I don't usually spend money on mobile games but strangely the more f2p friendly the games is, the more likely I'd spend money on it. Just feel like as a player I'm obliged to help proving the point that a game can survive and profit without being a version of diablo immortal.
Another thing I like about spending money in a f2p friendly game is that, you're not really cheating your way to win~ Most of the paywall here are just cosmetics, not some legendary sword from an RPG game that makes you invincible. Yes you increase your collection level faster but ultimately it doesn't affect the core gameplay where your skills actually still matter. I'm not a big spender~ I mainly just pay for the pass, and I like it. I can support the game a little, play the game casually yet enjoying the little perks that comes with it.
As long as I pop the game on for a few hours each week, I'll keep buying the season pass. Seems like subbing to a streaming service, if I stop using I'll unsub
That's exactly the mindset that I'm in. Finally decided to stop spending my 12 euro subscription on WoW and since I'm having such a good time playing Snap, I just decided I should instead invest that money on the monthly pass. So far it's worth every penny and I enjoy supporting a game that actually values its player base.
Gotta say, I’m very glad I found your channel early when I started playing the game upon its official release. You are my go to now. Thanks for all the great work.
Got lvl 90 on season pass today, and tbh, you only need to get to 50, the next 40 levels I've received one variant, +- 200 gold and some credits, it isn't the grind, but a nice bonus. You don't need to play everyday to get maxed, only complete the weekly thresholds and some dailys. Awesome video as always
While Jeff's math breakdowns are on the money and very handy, this is really what it comes down to. I've been buying the passes because I find the game fun and having the pass gives me an extra tangible goal to aim for.
they really need to add a season long 10% (or any other number) increase on earned boosters. there's no benefit to buying the season pass early on, other than obtaining the items when you unlock them. you could wait to see how far you get in the season and if you complete the pass, then you buy it. the booster unlocks in the pass which are random do not help because they give you no agency on which cards you want to try to get boosters for. ik that it's random from the deck you play, but at least you can target specific cards.
I spent money on gold to push to 1000 for the extra tokens before the update hit but now I’m only going to buy the season pass. 100 for the holiday special is just crazy. Im glad this is not a play to win game.
Thanks for the informative video! I started the game 4 days after the start of the season. After I finished my initial recruitment pass, I enjoyed the game so much that I bought the basic season pass to support the game along with the welcome bundle. With 2 days left in the season, I made it to pass level 100 and counting. It is worth the money if you really like the game and want to support the dev team.
I appreciate these breakdowns, clear and directly to the point, helps me make decisions more easily! I hope you get some commission or free stuff, I might spend the extra 5 in cash.
I love that the season pass gives you the character right away, its just awesome to me and yah if you play even a medium amount 50 levels is easy to hit, currently 95 and I dont play nearly as much as Jeff does....unless its the weekend lol
Unless you want to play with the new card on day 1, you can wait and get the pass later in the month and open all the perks then. Run the math and make your decision later. I’ve grabbed up both season passes. Small spender, and it just adds to the fun of the game for me. Not the premium one though.
I find in most games, season passes are the most efficient currency -> stuff ratio in the game, with the catch being that it's time-gated and if you stop playing the game, you miss out on some of the loot. But if youre playing the game enough to complete it, buying it is a good idea. I'd recommend people who are unsure to wait until near the end of the season and see if theyve completed it, if thye have, go ahead and buy it and get the premium rewards. If you haven't, then you didn't waste money.
I looked at the 10 dollar cost compared to other stuff in my life like a monthly Spotify subscription or other streaming services and decided that it's totally worth it for how muhmch I play the game.
My biggest issue with the season pass is that it costs 13,5 USD instead of 10 in my country. No idea why, it's very frustrating and I might need to use some third party sites this month.
I buy the battle pass not really per say for the new cards in it but the extra other stuff including all the potential bonus variants you can. Get this battle pass alone o have gotten 6 variants and I'm on lvl 75 on the b.p.
Perhaps I've missed this somewhere previously but how does the progression through the pass work? Is each match worth points dependant on outcome? Or just number of matches at a base level? How fast can you climb?
A majority of the pass points are the purple missions that unlock week to week. You also get a small amount for each game you play (10 for each location won and one per turn the game lasted).
Some of the bugs and the way sometimes the game treats me with the RNG (bots and non-bots) makes me weary on even buying the welcome bundle. It's nice that this is one of the best F2P games in general but I don't want to spend money on something that doesn't eventually satisfies me/relaxes me when I have some time to play.
Also note the caches past level 50 are all just bait because Ben Brode is the master of building mechanics that pretend like theyre rewarding you for time or money. You can spend all day grinding 1 or 2 caches and the vast majority will have 50 credits or 10 boosters
I know you kind of got into it talking about how season pass cards are released to pool 3 after 2 season passes but because of the new system dont the cards come into shop at 6k credits after the season? And if they do,do they also drop at a .25% chance?
Hey Jeff, thanks for the good work. Do you know when u get from CL 1000 to 3000, do you get the extra 6000 tokens? Like you du when you get to CL 1000.
Since you play a lot it might be helpful to give a reference to someone who plays more casually. I mostly log in to finish all my dailies and once a week or so I play a lot for a few hours. I’m level 61 on the season pass.
"48 levels is nothing to scoff at" Isn't it though? Players are already earning around 500 CL per month f2p IIRC, that's just a 10% increase. Personally I only get the pass if I like the card. If I don't care about the card and its cosmetics and wouldn't buy gold anyway even at a slightly better rate... then there's just a little bit of extra progression, worthless boosters (if you have the time to play), and two random variants out of 1000+ that have a high chance to be something you don't care about. Buy the pass if you want the card imo, otherwise there's not much in it.
Hello hoog! I’m Italian so sorry in advance for my bad English. I have a question for you! 4 mystery variants also plus a small chance of variants in caches
It feels fun alternating season with and without the season pass
The mystery variants that you can acquire could be added to the breakdown. 700 gold or 1200 gold worth, right?
wonderful, i've been doing it right then, thanks for the analysis!

Not localizing cost is fairly typical because people would use VPNs to always get the cheapest version of the pass unfortunately.

Yeah I think I missed that one.
I could have used some of these videos on Cal 4 back in the day.

Nice breakdown!
is season pass something you buy but you have to work for it to get what you paid for? is that even legal?
You can buy the pass on the very last day of the season after seeing how far you progressed in it.
I kinda wish they'd put Collector Tokens into Season Caches, but I get that probably don't.
I'm not expecting them to be added to the caches because you can grind them endlessly, but I'm hoping they put some in levels 1-50 next month.
Fck I am addicted to this game, play from
official start and tomorrow I will get this pass. Because it is a great game
