Ok, as a streamer of 4 years that has a wave 1, but I have struggled so much both understanding but more importantly having many teething problems, and problems using the wavelink software. Crackling audio, constantly having to reboot wavelink, or obs, or both, a nightmare tbh. Let me just say, and believe me I’ve watched so many videos,I have fell lucky, I’m about to instal the new update, both as it’s bothering me to do so, but now I’m at a point we’re i think I need a fresh set up because of my problems, and I stumble upon your video as the very first one. So let me just say, this video is truly outstanding, take it from someone who,HasI struggled so much on my stream Last nights stream was a prime example, (Same name if you want to go check what my problems were,twitch,and when I start gaming) So wish me luck as I’m going to follow this from start to finish. So I'm new to elgato, just got my mic tonight. I like the quality so far, and this video has helped me a ton. I have ran into an issue though, whenever swapping my focus from a browser to the game I'm playing, there is a noticeable "audio channel change" and it makes all audio currently coming to my headset echoy and a little bit louder. Also did some testing in discord, the mic is coming through extremely choppy, but when I listen to it via Wave Link, it sounds perfectly fine..
Is it plugged into your pc via usb 3.0 and not 2.0? Also, I assume you have put your different apps onto their own audio channels. If that still does not work, feel free to join the discord and we can help

There still seems to be a lot of confusion because of decent explanation online of what the master output should be set to - for many people including me, setting it to the default it was before installing Wavelink does NOT work - causes all sorts of audio problems in stream echos etc.. another youtuber said to set it to "Wave Link System" and this seems to work fro me... so in my headphones I am listening the the actual wave link output in my headphones... instead of computer sounds going to my headset and then the wave link output also going a fraction of second later and getting echo. Also need the output set to "Wave Link System" so all the game sound goes into the wavelink "System" channel - otherwise there is no game sound in stream.
Your way have one problem. If you set up discord to use your default Elgato Mic In, all of your effects not gonna apply to discord. So your mates gonna hear your raw voice without any effects.
What if I also have desktop speakers and a tv with a sound bar that I'd also like to have on mute until I decide I want to unmute them? I happen to be switching from VoiceMeeter.
Discord you can set in Discord no need to do so in the settings app. prob best to set it in Discord as windows tends to reset these routings at times. hell some games you can set in the game.. basically what I am saying anything you can set in the game or app itself its best to do so

In stream mix (wavelink) it has my capture card and mic “greyed out” and I don’t see “wavelink stream” in options, it’s just set to STREAM MIX , NO ADDITIONAL OUTPUT DEVICE

What if you wanted to hear yourself on the mic thru your headphones connector the mic well it give you a loud beep noise like when your to close to a speaker I believe it did that to me

Great settings and definitely helps. I do have one issue I can't fix though. Each morning after waking my PC all the settings from the plugins reset to default and I can't save them and have to redo them each day. (Guessing unless I buy the full versions?)
Hey Retro Pyro, I am dealing with this issue as well. So far I have not seen that you need to have the full version to save the settings though, looking at the description for Renegate for example. I will continue looking myself, however should you find something in the meantime, please do not hesitate to let me know.
I just took a further look, and see that for example with TDR Nova you can create a ZIP file, which saves your presets. Then, once you start your PC the next day, you can simple go to the cog-wheel at the top right -> local data -> import ZIP. This should work every time, we just need to make a habit out of doing so. The same goes for the T-de-esser, as well as Frontier (this one only has a 'save' button, so let's hope this is enough). For Renegate, the most important in my opinion, I see none of these options. However for now this covers almost all options, so I hope you can find some use in this. -Junyao

Okay, I just cannot find a solution for my problem - am I really the only one having it? I don’t want anything special. I got the rode procaster and the Elgato wave xlr. All I want is to use wave link to apply some audio treatment in order to make my voice sound better and to remove unwanted noise. Then I only want to use this improved voice sound in applications such as discord, for example. So I just got one single channel (the microphone, via wave xlr), applied some VSTs and this is it. Now I got two questions: 1. Now that I applied the audio treatment, I just want to hear how I sound, UPON the application of these VSTs, of course. How do I do that? 2. in discord, what channel do I have to select as „input“? „wave xlr mic in“ or „wave link stream“?
my mic is on and has the led indicators and i can mute and hear myself when i plug in my headphones however the software and my computer wont detect any sound from the mic idk why

Great guide! You missed one thing though, the new updated added a MicrophoneFX source so you access your microphone audio both pre and post processing

Yes. MicrophoneFX will deliver the sound with VSTs
@@mikokb I did microphoneFX and MIC in to see if there was a difference in sound to me everything sounds the same with both and I had VST on for both

I got with the vst a problem when I click on plus button I don't get dynamic and all that's stuff it only says the program for me

I had the same thing but just try click or drag it in different directions. Took a little bit of clicking for me to get it to move
