the only truly noteworthy story behind these two games is that the snes version was developed by Blizzard, while the genesis version was developed by a company called Condor. The two developers didn't knew that Acclaim hired them to make basically the same game and got in touch afterward. That ended up with Condor pitching an idea to Blizzard and then ultimately getting acquired, changing the name to Blizzard North and developing Diablo. So... we have to thank these crappy licensed games and Acclaim's weird paranoia for Diablo, I guess?
It seems that many of the great things on life are merelly lucky casualities.
When Cause-and-Effect produces the best possible outcome.
Huh. . .
That's an awesome fun fact, thanks for sharing.
I had no idea. That's pretty awesome
Despero's stage (the bar in space, and you have to call it that because space bar gets confusing) has that Blizzard stamp all over it, which is pretty fun.
Your channel is my personal SNES knowledge archive, thank you! Love your content!
Agreed. He’s the man, and my go-to when looking for games to play
Mine too😅
If only Capcom had made X-Men: Children of the Atom just a couple years earlier, our SNES and X-Men filled childhoods could have been perfect.
Love the smell of SNESdrunk in the morning!
That didn't come out the way you had planned hey 😆
@SennaFan I know the line. But napalm isn't a man 😆
@SennaFan I work with a lot of men, can't say I look forward to smelling any of them in the morning, can't say I'd look forward to smelling SNESdrunk if I worked with him either lol.
Snnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnes drunk.
there is a patch for the Genesis version to make the special moves easier to do... thus making the Genesis version superior in every way
This was like Injustice for SNES. Damn, we came a lomg way.
this was made by Blizzard btw
@@AveMcree Doesnt mean it's any good. How many fighting games have they made since?
@@yellowmunchie9823 honestly hope they make one now.
LOL. If Blizzard made a fighting game now it would be trash and just a money-grab. They know nothing of the genre.
@@28Pluto It would be turn based. Lol.
I *loved* this game. It aligned with my Total Justice action figure line. It’s a little sluggish and simple, but it’s still fun. I prefer it to Mortal Kombat vs DC, for instance
If you are a big fan of JLTF, you should check out the free fan sequel developed over the last 3 years, TMNT x Justice League. You can learn more at TMNTXJL.com and see footage here on TH-cam or over on Twitter @TMNT_TF.
As a DC and fighting game fan I like this game despite its flaws , I used to rent it very often back in the day. Too bad Green lantern wasn't included in the roster of characters .
Let's not forget Cheetah's huge bouncy knockers. Game don't need anything else.
Mullet superman forever.
I must keep blocking Superman's 90s Jheri Curl mullet from my memory because I'm always surprised for a second every time I see it.
Same.
Born in the 2000's?
Hey at least they got the game out before "Blue lightning powers" 90s Superman.
1970s, so I was around for it. Which is why I said I must have blocked it from my memory.
Mullet Superman is how he’s supposed to look, to me. Modern superhero stuff is garbage.
Justice League Task Force is my personal favorite 2D fighting game from this time; I played a ton of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat also. I like how heavy the fighters feel in JLTF and the hard contact of their blows! I have three games today on SNES and this is definitely one of them! It is required to give this game time and not be unsettled by the difficulty to discover it's charm!
If you love Justice League Task Force, you should check out the fan sequel which combines the SNES cast with TMNT Tournament Fighters. We've worked very hard to keep the feel of the original games but improve upon them. You can learn more at TMNTXJL.com and see footage here on TH-cam or over on Twitter @TMNT_TF.
You talking about wanting X-Men on SNES makes me kinda wish that Capcom had done a SF Alpha 2-style SNES port of Children of the Atom. That would have been interesting. SFA2 is a surprisingly competent port, all things considered.
Absolutely loved xmen: children of the atom on Saturn. Brilliant game.
I missed the SNES as a kid. I had a Genesis, which is also a great console. I am going to get an Analogue Super NT as a Christmas gift. This channel will come in handy.
So are you enjoying your Super NT ? I enjoy mine for sure !
Love the videos! Excited for other content to come.
For the life of me I don't know how I ever derived hours of enjoyment from fighting games.
I love the Superman music theme in this game, not the kind of music you expect in a fighting game but very good.
Tht themes kickass
Love to see you do Children of the Atom/Marvel vs. Capcom series. Maybe Eternal Champions too I’d you want to do underground fighters.
Thanks for the videos :)
That Wonder Woman stage is an eyesore. I hate when they only draw half a background, then mirror it right in the center, thinking no one will notice.
I saw a screenshot for this game with Fire from DC comics in an old game magazine and to this day I never found an explanation to it.
