Meaning Billie shut out her mother and friends for him..because that’s how much she was into him..and she also shut them out because she was a “kid”, meaning she didn’t know any better. She treated her fam and friends like shit for this dude.
An even darker interpretation of this line is that, since she was a kid, what she was doing with him HAD to be hidden. Makes me a little ill tbh.
And that's how they groom children. Separate them from their family and friends, so you only listen and pay attention to him.
The song was written for her dad. The song is about her dad not a lover
She said "Never paid any mind to my mother or friends so I shut em all out for YOU cuz I was a kid" she shut her family out for him ! She wasn't listening to them telling her he was bad news. She shouts out drew and laura...2 of her best friends...in I didn't change my number! Billie said it's not...but I feel like this album is based around that relationship (which so many people can relate to), body shaming, paparazzi, being famous. I agree 100% with you. This song was based on her and her ex I believe and many young teen girls go through really tough break ups so I feel that's why so many young girls even women can relate. She makes music so relatable. And you pinned it perfectly about her family because I know first hand what her family means to her. She was an unschooler so therefore close to her family and it means a lot to her for this guy to meet her family. I am also an unschooling mom and I have 2 adult sons. I feel the huge difference between them. I am definitely closer to the youngest who is 15 and unschooled. Or better term "self directed learning" which basically means you let your kids take the wheel and take their passions and create their own life. I'm so proud to see how Billie and Finneas found their passions and took off. That's usually what unschoolers do. The parents are here to help support but they navigate themselves. Her mom and dad did a wonderful job of that! It's all expressed right here! ✅ Thanks for the reaction I LOVED IT.
Hi, enjoy your vids on Billie. I agree with you when she dives in; she is embracing her self and her free expression of her feelings and their power! Some are freaked that she falls back in, but no! she is in full control, it was her choice, it shows it no longer scares or controls her.

So the end where it’s 15 to 20 seconds of just black screen is so that those pop-up ads that are not allowed to be more than 18 seconds long don’t pop up and block the final shot of the video and ruin the aesthetic
