So I’m one week in wearing these boots and so far so good. Not tested them in full wet weather yet as Devon is experiencing some prolonged dry spells, but I’ve spent a number of hours on Dartmoor with the boots.
Will wait a few months before I give a detailed review. I want to put them through the winter up on Dartmoor.

@@kinocchio ok, so, I've had the boots for just over a year and I can say with all certainty that they are superb boots.
When I say I've put them through the toughest of tests, I have. Dartmoor has been harsh at times, with my boots being submerged in the thickest, muddiest bogs, submerged in waters, clambered over tors, they've been whacked, they've been on woodland walks, park walks, freezing temps, mild temps and these boots have taken it all. Oh, and I've been out walking for several hours as well as short walks and the comfort levels stay the same....tip top 😃
They are super comfy, warm and extremely waterproof. Being nubuck though they do take up to 48 hours to completey dry out, depending on how wet they get.
I always wash them under a tap (faucet for US audience) if they've gotten dirty rotten and I've reproofed them with nikwax every 5-10 wears. I trust they'd stay waterproof without the 5-10 wear reproofing but I want to look after these gem of a boot.
They are a very rigid boot so if you are looking for alot of flex then these will not be right for you.
The ankle support is a joy. Not once have I rolled the boot. The way they've been designed sees them not sitting flat on even surfaces. They have a purposeful rocking to the boot which aids ones gait.
Also, I've pulled so hard on the laces and they are super strong. I wear the boots good and tight which then sees the memory foam padding around the ankle support come in to play.
I've only had a poor pair of Peter Storm boots and a pair of Berghaus Hill master II GTX to go by but I'm confident in stating that these mammuts take some beating.
I recommend reading the 'Staff Review from the manager of Taunton Leisure. He has compared them to three high brand boots that he usually wears and he states that these Mammuts are his go to boots now.
Oh, and I went half a size up and I tend to wear with thick socks. In store, I found my size (11) to be a bit to tight fitting. But, exact sizing might be needed for others.
Honestly, these boots are brilliant. And they can be found for less than the RRP of £200+ on various sites. I was fortunate to have Taunton leisure price match them for me at the time of purchase.

@@kinocchio from what I've read, the Trovats are a better boot for more long distance walks and better for more rugged terrains.

Hi, I am looking to see whether you should take a size up from normal shoe size, I am a f width foot and wondered if this boot would be suitable for me,any advice welcome

If it's an F on the width I think that these boots maybe be to narrow for you. Although they are a little wider than average they may not be right for a width F. You could take a look at the Altberg Tethera in a wide or extra wide or the Hanwag SF banks
Both of these boots offer a little more width and maybe more suitable
Thanks! How would this be compared to Trovat Guide II High GTX? I am looking for a boot for multi-day hikes on various terrains but I am just worried about stiffness being too much as I don't want discomfort on my feet over long miles. How does this boot hold up for that?
Looks a nice boot how’s much are they please 🙏as my scarpa boots now are breaking up on the side of the sole not good for a boot of this make which I brought from you a few years back thanks

Hi, I have an option between Trovat Tour High GTX and Trovat Advanced II High GTX - is it worth getting the advanced version? I I think both fit me well, but I'm not very experienced hiker and Tour version is little bit cheaper. Could you give me an advice?

@@tauntonleisure Sure :) So I already have some lightweight hiking shoes for some easy tracks with family. I'm looking for something that will help me get through upper parts of Carpathians (and maybe even Dolomites) on summer/spring, and some easier tracks in winter. Overnight hiking for 2-3 days trips definetly sounds like an option too.
Would these be a 'step up' from the Mammut Sapuen??
Hi, yes this boot is a stiffer more robust alternative to the Saupen. The Trovat would be better for longer distances and rougher ground.

Hiya Steven, Mammuts Headquarters are in Switzerland, But there products are produced around the world depending on the materials used.

So, I live on the edge of Dartmoor. It’s a harsh, cold, wet, boggy place in winter and I get up there for walks a lot. Is this boot up for the task of Dartmoor?
Im looking at the Hanwag Tatra 2, Scarpa Terra 2 gtx as well. How do these mammut compare?
Good morning, The Trovat is definitely up for the task. in comparison, to the other boots you have mentioned, it is stiffer so will offer more support on uneven terrain. It also had a slightly more aggressive lug pattern. This will offer enhanced grip over the other models and due to a large heal break will give you more control on wet muddy descents. we have the Scarpa Terra and Trovat in our Exeter store if you would like to compare them in person!