So weird seeing the Genesis version on here after playing SNES so much. Graphics on Genesis seem a lot better than I'd previously seen in stills too.
I played the Genesis version and I liked it. This game is basically the 1990's version of Injustice.
love this game but im also a hardcore dc fan played it since i was a kid top 5 snes fighting game imo
Liked while the booting SNES drunk intro sound.
So glad you did this episode!
Remember playing this when I was a kid snes was life
Playing that game on super fast speed was crazy. So funny how fast a round can end😅
Oh man I loved this game. I've always been a huge DC fan, so this one was right up my alley.
I don't recall having the same trouble with the special moves, though.
Hey, someone else who remembers Video Update! I was such a pain in the ass at my local store, always asking for weird indie and foreign movies they didn’t carry. But they had that punch card deal where you’d get a certain number of rentals a month for a flat fee...
Believe it or not I have this on the genesis, honestly I’d love to see a remaster of this on modern consoles with maybe some bonus characters added from the fan made spiritual successor.
The original Injustice
Special move input was terrible on this game. The game looks great but playing it was too much of a chore to play for me. Great review!
Man, did I love TMNT Tournament Fighters as a kid. That game was so much better than I expected.
JL Task Force... not so much. It was mediocre.
You should check out the fan sequel to both games, TMNT x Justice League. You can learn more at TMNTXJL.com any see footage here or over on Twitter @TMNT_TF.
I remember renting this one as a weee lad. I dug it.
I remember this game fondly, the first night I bought it I beat it, we are talking about 1995 beggars can't be choosers back then. I was just glad to have a DC fighting game at the time
I have this game. I used to love it. Some the stages were so cool.
rented this game for genesis back in the day, and the AI has a huge flaw where you can low kick every single character into oblivion, so I ended up beating the game with all characters and watched all endings if I recall correctly
I so wanted to love this game when it came out. However it was so generic feeling, that I never beat it. Like you said just more of the same. Cheers, -J.O.
Before there was Injustice, Justice League Task Force pioneered DC fighting games with ultra-samey gameplay.
It’s a fun game, just unbalanced. A lot of people shit on it but there are worse fighting game cashins from that generation
I have both games, justice league and TMNT Fighters and Turtles is my personal favorite justice league controls was kinda slow, it was fun to play when bored but Turtles I still have awesome rivels in that game lol
As a fellow fan of both games, I strongly suggest you check out the fan sequel to both games, TMNT x Justice League. You can learn more at TMNTXJL.com and see footage here or over on Twitter @TMNT_TF.
i always liked that sound effect in the game when you throw someone "reeaaaahhhh" lol
I miss playing this game, Injustice to me was just an update to this game in restrospect
By any chance do you have an outdoor channel called 618 fishing?
Ha! He does have a similar voice! Different dudes though.
I think the graphics on the Sega Genesis version looks so much better, the Snes ones seem way too dark and small.
Objectively you might be right. But growing up with a snes, and knowing no one who had a Genesis… the overall Genesis art style always looks weird af to me. Like it’s totally foreign/alien, aesthetically.
i played when i had my snes in 95. it is a decent, reasonable game.
I was also a huge X men and Street Fighter fan. I didn't like this game at all, but I was in heaven when XvSF came out.
Superman's background is quite a bit different between the two versions, yet looks cool on both systems. I rented the SNES version when the game was new. I thought it was decent, but not more than a rental. Good to see your take.
No have a great rest of your day again? Hmm, well, I hope you have a great rest of YOUR day, man.
Green Arrow is my fighter in this game he fights for Felicity
You totally forgot to mention the absolute BEST thing about this game:
SUPERMAN'S MULLET!!!
I heard from someone Superman is broken in this game, you can keep using the ground pound and never lose. Not sure if it was this game or not.
That was m.k. vs. D.C. universe on 360 & p.s.3. Freaking annoying!
I love this game , so glad you posted this!! I’m always giving and now I get to receive
TMNTTF is one of my top favorite SNES games along side Killer Intinct and Super Metroid.
Also to mention the Super Nintendo game is better because it has unlimited continue Sega Genesis game has only three I'm sticking with the Super Nintendo
Would just point out - the gameplay may have bombed, but the sprite animation looks GORGEOUS. And you can automatically tell what time period this game must have been released in - because there's Superman with a f***ing mullet 😂😂😂
Look at that Ray Tracing in the Daily Planet and the forest stages!
by 95 X-men children of the atom was out on arcades? now THAT was a great game
I remember renting this. This was more comparable to Fighter's History imo. At least the music's good.
