But did you know that English uses a lot of Dutch words. All from the 17th century :)

And that's the funny thing, Dutch people will usually say (this is written down fonetically) statsijon, with the 'i' spoken 'shortened'. Flemish is quite different on many pronounciations. Following is in [dutch word] [fonetical writing] [explanation in english] .
Where Dutch people say 'politie' 'politsie' (Dutch for 'police'), Flemish usually say 'polisie' (fonetically the same).
well Dutch is Germanic and spanice is romance and they are both close to eachotver so yeah
@@weeardguy I agree on the difference in pronunciation of the word "politie" as "politsie/polisie", but Dutch people from the Netherlands will oftentimes not take the effort to pronounce the "t" and the "i" (not even shortened). A pronunciation like "stashon" is common, unlike a pronunciation like "polisie".

~Nightly reminders
~Turn off autoplay
~Drink some water/eat (keep in mind that food does not digest as well at night)
~Brush your teeth!
~Use the restroom
~Take any needed meds (:
~Set any alarms for tomorrow
~Make sure you’ve done all your homework
~Feed any hangry pets
~If you shower in the evening, take a shower
~Maybe if you don’t usually, say goodnight to someone!
~A couple things to make you more relaxed
~Drink some warm tea (watch out for caffeine)
~Write in a journal about your day
~Write down anything that you need to know for tomorrow
~Light a nice candle (remember to blow it out)
~Things to help you sleep
~Make sure you are warm enough. It is proved that when cold, you are more likely to have nightmares.
~Write in a gratitude journal. This can help you clear your mind about anything and bring out the more positive things before bed.
~Meditate. Meditating can also clear your mind so it is easier to relax.
~Decide that the day is over. Doing this gets your mind and body ready for tomorrow.
~If you needed to know
~ I understand that I have no idea what is going on in your life, but whatever you are going through, know that it is going to get better. Think about some of your worst days. You have made it through every single one of them so far and there is absolutely no point in stopping now. You are an absolute warrior for getting this far because life is harsh and it can suck for a while but it will get better. Trust me (: I just wanted to say I love you and you are a valid human being. Unless you are a lil duck. Then you are a little duck.Either way, you deserve all the love in the world.

@@blup7 I just hope some channel eventually will pick up the older cartoons that used to be broadcast by Cartoon Network in the nineties (well, in the Netherlands then at least).
Loved Dexters Lab, Cow and Chicken, The Powerpuff Girls, Two Stupid Dogs, and Ed, Edd 'n Eddy.
I had to look up when Cartoon Network disappeared in the Netherlands. I can remember that suddenly in 2000 or so, most of the cartoons got dubbed with Dutch audiotracks, which impacted Ed, Edd 'n Eddy the most from all the cartoons there were: Dexters Lab was bearable (although ofcourse, not realistic anymore), but most of the others were just horrible to watch. (I just read this was down to the Dutch division of Turner Broadcasting Company ceasing to exist).
If I remember it right, it was also the moment our cable-company decided to put it behind the decoder. Friends more south to where I lived could still view it freely, but I can remember that even a year after the analog shutdown in my area, none of the cartoons known to me remained, so I didn't even bother to ask my parents if they could pay so we could see Cartoon Network again.

@@weeardguy ohh YES! Cow and Chicken also a favourite of mine. We used to watch Cartoon Network via satellite in Zimbabwe. I don't remember ever watching it in NL.. such a pity how it changed. Reminds me of when MTV just played music videos all day 😀

Heyy! 10/10 for the nails, and the intro, that - welcome to"...my channel" - looking so cool :3 my dutch, improving. I've currently a big amount of words from many languages saved on my mind, as the Spanish+Catalan allow me to understand Italian, French&Portuguese and I like Japanese songs, so, just noticed that Germanic languages keep a similar essence and lexicon, which makes the dutchie not that hard. Then just remember V is = F, so is not Louis "B"an Gaal but "F"an Gaal for us. lol Btw Nanou not sure if you read the hundreds of mails you have, just I recommended you a skincare gel that I found at your age after I tried many stuffs, hope you read it just to give it a try, as it could work awesomely. @@blup7 I tell you the same thing that I have sent Nanou privately, because from experience I always recommend it. I had a very severe case of acne since I was 13 years old, and I spent like 3 years testing products, patches, etc. and it was by casuality that I was in another city that just before closing we went to a pharmacy and, the man who attended us , recommend a gel called Lutsine Bactopur. In theory, it is a gel to clean and rinse, but, before sleeping, or during the day, if you put a little gel on each inflammation / rash, what it does is reduce inflammation, and, it dries the skin layer by layer, then it peels off layer by layer, and then the skin renews itself, leaving it like a baby's skin. Now I also understand that it is important not to explode a pimple, cause you leave there a hole, but to always use a needle - after burning it as usual to disinfect it - and with a needle and caution, you avoid leaving a mark on the face. It is very common in the temple area to have marks when you suffer from this problem, so you have to be careful. Hope it serves someone.
It makes me happy that you’re this young and write in cursive, it’s not a requirement in most schools here in America. I remember when it was when I was a kid and I wish they’d bring it back!
it is not special here at all tho, 90% of people here write in cursive as it is taught at young age. We dont even call it cursive, we call it “writing letters,” and we call typed letters “block letters.” if you write in these block letters on a test for example, especially in primary school, they count it as wrong. the only people who write in cursive are those wannabe perfect girls in middle or high school.

the first one is easy because station and stadium and english words as well except a station is a place you can stop for a specific purpose like a gas station or a rest station or police, fire, etc. and a stadium is where we play sports so like a basketball stadium or football stadium etc.
Well, when you talk about a station in Dutch, either being in Belgium or the Netherlands, people will most likely think about a trainstation, not anything else related to the word station. It's only when you put a word in front of station it can have a different meaning in Dutch. 'Pompstation' or 'tankstation' for example is referring to a place where motorists stop for filling up the car with petrol.
'Politiestation' or 'brandweerstation' like used in English, is something I have never heard in the Netherlands: we talk about 'brandweerkazerne' (for the firestation) and 'politiebureau/politiepost' (for the police) The Belgians could use it however.

Rondpunt is Flemish for roundabout and Rotonde is Dutch for roundabout.

I can speak Afrikaans and Dutch is very similar to it.
A lot of words are said and the spelt the exact same in both languages. It's quite interesting.
