    Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This TH-cam channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
    I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
    I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
    I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
    On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
    If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

    Rick won't like hearing it, but I think these clubs (at least in the longer irons) would do wonders for his consistency in the Break 75 series. The shot dispersion with them was the most impressive thing, never mind the numbers. Seriously impressive ball striking with them, Rick

      I would cut off a small part of a finger if I could get Rick to play "game improvement" irons. I love the guy but he is not a T-100 type player. I am a 2 Handicap and I play Rogue X irons. They are basically made for 25 handicappers or so. I couldn't care less. I play much, much better with these irons than some "blades". If I hear the word "workability" one more time I may jump off a bridge. It might be the dumbest concept in golf. Watch James Robinsons shot tracers. There is no "workability"...he just hits it straight.

      He's got a lot of irons in the fire with videos and podcasts. And he needs to keep the programming coming to keep up his viewership, which is how he makes a living. I imagine Rick finds it difficult to find time to spend working on his game. Playing tour irons might be asking a bit much.

What I thoroughly enjoy about the reviews is how he describes the feel and also his comparison to other clubs. But the T200's look very classy and they appear to be easier to hit. Interesting. It is so good to see you coming out with reviews, we were waiting for so long. I fall right into that zone that you talked about, Rick, as an 11 hcp. I'm now really excited and curious to try out the new Titleist T200 irons! The fact that the peak height was a bit higher than the P790 is awesome and will hopefully hold firmer greens a bit better.

      And they're way too strong lofted. Unless you're a slow swinger that need help with distance, look elsewhere or your gonna need 5 wedges to fill the lower gap in the bag. The pw is 43 degrees for crying out loud!!!

    • @Reffitt2
      @Reffitt2 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @suilegew Agreed. Too strong for me. I hit them in a sim and was carrying 9 iron 164 yards. I prefer the lofts of the T150s and T100s much more. I suppose that's why you can get the approach/gap wedge in the T200 set. Lol.

    • @chrisgilligan4968
      @chrisgilligan4968 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@suilegew The set does have a GW. I actually ordered my set from 5-GW instead of 4-PW. So instead of carrying a 4 iron, and a hybrid etc. Now my 5 iron goes about as well as the 3 hybrid I used to carry. There's a hair too big of a gap from my 5 iron to my 5 wood....but I don't see that coming into play very often. The T200's effectively move everything up by 1 club - but I'm getting a higher launch/peak height out of all of them, and more consistent distance on off centre hits than my old gamers. I'm not a fast swinger....but also not slow. Driver is about 100mph plus or minus on any given swing....7 iron is about 80mph.

    • @chrisgilligan4968
      @chrisgilligan4968 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I’ll be honest here, I really miss the on-course portions of the review. It’s great that you’re finding really good data in the simulator, but I’m finding the overall review to feel very static with this current setup. Maybe there is an opportunity to take the good performing irons, and do a quick segment about how they feel from the fairway from the rough or off the tee. You also don’t talk much about how easy the irons are to shape

    I would be cautious when purchasing these irons as I have owned them from new since August 2023 and the plastic backing (back of the club head) has come off on the 7 iron. Seems to be a problem Titleist are having with them. Also the cheap plastic that they have glued to the back fades dramatically and quickly making them look really worn and cheap within a few months. Another magic bullet! Being a former avid Trap Shooter I had a very long time friend, kind of an old school kind of guy who recently died of Covid. The man is in the Trap Shooter's Hall of Fame so you could say he pretty much knew what he was talking about.
    He had an an inexpensive shotgun that he shot for years and won scores of competitions with until the frame developed a crack. After that he went new school and continued winning shoots.
    While I was shooting and doing okay I thought I'd up my equipment from old school to new school and he saved me thousands of dollars with these words of advice? "It ain't the arrow. It's the indian."
    Magic golf clubs?! Keep your old ones and spend the money on lessons and be the better indian. With irons costing 1200 and drivers at 300 plus you can buy lessons that are actually going to up your game.

    Bought the 2nd gen T200s (2021) and I absolutely love them. The extra distance is great and I feel there is quite a bit of forgiveness even without the cavity. Very clean iron. I salivate over the t150s but I can’t justify spending more money on irons when there is nothing wrong with current set

    You’re telling me with all the resources and manufactures at his disposal, that rick couldn’t get his hands on the new 2023 P790 or even the P790 from 2021?!? He’s legit comparing the brand new 2023 T200 to a P790 that was released two generations ago in 2019!! So deceptive smh it’s a shame people will spend their hard earned money on new clubs based on a fraudulent video like this.

      @@zacharyplace7482 I got some Chrome Softs for my birthday and promptly lost them all (that hurt). I’ve started using Kirkland’s they’re great. I’ve been trying Seed balls as well, they’re pretty similar but they’re £2 a ball, and honestly I haven’t seen a huge drop off in performance from the chrome softs. Good distance and good spin on the green.

    This sector of the market has some really good options right now. The Titleist T200, Taylormade P790, PXG 0311P Gen 6, and Mizuno Pro 225 are all incredible. All perform very well and I love the looks of all of them even though they are a little different (very different for the 0311P). Not sure you could go wrong with any of the 4.

    Now this may sound silly… the T200 just matched the p790 from 2019 right? So doesn’t that mean that the 2023 T200 is just as good as a club made 4 years ago? Now, why not compare it to the 2021 p790? I love how that T200 feels and sounds but seeing it’s as comparable as the 2019 P790 why even get the 2023 T200?

    Why is Rick using a 2019 P790 to compare to a 2023 Titleist - come on Rick you can do better than that!! I have the 2022, which looks better than 2019, and the 2023 is a refined version of the 2022. Admittedly the T200 does look good! I’m keen to try the new T200 although the 9 iron is 1.5 degrees stronger than my 790. Not so keen on chasing distance at that end of my irons.

    Will be in the market for a new set of irons this winter. T200 seems right up my alley as I’m playing around a 10-12 handicap. Concerned about the gapping to my wedges though… PW 42 to a 50 degree gap wedge could easily be a 20 yard gapping which is not whatcha want.
