In the first phase, you can avoid both the poison and the middle spikes by going to the right, and from there you can _just_ hit the face on his heart with the Claimh Solais special (which does more damage than a normal swing).

Honestly speaking, Menace is the easiest final boss in any of the "Metroidvania"-style Castlevania games.
With the right Soul (Final Guard), it just destroys the difficulty of the fight (even without it, it's still easy).
Dracula in SotN was more difficult (and that was also an easy final boss).
+White Raven Agreed. I believe even castlevania snes dracula is harder (That game is still hard for me).
To be fair, certain builds you can do with Soma break any game he is in. In Aria of Sorrow the Great Minotaur soul (I think, it has been some time) was so devastating it could destroy bosses in mere seconds, and the chaos ring was even more broken in that game.
I disagree. I think Dracula from and Chaos from AoS were easier. With SotN, there are dozens of ways to trivialize pretty much anything, the most famous of which being the Alucard Shield + Shield Rod spell. And for Chaos specifically, you can get all the souls, get the Chaos Ring, and just abuse the Red Minotaur and Alura Une souls. Or you can just spam potions for both cases, because SotN has the Duplicator and AoS 's New Game+ gives you whatever you had when you last saved, not what you had after the battle.
This entire game is baby mode, and mid too, no idea why it even exists

its so funny to me how we went IMMEDIATELY from possibly the hardest and most intense final boss in the series to the lamest not only chronologically but also in terms of release too. like especially considering how great this game's bosses are otherwise and with chaos in mind its so baffling to me how they fumbled the landing so hard with menace.

@@PinBBro gameplay is your average IGAvania, nothing special about it, and it's so easy it's embarrassing (that's not "best balanced" anything, the game is just a cakewalk). And for bosses, disagree for the most part:
-Flying Armor: LOL can't even call that a boss, easiest patterns ever, only two attacks, generic design;
-Balore: massive downgrade from AoS' counterpart, no cool surprise entrance where you thought you were gonna fight other boss, inferior design and arena, no second phase..);
-Dmitry whatever: cringe mediocre design but at least the power copying mechanic was a neat idea;
-Malphas: another joke just like Flying armor (not to mention it's almost a carbon copy of SotN's Malphas);
-Dario: another cringe antagonist, ya punk! And a low tier boss as well, once you figure out how to manip his AI it's game over;
- Puppet Master: hella cool design, uninteresting fight since it relies so much on gimmicks and few attacks;
-Gergoth: extremely cool design (really, one of my favorites) and moveset but did we really have to fight it inside a shoebox?
-Zephyr: cringe garbage Jojo reference, enough said;
-Rahab: literally forgot this boss existed until right now. Cool design, but the fight is full of downtimes and far from thrilling;
-Bat company: decent rework on the recurring giant bat boss, pretty ok I guess;
-Paranoia : Eh, unique design I guess;
-Aguni: cool design and moveset, it deserved a better game to show up in:
-Death: decent design and moveset, like all other cool bosses he suffers from being on a horrendously mediocre game, and got nothing on PoR and OoE's versions of him;
-Abaddon: utter trash, even his counterpart in Curse of the Moon 2 mops the floor with him;
-Menace: LMAO that name gotta be sarcasm, an inside joke.
-Evil Soma: as lazy as it can get. Only uses a tiny portion of his souls, very repetitive patterns and the second phase is just regular lizad Dracula with a few flying worms and a harpy companion. At least the unique boss intros depending on your MC is a nice touch.
In short, mostly mediocre bosses, with the good bosses being held back by a very underwhelming, low effort game, trash writing/plot and awful antagonists, ugly art style... Worse DSVania by far, and my least played for obvious reasons. It there will be a DS collection ever coming out, I wouldnt mind it being left out of it and replaced with SotN

Make sure to have a crap load of boosted luck and soul eater ring. Good luck, it takes alot of patience getting a least 1 Final Guard Soul
I think that soul is in the very top of the castle, they are like valkyries.
Chaos ring.
Use the soul to get death's scythe.
You can get another death soul in new game +.

he has doppelganger. he can switch between 2 sets of souls. One for devil, one for final guard.

@jaytube10663 y'know, im not exactly sure how he did that. it might have something to do with death's robe or dracula's tunic, but none of the souls he had equiped would stop the damage so im confused on that,too. if someone could tell us, that'd be nice.

You get Death's Robe in Boss Rush, I think you have to beat it under 6 minutes or something.

Farm Stolas soul. That adds a lot more Int then Lilith. And have Kaladbolg with the Soul set, that adds an extra 10 int. Plus either Rosary or Chaos Ring :P

It's unrelated to the video but how do you get valmanway
Draconic it is final evolution of shortsword
You can use Yoko's "shop" to combine souls with weapons to synthesize stronger weapons. But the Valmanway takes quite a few souls to get, so here's a list.
Short Sword + Armor Knight = Cutlass
Cutlass + Corpseweed = Long Sword
Long Sword + Great Armor = Fragarach
Fragarach + Mollusca = Hrunting
Fragarach + Treeant = Mystletain
Hrunting + Killer Clown = Joyeuse
Mystletain + Killer Clown = Joyeuse
Joyeuse + Catoblepas = Milican's Sword
Joyeuse + Frozen Shade = Ice Brand
Joyeuse + Ukoback = Laevatain
Milican's Sword + Iron Golem = Burtgang
Ice Brand + Iron Golem = Burtgang
Laevatain + Iron Golem = Burtgang
Burtgang + Arc Demon = Kaladbolg
Kaladbolg + Abaddon = Valmanway
It doesn't matter whether you make the Hrunting or the Mystletain, and it doesn't matter if you make the Milican's Sword, Ice Brand or Laevatain, all the later stages of the weapons will be exactly the same either way.
Okay, so I played dawn of sorrow when it came out and I got all into it and had fun playing it. But you have some shit that I never even knew existed! WTF is the angel thing that your throwing out against menace?
I found this boss to be really puny. I dunno why, I didn't have amazing equipment and all, but I still had no problem with him or his abyss stage. :
It is a little harder; however, you can beat him without the chaos ring (optional item)
yes, im just too lazy grinding all the souls so i tried using every soul i have and finally the Mandragora soul worked very well

Persephone's soul would help with the poison breath, but that's about it.

hugommaes Makes your mp regenerate considerably faster. Where as in Aria of Sorrow it was even better giving you infinite mp

sparten9900 The Demon/Devil soul does not take your stamina/mana but your hp which is why for most of the fight he only had 1Hp

The Commenter Your hp cannot go down even if you are using demon soul. That's why 1hp.

The Devil's soul leaves you with 10 HP or less, 'cause it'd be pretty BS if your own ability could directly kill you.
@@jruler93 if it consumes HP it SHOULD kill you, unless you also have another skill that counters that. That's the case with Nioh 2, you can imbue certain attacks with a 20% damage boost but it drains your HP every time you use and you'll die unless your equipment has Tenacity (which prevents death from passive damage such as be on fire, poisoned, etc). In Order of Ecclesia too, Dominus boosts your damage but also drains your HP and you'll die

nope. i did exactly what he did in this vid with the eact same setup. without cheating. it is possible. you just ned to be careful. as for the dracula tunic, i cant remember exactly, but if memory serves it is in the moving room section in the demon guest house and as for the chaos ring, in the abyss dungeon, on a hard mode play thorough, past abbadon i think. at least everything he used carries over into new game plus
