S2: Honestly can't believe the wife was able to reel her daughter back in, especially with that bs statement of "your real father is sitting right next to you." She doesn't know who her bio dad is even after all these years and said anything just to butter up OP. I don't think OP's a doormat, but this is just how toxic people work. Even if she decided to be a good wife and mother for all those years, it doesn't erase her cheating, almost breaking her family, the feelings OP and his daughter had to deal with, and now the a$$ kissing she's doing just to get back in with her family. If she was really remorseful, she should've pushed for a divorce and left them alone.
Story 2 - I agree with many things OP did but I would've made her take a polygraph test because he may not have found any evidence but that could just mean she's good a covering her tracks but she can't hide from lying in that case
Polygraphs are junk science. They only tangentially measure how nervous you are. They’re beatable by just keeping calm. Should have kept the kid and ditched the ex. That’s a lot of time invested and she immediately took his side. I did catch one thing the wife said, though. “She apologized for saying she picked me because I was the most financially stable”. My brother, that was the actual TRUTH! She’s been knocked off her game and didn’t have time to concoct a pretty lie. This dude let her have days to polish her approach and come back at him.
