The parts you've added clearly makes it breath better. Because if your wideband is accurate, you are running super lean at high load due to the extra air flow. I'd retune the ECU ASAP. I personally won't let most N/A street engine go past 12.9. I may let a full race engine go to 13.2 depending what it is and what type of racing. But 14.7 to 14.8 afr at high load is putting a lot of heat into your pistons and exhaust valves not to mention upping your likelihood of knock. You'll also pick up some power adding fuel to go with the extra air flow. Good job on the build. I just dont want your engine to tell you "knock knock" jokes. Because those arent funny
Yeah ive been having the same issue i dont know much about tuning though would have to take it to a shop i guess. Ive only done a muffler delete / y pipe and mid pipe delete and headers are long tube but with cats. Cold air Itake spark plugs new coil packs and wires but mine is running rich or lean at high load and it used to but rarely would hesitate but I've fixed that i think.
@@EvanT830nah bro you gonna have to get a piggy back ecu to control everything if you are on an automatic setup. it’s probably gonna be expensive but you will literally have two step and everything plus your engine won’t blow up like a jdam
They sorta did come from the factory like this. Just not for us yanks the Japanese keep the good stuff for themselves. The Altezza had the BEAMS engine and a 5 speed. Thats a neat combo. Sure sheds lots of weight in the nose
That is a great question and I have no clue. I haven't taken it to a dyno or anything and it's on the stock ECU no piggyback. I'm waiting to swap it to manual and then go boosted and then I will check the power levels. It honestly surprised me how well it's running on just N/A I figured the thick HG would make it lose a bit of power but it's fun to drive right now so I'm happy for the time being. 😁
w/o boots that thick of head gasket seems way too big and likely is holding this thing back a little. but once boosted it should wake back up a ton. just wondering why did you go with such a thick head gasket before boost? i'm planning to build N/A first then go to rotrex s/c
@@JesseFinken You are right it's holding it back a little for sure, but, I'm okay with it. I wanted to build the motor and be done with the internals when the time for boost came. I didn't want to put a thinner HG , run it like that N/A, and then later have to swap it out and then boost. This way, I can be ready to go after manual swap. Your project sounds fun with a SC plan brother, kudos for that route, and I hope everything goes smooth for your build. 🤙

@@KandyCutlass I was planning on using a 400hp rated intercooler from a turbo kit. I think we are going to have to custom make a bracket. It will end up being a lot of measuring and planning either way.

Yeah well if you got behind the seat of a decent auto is300 you would be impressed these cars are so smooth and can take corners like nothing there is button shifting and you can select low thru 3rd then pop it into button mode not a bad little auto transmission definitely one of the better ones imo just a little lacking because of age really.

If only it came from factory like this. I would have picked that over boosted, even if it’s still slower.
It does come like that from factory. Only difference is that it’s a GE and not GTE if I’m not mistaken
@@oxemtexz7358 this is a built motor, it doesn't come out of the factory with all of these mods.
