Fun fact: Billie is phobic about being under water. She directed this video so she could face that fear. I adore her music, and dear God her voice, but her literal courage...
ohhh… thats what it is? i thought people were saying the 22 seconds on her latest music videos represent the 22 years her ex chose to ignore (she was underage at the time and her ex was 22)
@@eakinwong328 I can't understand that people can be so stupid and invent things that don't make sense. Billie and Finneas have been doing the same thing since the beginning of their careers. 🙄
was waiting for your reaction!! billie and finneas started writing this song in 2019, when you watch the doc you will see a snippet of it, really hoping you react to the rest of the album :)
I’ve noticed rock/punk coming back into trend recently actually with artists like olivia rodrego, willow smith and I’m loving it, it sounds sounds so fresh to me and good
I listen to very difeerent genres of music, but I was raised on rock. Rock also helped me go through teenage years. I'm now almost 30, listening everything from rap to cheesy pop but rocky songs coming back is so frikin awesome! I was in shock after hearing this song!
Great review! Was waiting for your reaction. Billie always puts 20 seconds of black screen so that the recommended videos and channels don’t block the music video when they appear at the end of the song.
The last 20 seconds that’s just a black screen is on purpose Billie Eilish is the first artist I’ve ever seen do this when she post a video or anything it is there so that does pop up ads at the end of music videos or TH-cam clips do not block any of the actual music video because she does not want it to take away from the aesthetic those clips are not allowed to be on the screen for more than 16 seconds so she makes it 18 seconds to 20 seconds so that they do not take anything away from her video
I’m honestly pretty surprised that so many people are unfamiliar with nylon string guitars. I know ukuleles are more familiar, but I had no idea that so many folks are entirely unfamiliar with a nylon-string guitar. I guess I’m biased because I learned to play on one, but wow. I guess I know now. This song is so incredible, I’m about 6 hours deep into watching reaction videos because it’s SUCH a reveal!
Brilliant reaction Jacob!!!! So happy it is the kind of music that is your passion!!! I'm so in love with this artist and her brother...brilliant writing, excellent use of musicality...telling a story through the instruments...she has combined her beauty with her intelligence into a masterpiece!!! By the way, she leaves the last 17 seconds blank to prevent TH-cam from attaching ads to her music videos, or that is what I was led to believe. Thank you for helping me get "out of my head!". Keep up the awesome job you're doing! You make a lot of people smile and think about music in a different way!!!
You’re right it’s a ukulele and you’re also right her vision is Paris in the 1920s and 30s with several of these songs she talked about it in a couple of her interviews here recently
This is the reaction I was waiting for! The performance you're referring to was the one she did for Amazon. She made it set in Paris because she said she loved it there. I also got a vintage vibe, like an old 1940's movie. She's definitely an "old" soul.
I think it's a small acoustic guitar with a capo on it that creates that ukelele sound (that is from seeing a clip of her and Finneas working on the song).
I've been listening to her album non-stop since the release day and i can definitely say this is her best album. And this track is the best track on the album for sure. For me it was an emotional roller-coaster and i literally wanted to scream with Billie in the 2nd part of the song so as to release all those emotions that drives my crazy.
You should check out this song on 2022 Grammy's. YOU WILL LOVE THE ENERGY THAT PERFORMANCE BRINGS. I always get up when the second half starts.......I have my headphones & it beats hard! Guitar, drums, the grudge...I repeat it a few times. I have been watching your videos for awhile. I appreciate ya. I just wanted to tell you because you will LOVE it & appreciate it.
Thanks for covering Billie's new album - I didn't see the livestream, so I saw the tracks on you tube, but I have somehow lost that and so my comments are on that extended reaction ( I believe from about an hour ago today ). [ I did see this reaction late Friday and like it - I believe "Happier Than Ever" is my favorite track on the album ]; I can't find reactions to the individual tracks, except for this one. But here's my comment: On "Getting Older" you wondered why she used "weird" instead of "strange" - the line was "it's so weird". I don't know why, but Billie often divides up words in unnatural ways - she will divide up works or bend them - one syllable words into two. I think she may have figured "WE - IRD" is easier to bend than "strange". In "YOUR POWER" she sings "you ru---ined her" [ I have never heard that word split into two distinct syllables before. IN "HALLEY'S COMET" she sings the word "quite" as "QU---ITE". She bending them, I think to make them part of a run - but I believe it's unusual - I'm not familiar with RAP, perhaps words are bent or shaped in new ways in RAP, and she is using that technique as a tool for her songs. And I believe it's also in "GETTING OLDER" (can't recall for sure, where she opposes the word "NEGLECTION" to getting "ATTENTION" - I believe we would have said "neglected"; "NEGLECTION" isn't in my Merriam Webster's dictionary, but I googled it today, and see that it is a real word in BRITISH ENGLISH. She does like doing things her way!
Billie always does the last 20 seconds as black so that the video recommendations or ads don't cover up the video itself. She wants every part of the video to be seen.
It sounds more emo than grunge in my view. You can tell she and her brother grew up listening, among others, to My Chemical Romance - particularly The Black Parade.
Hello, I want to recommend one singer to you - Tina Karol. You can reacting to Тіна Кароль/ Tina Karol - Попурі: Перечекати, Несе Галя воду, Тобі задається, Твої гріхи (Live)
He sticks to what he knows... Which is production. He never talks about lyrics... ever. It's not his thing. There's others on TH-cam for that, I guess.
actually the "leave me fucking alone" part kinda reminds of olivia. in fact, i can imagine olivia singing something that sounds like the whole second part of the song. it's not a bad thing, really. songs giving the same vibes happen all the time. i love both of them so i'd love it if they are making more songs like that because they are just my cup of tea
Everyone making these review bids acting like they listening to it for the first time... producers and musicians not saying anything about the horrible high levels of distortion... Blur blur blur
Don't you as a musician hate the distorted sound? (Talking about the dirty compression on the drums not the distortion on the guitar) I can't stand it, it could've been so much better for real, she should quit this tries to sound different to absolutely everything else, that one was too far.
When the song got more intense, I got soooo much chills because of how much emotion she sang it with.
soo wild!
Billie intentionally leaves a 20 sec blank screen so that the Suggested Videos wont appear during the Music Video

the "20secs of nothing" prevents youtube putting ads on the video
How?
I don’t think its ads, I think its recommended videos at the end

The screaming at the end too cool!
