The super big cities in the South like Dallas are fast paced, busy, and people are not overly hospitable, even rude in certain cases . This isn’t the South from back in the day. You will still find good hospitality in the smaller cities such as New Orleans though
Not including this family, but I think when the whole state of New York including the Mayor and Governor called us Texans Racists because we asked for help with the border for 3 years is maybe why the sentiments aren't as rosey as now the same New yorkers who said this are coming to the same state they condemned. Texans are nice but we are tired of our kindness being taken as a weakness. We want Texas to stay in it's same culture, political climate of being Red and hospitality. We don't want it changed to be NY. If your ok with this than welcome aboard. I see different license plates everyday making Texas home.
