Omg I was watching another ASMRtist and she was opening candy from a listener who lived in the Netherland. The candy wrapping was in Dutch, and all I kept thinking was "I wish I knew how to read Dutch" and here you are.
For the moment this is my favourite asmr clip. Have used it every night for 2 weeks to get relaxed and sleepy. Your voice is among the best of all asmr channels.

I love ASMR videos that are fully or partly in my own language. Not having to process the language at all makes my busy mind turn itself off even more.
That's interesting, I'm the complete opposite. All the stressors of my life are in Dutch, so I associate the language with real life and with stress. Everything that relaxes me is in English (tv, movies, music, ASMR, youtube in general, etc). It's one of the reasons I avoid making videos in Dutch
This is so cool. I had a couple of teachers I would learn lots from because they were so relaxing to listen to. It reminds me of those lessons! It is strange how you seem to be able to retain more information when you go into tingle/trance mode lol. It's cool I can listen and learn as well 😁
That's awesome! Somehow to me it's hard to combine tingles and learning. I try to watch Italian ASMR from time to time, since I'm learning the language, but I get so focused on the learning that I forget to relax, haha
You could tell she was flustered when she couldn't recall the term 'compound word' but damn she has to be an educator in real life. This was a beginners lesson and all but it was brilliant! She's clearly intelligent! Love the crossroads of education and ASMR!
I used to be a teacher indeed, not a language teacher though. I remember in the first year I'd feel so bad when I'd stumble over words, but thankfully my years as a teacher taught me not to sweat the small mistakes. So glad you enjoyed the video, thank you!!

But glitter makes everything look pretty! This reminds me though of this picture that went around on the catnet of a kitty that rolled around in their hooman's glitter art project and was COVERED in glitter. It made me very upset. That is bad hoomaning right there.

During editing that was also one of my favourite parts, and my niece's too. She spent days afterwardsd counting invisible people in her invisible classroom :)

Yup, same microphone :), glad you enjoy it so much! It's a little fickle, and sometimes picks up so much interference. So when I use it, I always film with my other mic as well. If I were to film a video like this and find out afterwards I couldn't use the audio, I would ugly cry and not film for a month, lol. I'm glad the mic did work out in this one. Meeee too! The first time I ever experienced ASMR, I was six years old, and my teacher was writing on the blackboard in our classroom. Wow! Best tingles ever, still to this day.
I saw "Language Lesson" in my feed and had to watch. I love these! I have fundamental German skills which lets me read Dutch, but worked with some people in Emmen and found understanding spoken Dutch challenging.

Well, there's not much to say about it. Mostly sounds different, with a few different words usages, like British vs American English. But if I don't mention it, I get people complaining that it "isn't Dutch, this is Flemish."

Been to Holland twice. It is the most quirky country in the world. You'd think the language would sound lovely because of the preponderance of vowels. But when spoken the guttural sounds make it sound like the speaker is gargling rocks.

In a recent video where I rewrite my request list, I explain why I'll never make many videos in Dutch. But I'll definitely film another one at some point.

Been to Holland twice. It is the most quirky country in the world. You'd think the language would sound lovely because of the preponderance of vowels. But when spoken the guttural sounds make it sound like the speaker is gargling rocks.
Hahaha, I completely agree. This is why only 2 of my >250 videos are fully in Dutch. People keep requesting them though

Hiya, thank you and welcome! I currently have 2 videos up in Dutch, a Dutch therapy role-play, and a Dutch miniatures video. You can find them that way. In a recent video where I rewrite my request list, I explain why I'll never make many videos in Dutch. But I'll definitely film another one at some point.
Bedankt for giving me interest to learn Dutch, so far it seems easier than Deutch.
Of the two I'd say Dutch is definitely easier, but I've heard it's still quite hard. Veel succes!

Dankje! Ik hoor mezelf (en anderen) niet graag praten in het Nederlands, wat nogal lastig is bij editen dan. Ik hoef ook absoluut niet te boomen, liefst niet zelfs, ik heb ook geen advertenties op mijn video's dus maakt echt niet uit of ze veel gekeken worden. Ik heb wel 2 Nederlandse video's.
Suggestion..A white erase board would be even better....hard to see the dark chalkboard on my phone....
Agreed, but it was the *sound* of writing on the chalkboard that I was wanting. Might try whiteboard next time, though the squeakiness of it tends to irritate me. Maybe she can write quietly.
As Melissa kindly said, it was part of the request in this case. Writing on a whiteboard does bring the grating squeaky factor
