I have a pair of the Mammut Trovat Tour High GTX. An absolute beauty of a boot. Had them for two months now and thrown them about a bit up on Dartmoor, Devon, of which I live on the edge of. Comfortable, solid build, great lace system, excellent grip, ankle, memory foam, padded support is superb, and the rocking design of the sole, helps when clambering over the dartmoor terrain. Highly recommend the model I have for sure. I'm sure the ones in this video are equally as good.
I know I responded to your other video but these are great boots. The only negative (and its not a small problem) I've found is Mammut sizing is a bit odd. 12UK is too small for me and 12.5 is mostly OK but a bit looser around the left heel than I'd like. I can fix this with lacing but they don't feel nimble as say Scarpa which fits me a bit better. So I'm aware of a compromise fit and it's a bit irritating. The sizing up also makes the boots heavier so I'm carrying 2kg of boots on mountain hikes. Despite loving Mammut build quality and design the likelihood is I go back to wearing other brands. My wife on the other hand seems to have the perfect Mammut foot in a size 8 and she can wear everything they make with comfort. Foot shape, length, width and volume are key to getting a good fit. The Brecon, which you loved, was made on a special UK last and it works better for the average UK foot than their regular lasts.
Considering buying these as available at a good price online. Wondered if Andrew you could share a quick update one year on. I am particularly interested as the waterproof qualities of the Nubuck leather as the other pair I am considering is full grain and I generally prefer full-grain leather boots. Many thanks.
I thought of buying my first trail boots then saw these for €150 and got them. I usually wear size 42 (Germany) sneakers so I got these in 42 2/3 and I have to say that they feel a bit narrow and I don't know if that's how it's supposed to feel like. I'm also hesitant to return them because I've gotten them for such a good price. Do you maybe have any tips on how to know if they're the right size?

You have to have the correct size. Even if you have had a bargain, I went a size larger and always do on walking boots.
Hope this helps
Andrew.
@@andrewmorrismyvalleyandbey7972 I understand, thank you for the quick response. I'll probably go into a Mammut store and try different sizes
I would to be sure.
