Wood Fence Staining with Graco Sprayer

Doc stains the wood fence after cleaning with the Graco sprayer. The wood fence was cleaned and pressure washed, now it's time for new stain. In this video Doc has upgraded to the Graco spray with stand. Doc custom mixes wood stain colors to create a stain color he calls copper penny. The result is a warm fence color that will look great against green grass. Staining wood fences is not a hard task and actually goes very quickly once you get the hang of it. Restaining a wood fence can add great value to your home if trying to sell.

I have to put flags out to mark the shallow part of my solid drain pipe each year before my aeration guy shows up. Kinda like marking sprinkler heads, which I don't have. Looks great as always, thanks Doc.

The only negative, and probably not for most DIYers, about the X7 model is the pump isn’t replaceable. I went with X17 pro.

Judging by the price of wood right now. that would be about a $20,000+ fence. if someone wanted to put up a new one that size.

Based on your old videos, I built the same fence and stained it honey gold with the magnum x5. I might have missed it, how long has it been since you stained your fence the first time? Mine has been up for about 8 months and we absolutely love it but honey gold is a bit too orange.

What is the best sprayer to use with oil based stain? We prefer ReadySeal on our fence.

Hey doc when miximg that stain. I only need 3 gallons. So would I use 2 gallons semi Amd 1 gallon transparent?

Since you mentioned doing the grass aeration. I was wondering if you have ever heard of liquid aeration? Is it as good as the plug kind?

When you say you de-aged the fence, do you mean you just pressure washed it really good, or was there some chemical or product you used in addition to pressure washing?
