Summer Franko a lot of it ended up happy. Summer and Seth married. Sandy, Kirsten and their daughter were healthy. Julie got a university degree and was successfully in a blended family. Ryan and Taylor were reconciled and Ryan was repeating the cycle Sandy started w him
The character Sandy Cohen's humor was great through out the whole series. One thing I really enjoyed about the show..... And a terrific Dad that he was too.
I always start bawling when he asks the kid if he needs help because I imagine him taking the kid in and treating him just like he was treated by Sandy and Kirsten 😭
Always wanted to watch The O.C. but never got round to it. Then I watched Gotham's pilot and recognised Ben McKenzie from O.C. and decided to finally watch the show. Just finished it all. Amazing series and one that is totally different to the ones I love (Lost, Prison Break). The characters are fantastic. Emotional but perfect ending, bringing back all the memories from season one. What a show. One of the best. A work of art.
I watched the show when it first came out. Bought all the seasons on dvd and today I've just finished watching all 4 seasons for the 3rd time. Amazing. Still one of my favourite TV shows. Still haven't seen Gotham yet.
2021 and I still miss that there isn’t anymore episodes of The OC for me to enjoy. I think that the entire series, the characters and their storylines were beautifully written.
I don't know why, but watching this ending was quite emotional. It was a fantastic show with many ups and downs. A true look at some of the lives of upper middle class people, and how they made a stranger family and the story of people surrounding that family ! Amazing work of art !
i have to say the ending was so satisfying. I don't understand why people did not enjoy season four, it was a different dynamic to previous seasons. The first few episodes where really good but as the season went on it was really different (in a good way) to other seasons. The Taylor/Ryan relationship was really enjoyable she made him more humane than Marissa. I feel that the ending was really satisfying because Seth and Summer actually got married which made me really happy and wanting to see more of them.
Tatenda Balotelli I agree although I think they left us hanging as to Ryan and Taylor as a couple. Which is sort of unfair as they really tied up every other story in a pretty bow. Other than that, perfection.
I don't think people were disappointed with the ending. It was that the show ended early. If Mischa Barton didn't leave early, there would of probably been a season 5.
THE OC revolutionized the world. I finished watching it several months ago, but I can't find another show to watch.Simply because it is the greatest show on earth.THANK YOU for everything. CALIFORNIA FOR LIFE
@@gonzalobl6630 same. With all the garbage that’s on these days, I just keep re-watching the OC Friday night lights and Seinfeld over & over and can basically just continue like that forever.
The end was too short! I really need more! and the final scene with the little boy was so cute it make me cry it just brought back nostalgic to season 1 the pilot when it all started.. I just love this show so much it really deserve more seasons..
how can this be such a great satisfying ending that manages to bring the show full circle, yet the same creator gave us the monstrosity that was the gossip girl finale?
I started watching the O.C in 2nd grade in secret because it was too grown up. My good friend at the time (who told me about it) and I would play at recess and we would act out the character's' stories. I miss this show and those days, it makes you realize how things now won't be anywhere near the same in 10 years :')
Yeah it makes me wonder what happened to that kid. As much as I still want to weigh in to the debate of Ryan-Taylor, the kid’s presence is a worthy thing to help keep your mind off “did they finally end up together?”.
Man i love this show so much. It was one of the best of all time. I have all four seasons i still watch em and i wish oc never ended. Everything was perfect about this show.
omg, i cried my self to sleep the night this show ended i was so devstated, i loved this show, and i feel like i was connected with it and i love ben mckenzie, and he is the best ever, i wish this show was still on
As of 2018, _The O.C._ remains the last TV series within the teen drama genre to have aired on one of the four major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC).
There was a Marissa flashback right before Ryan left the Cohen house (right before the music sequence with Patrick Park started)... it actually made me cry it was so beautifully done. The ending sequence was perfect imo.
great montage and just an amazing ending (so sad its over)...ive watched this a bunch of times and im still not tired of it, i finally realized tonight though that taylor is only in one scene and thats her smiling at ryan at summer & seth's wedding
Even though it didn’t show Taylor and Ryan’s happy ending. Josh Schwartz said yes to them ending up together so that’s closure for me. Seth and Summer wedding 💙 Ryan going full circle when he saw the kid in distress. That was as graceful ending.
