Wall of text incoming: Everyone always says this is a lame final boss with no connection to the story. I disagree; in fact, I think this is a perfect culmination to Soma's character arc. Pay close attention to the dialogue right before the fight -- "Letting this out would be a disaster. It must end here!" Compare that to Soma throughout most of Aria. He was non-confrontational to a fault; almost all of the story's threats sought him out, rather than the other way around. He was hesitant to fight Graham, even going so far as to offer Graham all of his souls just to avoid an altercation. When Soma fought Chaos at the end of AoS, it was an unavoidable battle; if he didn't kill Chaos, he would've become Dracula completely. He only fought it out of necessity. Here, though, it's made perfectly clear that Soma didn't even have to fight Menace at all. Soma makes it apparent that there's an alternative; he does have the option to simply let it run free. It's completely optional for him to kill this thing. This fight is on his own terms -- he's not fighting it because he was forced to, he's choosing to kill it because he knows that it's the right thing to do. *That's* character development. A lot of people focus so much on the fact that Soma is Dracula's reincarnation that they ignore the other part of his character: the human side. Aria's story was Soma getting rid of Dracula. Dawn's story was Soma getting rid of the weak part of himself.
Menace looks like he could've been a transformation (third & fourth forms) of Death if he were the final boss If that were the case, he would've had an arm scythe instead of the head on his left arm, as well as have scythe/skull attacks
For anyone in modern times struggling with this fight. Me too. But anyway you can use spin devil to finish off the first phase just by standing under it. It’ll blow the curse smoke away and damage menace and you won’t even have to worry about the pillars they won’t hit you.
Well, if you wanna look at them that way. ….but you’re right about them looking like the Langols. It was such a corny movie, that I completely forgot about it. LOL!!!
The part where he sprays the purple gas at you, you can double jump and activate the Medusa soul to stay in midair then keep hitting, this will give you some more time instead of standing and waiting for him to stop Cance
Harmony of Dissonance is kind of a joke, too. Standard Dracula fight and for the second phase he has two attacks that are stupid easy to avoid. Circle of the Moon's final boss is great though, best of the GBA trilogy. Then there's Portrait of Ruin which hands down has the best final boss in the series.
@@Lucols4 It is easy if you have an OP weapon, this guy is tough, but not so much, the problem is those floating enemies, they are very annoying. The times he killed me is because his Sprite covers the entire screen. It is an annoying fight.
@@Laihoard1995 The final boss of Circle of the moon is the most boring and absurdly long fight in the entire franchise, if you don't have the right cards, the guy is impossible to beat, In general I hate the progression system of Circle of the moon, it is based entirely on luck, since it is not clear that monsters give you cards. The same with armor, you only get them from monsters, so there are playthroughs where you are OP and others where you are weak like a fly, that a game forced you to use a guide is simply poor design.
@@ellocojoncrazy3270 I disagree, I think it's a really fun fight and there are a few combinations that work. Card system as a whole isn't great, but the game has a great final boss. There are definitely longer and more boring fights in Castlevania.
Playing in 2024 on the DS collection. Ngl I cheesed the hell outta this guy lol. Just went up and around the room in a clockwise pattern before leaving back down to the floor while hitting one of Menace's weak points a single time in an attack that dealt 51 in damage; rinse, repeat. It honestly took about a half hour for that ending minigame to finally pop up lol.
While this was a disappointing final boss mechanics and attack wise this design gave me nightmares. The body horror is real. Now I can easily shrug it off
with menace i use either an axe or greatsword since you can only hit him once or twice in his true form (and be able to cause damage while hes gassing you)
@FalcisUltima9 I think the difficulty relies on how much time you waste on going through one boss from another, and how many enemies you kill on the way. If you're grinding levels, the bosses will be easy, but going to Menace with level... say... 30? It's a challenge. :y
It was an interesting concept, being a demonic humanoid version of Legion, but it was poorly executed, especially since they just gave it the same AI as the golems. Sad.
that means if soma may not be the next dark lord then alucard has a chance hes not only a vampire but the son of dracula wish he wont be though he one of the badass characters of the series
@CountXDracula not its not the best weapon if its the best wepon it would hit very fast like a light sword and hit hard but its only a hard hitter so its only the strongest not the best also you more damage by attacking it with fast weapon than slow
Gagh. I HATED those flying...things during the Battle with Menace. I think I'll start calling them "Flying Vagina Teeth," since that's what they remind me of.
thank you random floating platforms -all castlevania heroes
Flesh Golem, you say?
They aren't randomly floating, they are very strategically placed.
I the end, it wasn't a Belmont that ensured the permanent end to Dracula's existance, it was an incarnation of Dracula himself.
Tokusatsu Keyblade Until Konami makes a Castlevania game in 2109 xD
“Only my father: Gabriel Belmont, can destroy Dracula”
The one that can end it all is that one that started it. Alpha becomes Omega.
Wasn't it Julius Belmont who permanently sealed Dracula away?
The reincarnation of Dracula is bros with a Belmont
Soma is officially my most favourite Castlevania hero.
Me too
Cause he have power of dominance and he is cool

