Her brother Finneas is her songwriting partner, arrangements, recording and producer. He probably also has a hand in the engineering as well. He’s self taught, and just a phenomenal artist in his own right. As for the video ( and virtually all of her videos) , it’s ALL Billie.
It's hard to pick who is a bigger genius. They are both amazing. And sometimes we forget he is also super young.

@@ladyj.9350 Yes, as the producer he does. But he also has said that he sends the final to others ( FINNEAS usually sends his songs over to Justin Hergett or Rob Kinelski to mix. He stated in the recent ‚Mix with the masters‘ video that his mixes are already 80-90% there before he sends them out.)

When she sings it live...sounds just like the track. Goosebumps every single time. She is awesome!
Honestly, live sounds 120% better. You can feel the emotion in her voice in your bones.
I have been a music listener all my life, and I am now 79 years old. I think I know good music when I hear it, no matter the genre. More than just about anyone I have ever heard, her music goes straight to my heart.
The chorus in that second half gives me "we are the champions" vibes and it gives me free reigns to jam the fuck out when I hear it. I love it.

She is my fav, I love her so much. I wish I can meet her, that is my only dream.
Both Billie and Finneas have synesthesia so I know Billie in particular really like the background music to line up with the music video itself. She is also able to give every song a color and I believe sometimes a feeling. She uses her synesthesia to make her songs and music videos more aesthetically pleasing!
(9 months later) I saw Billie live this year for the first time and saw her do just what you're talking about for the entire show. It was kinda perfect. Ocean Eyes everything was blue, Everything I Wanted green, Haley's Comet purple, Oxytocin red, etc. It seemed like a glimpse into how her and Finneas see music and was beautiful to witness.

I've heard bits of this song on social media and it took some time to figure out Billie screaming to the rock tune was the continuation of the lullaby-ish song I thought was boring.

yea, the dripping was a great metaphor for how this goes as well. at first it's just a few drops, a few suspicious actions, so small that you might be imagining it. and then it becomes more and more until eventually the wave hits and you're like "oh shit-"
You got it through copyright! Well played and thank you! The whole (double) album is a phenomenal body of work. It’s experimental and mature, but still edgy and compelling. My current fave is the final track Male Fantasy which follows this one and is of course connected. There is a nice live version if you are interested.

This was my first time listening to this. I like your videos and figured what the hell..the car thing took me out. I went through that exact thing while pregnant with my son. And I've never heard someone else go through it too.. probably cause we dont share that stuff and holy crap does this song explain my life. She put into words things I cant..Like it's scary how close it was. But this song feels therapeutic almost. Its amazing!! I hope shes out of that relationship. Must be only me, but her breathes mid sentence, are sometimes even louder than her sung word/s. Maybe Billie should release a track with her just breathing and sighing, prolly garner 100M youtube views or more.
"Tension" you say mate. In her first verse, first words she sings in the song are "When I'm away from you, I'm happier than ever", towards the middle of the song she sings "You clearly weren't aware that you made me miserable" and the keychange music change she sings "And all that you did was make me fucking sad". Where praytel is the "Tension" in that? Its all the same rhetoric theme. through the entire song. Ohhhhhhhh you mean when the music gets louder near the end (She is singing mumbling exactly the same over this section of the song, as her voice sounded at the very start of the song take note)" I guess...you could you could mistake an increase in volume and tempo of music, somehow changing her singing to become more.........emotional.
Oh my bad. When she sings the F word in the last section of the song, that equates to more emotion, yeah, does it.
