Thank you so much for making this! My daughters and I are big fans of your music, and it's really cool to hear the thought and production behind your songs.
P.S.- My daughters are both below 5 years old, and they think your name is Cookie Fries.

Bro, I love your stuff. A little late to the party, but I made it. :) what do you put on those clean guitars? D.I. With some compression?

9:30 for my ears it's this kind of a "sus"-sound, so in this case i hear it as Bb7sus or in slash chord Ab6/Bb or Abmaj7/Bb which is also kind of a Fmin9/Bb :D I just love this Sus-sounds which often bring up kind of a gospel-feeling for me... anyway, really like your songs, keep going :-)

Also, it's kind of superimposing a II-V-progression to Ab, with the Bb7sus (or Bbm11)-sound - But since we don't hear the V (Eb7) or the I (Ab) it leaves us with this open and airy sound.

It's evident how much you love what you're doing and how much fun you're having putting your songs together, even without you song breakdowns. It's interesting hearing your reasoning behind your decisions, even if it is just "because I liked it"

This is awesome!! I absolutely love the way you write and having an inside look is so cool! I play piano and I've written. I tend to want to push what I "typically" might do or what sounds "normal" to try and discover "new" and exciting things with rhythm, key signatures, chord progressions, time signatures...etc. So I love hearing your music, and hearing the way you write is so inspiring! You're awesome!

Love this! And these kinds of tutorials! My take on why the bass worked to stay on the 4th was this: It individualized the players... meaning Bass says "You go back down and resolve to the 1, Imma stay up here on the 4 and setup the next bit". I second Andrew in the comments... was 5 seconds in and I'm like... He listens to Anomalie. Man what I would do to be a fly on the wall while your in the shed producing (not in a creepy way.)

Hi Cody, I just found you from Cory Wong's video. Your song sounds so refreshing to me ! Do you mind sharing the recording chain of your mic (sm7)? because I think it has a very low output so what did you use to boost the signal ? (some mic-pres?) thanks !