I actually heard that it was confirmed that Ryan & Taylor didn’t stay together. They were so forced, it’s like they paired them up because they were standalone characters after Marissa died. They couldn’t just have Ryan take some time to move on from Marissa’s death. And it’s like they tried to make Taylor be Marissa’s replacement
Marissa being my favorite character I surprisingly liked season 4 a awful lot. I think the ending was amazing but it left you wanting more. Seeing how everyone was happy without Marissa felt good to see. I honestly have never been a really big fan of Taylor but I think she did Ryan good. I honestly think that Ryan just needed Taylor to help him grow as a person. I was also really happy that they didn't marry each other or anything. I think Ryan will always love Marissa in a way.. I've been watching this show since I was little and everytime around November I go back and watch all the seasons it brings me joy. The OC came out before I was born but my mom has always been a big fan of the show so we own all the seasons. I definitely think growing up around this show and a good mother it's helped shaped me into who I am today. The OC also teaches you that's it's hard being a teenager and to never give up, the life lessons this shows gives you are amazing.
I never liked Ryan & Taylor together, she was more into him than he ever was into her, and she stalked & manipulated him to try to get him to like her. Ryan & Taylor were just so forced and they were stand-alone characters after Marissa died, so the writers probably thought to just pair them up. It’s like they couldn’t just have Ryan be single for a while after Marissa’s death…. One of the writers on the show confirmed that Ryan & Taylor didn’t end up together though so I think Ryan eventually found a good woman later on. I don’t know why they didn’t just keep Taylor with her Korean boyfriend in season 3
Summer poking her tongue out is one of the cutest things i have ever seen XD Kaitlin is so cool too! Love the OC! It's sad it's cancelled but also good in a way, it wasn't as good as in the beginning anymore. And I didn't want it to end in afwfulness
For someone who actually just finished watching the show for the first time I have to say that this was a really good ending to the show in my opinion season four is the best because it’s less drama than the previous seasons but overall the ending to the show was really well done the montage of Ryan, looking at the house, the younger self to now was just really well done. Everyone moved on. Everyone was able to just have a better life, and of course, that ending scene where he wants to help the younger kid was just such a homage to what Sandy wanted to help him. I love the show the show is really great Really well done. Definitely miss it.
When Kaitlin gets up to cheer for Julie at her graduation, it reminds me of when Julie did the exact same thing for Marissa at her graduation in season 3 before she died... so sad. And who would've thought that Ryan and Marissa would ever share a sibling? hahah i love it when summer pokes her tongue out at Seth
That last scene was PERFECT! I couldn't think of a more perfect ending =) And I think they were laughing at Sandy cause he said,"I bet you've never seen anyone use on of these before(the blackboard as opposed to the white board)"
I beleive that this was the perfect ending and timing. If it was a longer season it would of become boring. It wasn't the same after Marissa died. I liked the grieving moments in the first part of the season, the writers respected her character. Ryan and Taylor wasn't a perfect match, they weren't quite right for each other, but I loved the way the writers dealt with "Marissa" situation. Taylor was so very cute and Seth and Summer was the sweetest couple. It was a good show, I'll miss it.
this is so beautiful..... and so sad at the same time because all the series ended! it may sound silly.. but this series always will be in my heart in every way.. beautiful..
Honestly after Marissa died, i felt very bad, sorry for her then when i started watching the fourth season i was beginning to feel good. No more Marissa no more problems. It can be said that fourth season was very boring but i loved it, i felt clean. Idk
I watched seasons 1-3 when I was 13. I tried season 4 but only got a few episodes in. I’m in my 20s and just finished the entire series and saw the finale for the first time - I think they done real well to wrap up the series and end on a positive, especially with Ryan and the kid. Season 4 was definitely a lot “lighter” than season 3 but as someone commented it became fun again. I enjoyed every character, but at the end of the day everyone who watched this wished Sandy Cohen was their dad 😂 Final note: It would be amazing to see a Netflix give this the Gilmore girls treatment and make a mini series with The OC!
I miss this show but i'm glad they killed it during the third season. For such a short running show they were really reaching for plot during the last few episodes.
I’ve seen the OC so many times, but much of the final season I’ve only seen once when I first watched it. My god did this bring up some repressed feelings!!
