In my mind Frank Zane always has represented the best of what bodybuilding was and should be. He didn’t pack on mass just for the sake of being “the biggest.” Rather, it was always about quality and SYMMETRY! That’s why he is a legend and on top of that, one of the classiest guys ever to be involved in the sport. I hold him in the highest regard for all the aforementioned reasons.

@@NicandroVisionMotivation ....i remember when they were saying his NAME....on par with BARISHNIKOV....MICK JAGGER....NUREYEV....he was that STUNNING....it's obvious that he was going for MICHELANGELO....DaVINCI REALNESS....and he ACHIEVED IT....he is a TRUE SYGMA MALE...very SELF DIRECTED....he taught high school CHEMISTRY....PHYS ED....he practiced ARCHERY....he was MARRIED....and had his own SPA.....he is ARTICULATE...his posing at the MUSEUM....with ED....and ARNOLD....when HE POSED....it was COMPELLING.....he LITERALLY....SUSPENDED REALITY......ARNOLD was INDEED the STAR of the EXHIBIT....and the MOVIE...PUMPING IRON....however ZANE was the WHAAAAT FACTOR...i could see ARNOLD was trying to UPSTAGE HIM....while CANDACE BERGEN was shooting ZANE......and even in your clip i see where he ducks OUT OF FRAME while ZANE was being interviewed....he did NOT want to been seen GENUFLECTING TO ZANE....i have to say that ZANE....for quite a while was so POLISHED...he was COMPELLING....that is the EFFECT he had on the world of FITNESS and BODYBUILDING....he was....A WALKING SPECIAL EFFECT....BEFORE CGI....there was ZANE...
My favorite was Dorian Yates mainly for his training style, intensity and how hard/dry and lean he was. Like he was sculpted from granite.

Frank Zane was to body building what Eddie Van Halen was to rock guitar. The finest performer, finest balance, unique in all aspects to his peers. In spite of the spotlight on Arnold, Zane was the most iconic of all the body builders.
What I really love about Frank Zane is his magical and mysterious persona. He’s truly magnificent. He’s calm and focused and those two qualities along with his marvellous and perfect physique with outstanding symmetry and proportions made his appearance and presence even more appealing. He truly has a charming and charismatic personality and jaw-dropping physique. Mind-blowing stuff! 💪🙏👍👑

With modern nutrition and protocols it's actually possible to get very close to Zane's physique naturally. His book was the first piece of bodybuilding literature I had as a teenager. It shaped my outlook for good.

I used to have the old Iron Man magazine with Zane on the cover holding a sword (not above his head but in front at his waist) and doing a kind of most muscular. Incredible physique: the detail, the pec-delt tie-in, the obliques, the balance, the conditioning (not freaky but it was the 70s). Mind blowingly great body. Deserving of his 3 Mr. O wins.
He’s truly a legend! The most perfect aesthetic physique of all time. His physique is best described as a masterpiece. Unarguably the god of aesthetics and an huge inspirational figure. 💪👍🙏

Zane is the one bodybuilding who gave me the most inspiration when I first started working out in the mid 70’s, his development was attainable in my mind.

My name is Michael Ball and I'm from Venice Ca originally and at Mark Twain Jr. High you were my math teacher.You were a good math teacher also.It was always "cool" to tell people that I had a great bodybuilder for a teacher.I'd see you on tv or in a magazine.I also had Mr. Waller for P.E. & he won a few titles in Bodybuilding also.What I do remember is the exhibition you put on and Arnold was there along with Columbu also Mr. Waller posed with a few others.There also was a couple people I knew from school that were into lifting weights,one being my friend Allan Smith and a student named Eddie.I don't remember his last name.I had you in 1970 or 71'.I too got into weightlifting for some time,though not to get real big but you had a influence on me healthwise and I wanted to thank you.
