even HIM452 will jump to buy a CRF-300 in a blink of an eye. Importing CBU under 800 cc should be banned and complusoy be produced in India. Get the liter class and above as CBU. For a country that indigenously produces 2 ltr engines for SUV and cars, why are we lagging in producing performance motorcycles is beyond my comprehension.
This is still a road bike that can go down a slightly muddy dirt road…don’t kid yourself about it being able to go off road. It can’t without major upgrades.
If you put video for NX500 review rather comparing it with H450 then it would make more sense. Himalayan 450 is best in all aspects with the price point and if you compare this bike, compare it with Kawsaki versus. H450 and Nx500 price difference is 2.85L and Kawsaki versus in 1.8lakh higher then NX500. Good walk around though.
It's not a competittor of Himalayan 450 first of all.NX 500 is a entry level superbike & adventure tourer & Himalayan is mainly a off-road bike. Please don't compare these two.

The higher price is due to higher taxation by the government. Moreover it is a parallel twin engine, which is the additional reason for higher taxation. Previously Honda had launched Cb500 x with a price tag of 6.87 lakh (ex-showroom), later it was reduced to 5.79 lakhs. and then discontinued. Now NX 500 has been launched with additional features like dual front disk , traction control, apple car play with navigation and new front with additional 11 k price . So the price is justified. what you get is supreme refinement, reliability and quality service.

You cannot compare a 3 lakhs bike with a 7 lakhs bike. This bike is hugely overpriced. It Honda decreasea the price to 5 lakhs then this might get some buyers.
Honda Engine is very smooth and reliable in the segment, however Honda service center are pathetic with compare all other companies. Honda vehicles only good till you didn't face any issue. Once you encounter any issue then you will facing just excuse from service center and didn't get any solution.

Thats what you need to understand comparison price wise nahi hota sir catagory wise hota hai, both are same catagory bike, Honda has huge price gap that a minus for Honda! But it will get compared to that and it offers 2 cylinder rather than single one in same catagory price to zayada hona hi hai plus CBU unit!