You only really need Death's Scythe to beat Menace.
It does a lot of damage to the boss AND works great for keeping his Minions out of your face

Yep

This. I use Medusa's head to just float there and tear him with the flame sword
This boss looks absolutely amazing, but it was also disappointing. It should have more abilities, I felt it as a lazy job by the developers.
Yeah, it's one of the easiest final bosses in any game I've played.

Burtgang, Dracula's Tunic, Meg-- something, don't know the name. Guillotiner and Erinys
Megalodon
The fight is easier with the Claim Solais but you have to sacrifice a lot of shitty souls than are too long to capture
Axe is much easier to upgrade, so is Katana
I'm still sad that they changed art styles T_T I really love the old ones since it was done by the same artists from SotN
Thank fuck they realised this for Order of Ecclesia and reverted back to the Gothic style

I always think this was a disappointing final boss.
Chaos is much better.
I like much more menace
prinnyXdood both are great

Chaos was easy tho, i struggled a lot on this boss.

I loved design though. I always use gergoth for the knee part
In my opinion, I kinda wished that Dmitrii somehow managed to use the Power of Dominance
I like the song of final boss, the Castlevania games is so hard for me
But, Arikado is Alucard right?
And Arikado is Alucard's alias then? Just for disguising himself?
to blend in! LMAO
yes
This is like a final boss from the binding of Isaac, sorta like the witness, actually!
No. 92 Flame Demon
No. 94 Arc Demon
No. 102 Demon knight(Shadow Knight)

What the hell. I just beat this boss last night and this video got recommended to me
Like Maoyu,High school DXD
Nice, my favourite weapon of the entire game was the gungnir, mainly becuase of it's laser beam thing. you know when you press O.

lol If that little red head from 1:36 had been on the right side of the screen...

Absolutely loved this game, and then kinda hated it after this boss. It was such a wet fart of an ending.
What is the spirit you equipped (the angel one) that you used on his groin?
Reeve Garrett I think it is the Erinys soul
Man, this dude is SO good at this game 0.o
Dimitri do a terrible thing with Celia, it's really scary
Freddy Kruegger is Menace´s head???
@DeadlyAngelicDemon Those "flying vagina teeth" Remind me of monsters from the movie "The Langoliers"
the boss is really cool and strong, it took me hours to beat it . it is just the player, he is cool
What was your weapon set for the fight
What was your weapon and what was that Valkyrie looking weapon
Galamoth was so hard to destroy, man. I spend hours trying to kill that thing!
This is menance
You forgot to get the thunder cloak didn't you
Ninja Gaiden 4: Dawn of Sorrow
Music is intense.
This would have been a good video if it wasnt the lack of sync, the speed is faster than it should be.
Because the last boss is easy, Gergoth actually alot harder and more annoying.
@TheValiantBob That's part of his clothing.
why did that guy have streamers coming out of his armpits? O.o
when the river's jagged rocks block your path, take the dirt road home
Abbadon bullet soul makes this fight super easy, just spam ur potions/mana prism.
i keep loving how dimitry wip off alucard ... euh sorry ... arikado xD
You are really faster...! Personally, I used buer lvl6 like a shield, with the flyers mouths... And guns to shot the boss, or a long attak...
Am I safe to assume Alucard can transform no more thanks to Dimitri?
@ZSlyzer You mean Megeara?
Those things look kind of like the iron maidens that the Puppet Master used. But then again...that's just me.
How do you get to this boss fight? My Castlevania:dawn of sorrows game ended after the second fight against Dario.
Kage BlackHeart Use the Paranoia Soul to enter the Mirror behind Dario there waits not the final boss but the game won't end after that boss
I dunno why, but 4:05 is hilarious xD
Poor Celia :(
At least she got what she deserved.
well we actually dont see her die. we only heard her scream while she vanished into hell
enter the mirror with the paranoia soul while fighting dario the second time