Great video. I own this game back in the 90´s. Good memories. Can you do a review of International Superstar Soccer? .....
Check back on Friday
This is one of the few fighting games I actually enjoy.
I totally forgot about this game. Glad this popped up in my recommended
Ironic that the game you wanted was coming out around the same time on other companies' consoles with Marvel Super Heroes on the PS1 in 1994 and X-Men: Children of the Atom on the Saturn in 1995, and their arcade counterparts for those lucky bastards who lived near arcades in the 90s. I never played MSH, but CotA was a damn solid game. Very much the Street Fighter 2 to JLTF's Mortal Kombat 1.
This was extremely hard to find when it was released. I also remember being quite disappointed, i was expecting an adventure story side scroller not a battle vs beat'em up
The trick to beating the computer in this game is to land combos by combining small strikes with larger strikes
I remember this game from back in the day, with mullet Superman and all. I remember it being alright, but me and my friend fell off of it pretty quick.
LOL!!!!! I wrote a letter asking for Power Rangers XD
Justice league task force gives me Smash bros vibes and fun fact there might’ve been a lost reskin starring one punch man characters like Saitama,Sensei Bang,Metal Bat,Tatsumaki,Genos and many others
SNES Drunk, I request that you review:
X-Men: Children of the Atom
Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems
X-Men vs. Street Fighter
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
Marvel vs. CAPCOM
Marvel vs. CAPCOM 2
Marvel vs. CAPCOM 3
Marvel vs. CAPCOM Infinite
Thanks!
I loved this game.
vids not showing up in my alerts again...
Have you ever reviewed , Hey punk are you tough enough!? It's a hilarious title and a hella 90s game
you should cover Fatal Fury and the other Takara developed fighters!
Have you looked into Weapon Lord? That’s an underrated game imo....
Yeah, it's on the channel: th-cam.com/video/SIJ5_o2voSg/w-d-xo.html
90's Kid: DUUUUUUUUUUUDE, The Sega Genesis is the most AWESOME game console EVERRRRRRRR! We're gonna play 'JUSTICE LEAGE TASK FORRRRRCE'! It's totally the same as reviewing 'Freak Force' because like, they both have 'Force' in their name. #AT4W
What characters did you want to be on the roster?
Also if you are into more marvel fighters There is also X men Vs Street Fighter, Marvel super heroes & Marvel Super heroes Vs Street Fighter
Turtles tournament fighters was decent. Never played this. I especially love each characters super move in turtles
Did you ever play xmen vs streetfighter?
I rented this one as a kid. It was so slow with floaty and inconsistent controls - and at times staggeringly odd silences as opposed to great music. Disappointing. Seriously, it was the most disappointing fighting game experience of my life up to that point, because I had no idea about these issues during all the time I anticipated it. The concept and screenshots looked great - it was only when you got your hands on it that you realized how lacking it was. So glad the developers went on to much better things! :)
If you want a fighting game with DC characters, I recommend you to play Injustice 1 & 2, which has good character designs, better battle moves and interesting stories.
The Genesis one was arguably better.
you did a great job reviewing this game. Justice League Task Force is without a doubt one of the worst fighting games I ever played. all because the special moves are almost impossible to pull off. if I'm gonna enjoy a good fighting game where special moves are easy, I'm gonna play Super Street Fighter 2 and Clay Fighter 2 Judgement Clay.
This game looks awesome. Love these videos.
At lease dc struck gold with the injustice series
To bad the animation is garbage
@@sladejosephwilson2300 injustice 2 hmmmm🤨🤨🤨
Did you disable playback of your videos on other sites for a good reason, I hope? :< I watch TH-cam with my friend on the website "Watch2Gether" every day, and videos that can't be played through their embedded share-TH-cam player end up being skipped and forgotten most of the time.
Dang it... I always catch myself saying "SNES DRUNK" at the start of the videos like a singalong... this one threw me!
At least you got marvel superheroes vs street fighter right?
I LOOOVEEED this game when I was a kid.
So this was the start of the Injustice series
Kind of surprised at how good the Mega Drive version looked. Seemed higher res.
I too was one of the snes marvel fighting game dreamers...
No one was really a DC or Marvel kid at this point. Everyone was about Image.
Lol does this start with Batman picking up Aquaman and biting his face like Zangeif?
The music was pretty good
Oh, the Super Friends ... Is Semen in it?
Are we just not talking about that Sylvester Stallone Superman or what?
Didn't know this was a fighting game :-O cool! & too bad your letter didn't get answered snesdrunk :'D
