I agree. The Type R is a much more fun car to drive. Love the buckets seats! And the R has no torque steer. Even a stock STI has torque steer which I hate

Disclaimer for anyone wanting to tune this car: my friend has a 17’ STI and ran the Cobb CAI with the OTS tune off the accessport. His rods went through the cylinders yesterday while driving. If you are going to tune your car, GET A PROTUNE.
Oddly enough I like that about these cars. You can’t just slap parts on it like Honda’s and be on your way. You must know what you’re doing. Sounds lame but I like it
There is another AWD hot hatch with a manual transmission but smaller; the Toyota Yaris GR. It’s so light it’ll do 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. Sadly, Toyota said this will not come to the United States, but it is available in Europe, Japan, Australia and Mexico. I believe the US will get the Corolla GR instead.
I’ve seen the renderings and spy pics of the USDM next gen WRX. I gotta say, it is one of the worst looking cars I’ve seen since the Pontiac Aztek. If you want a good idea of the front end, look up the JDM Subaru Levorg for 2022.
I'm about to get one this month. Don't know if off the lot or I might order one with the stuff I want and don't want on it like certain packages have extra stuff I don't care about.

STI all day long. The Challenger is sooo heavy and sluggish. Even the Hellcat doesnt feel like that fast of a car. This STI can actually take turns and is really fun in the mountains. Quick enough in a straight line stock. But modified to 400hp is easy to do and that's a great blend of a car.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed That is true. i test drove both, even though the SRT V8 is quick , it did felt a little sluggish due to the weight but the suspension was more comfortable than the sti.
Dont get UEH unless you dont care about ringland failure or high cylinder temperatures, this is why i dont believe people when they say the WRX/WRX STI is unreliable, thats untrue, if you want longetivity, then stick to equal length headers and upgrade rods and pistons once you hit 350whp and above. The stock turbo can only handle so much power
Interesting, I thought the interior has everything I need and nothing that I don't. Granted the piano black plastic doesn't do anything for me. And I suppose material quality could be better overall, but it is a sports car rather than a luxury car.
It's a nice interior overall. Nothing too special. And it does have the basic economy car feeling to it. Compared to a $40k Audi or something on that level. You can tell your money on the STI did not go to the interior. Not saying its bad. It's just basic

I’ve always thought the STI would be a fun car to drive. Lots of pep in a smaller body. And you can get four people inside comfortably. I just can’t get past the height of that rear wing! @Clark Kyle The 2021 WRX has a 0-60 time around 6 seconds, the 2021 WRX STI has a 0-60 time around 4.5. Why would Subaru sell the more performance oriented STI with the bigger engine and more horsepower and make it slower?? The STI is much quicker!

The car is nice, the seats are super tight for a heavier person, difficult to get in and out with the seat bolsters being so high and sporty, the car doesn’t do well in hot weather states/locations so intercooler system needs to be updated, the tires are too thin and rims are too large you can feel every bump/dip/pebble, the suspension is great, the Bluetooth system needs attention major issues with iPhone skipping,fast forwarding, lagging and so on, intelligent mode is useless, sport mode is decent, sport sharp is good and responsive but resets every time you turn the car off and back on, exhaust is too quiet for a higher tier sports car from Subaru so definitely need to upgrade that with an axle back or full exhaust system, the seat belt warning system does not shut off EVER so don’t expect the noise to go away after a certain amount of time just buckle the F up! 😂 the recaro seats are BS and are the same as the stock STI seats just has a RECARO logo on it instead of STI and is stitched slightly different so don’t waste the money on LOGO seats! Rear wing needs two stabilizers because it moves at high speeds and can be worry some, steering is great and tight! Shifts are super short! I’m sure I’m missing a few things! Good vid!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes I own one currently a 2020 STI and it is fun to drive for a bit and if it’s modded it’s even more fun but comfort isn’t there for me just because it’s so tight inside and when you come from a larger vehicle it’s a whole different deal! I think it’s just for certain people and certain body types unfortunately that is why I am going to a Charger hellcat for the space, comfortability and power!
I've owned a 2017 sti since it came out and msrp was 36,500. This car is not at all worth 44,000 dollars hahaahahahahahahahah. Subaru is smoking that good stuff.
I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad I bought for $34K and the 2021's are going for $45K or more. It's across the board on all brands, not just Subaru! Cars keep getting more expensive!
@Clark Kyle not worth it at all. My car is paid off and only has 15,000 miles. if the new sti isn't faster and the new engine platform isn't better I'm going with the 2022 type r or a supra. I was offered 32,000 for mine from the dealer yesterday. Thats the only thing worth paying 44,000 is that it may hold its value. An trust me i know everything there is to know about the E J platform and again its not worth at all 44,000 for a sunroof, dusty ass bigger brakes, 10 more hp, and a no fog light option hahshahahaahaahah

I say keep the wing since the wing has always gave it its signature look. It’s the same for the Evo.

They did make a Legacy with an H6 (depending on the year) It was either a 3.0R or 3.6R

Yeah these engines go boom pretty commonly. Especially if you start to modify them
If you so the cyl 4 cooling mod and have an air oil separator you should be fine tho
it’s all about supporting mods.
Yeah I'm sure good upgrades can help keep the engine in check
It's the torque that's the killer. The STI has been coming with an RA shortblock for a little bit now so it can handle a little more.

That's definitely what you prefer more! But on a silver car, I'd pick the machined. Gun metal is cool, but maybe too dark against the silver!

I don't believe the Subaru WRX has a spare, but it might have the spare kit tools and all that underneath the rear cargo area which I didn't show..

I've owned a 2017 sti since it came out and msrp was 36,500. This car is not at all worth 44,000 dollars hahaahahahahahahahah. Subaru is smoking that good stuff.
I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad I bought for $34K and the 2021's are going for $45K or more. It's across the board on all brands, not just Subaru! Cars keep getting more expensive!
@Clark Kyle not worth it at all. My car is paid off and only has 15,000 miles. if the new sti isn't faster and the new engine platform isn't better I'm going with the 2022 type r or a supra. I was offered 32,000 for mine from the dealer yesterday. Thats the only thing worth paying 44,000 is that it may hold its value. An trust me i know everything there is to know about the E J platform and again its not worth at all 44,000 for a sunroof, dusty ass bigger brakes, 10 more hp, and a no fog light option hahshahahaahaahah
@@Evrythng_boostin the limited 17 sti was 42k.. A base model last year was 38, very similar to your base 17. And all the 21's are worth at least 5k more now because there is no 2022 sti
