I work for Home Depot, never again. I rather go homeless! Promises made, promises broken. I had a great Store Manager, family oriented, he work for Home Depot for 15yrs, they fired him during the pandemic, no one could figure out WHY? Before he found out about being fired, he promised me that he was going to keep me in seasonal with all my experience I had with lawn equipment & such. I was hired as seasonal for the season originally, after his firing the (store manager) they replace him with, was pure crap! And my opportunity was gone, they let me go at the end & the New Store Manager said this, I did a great job and I could reapply; I stated, if I'm already here & did a great job, why should I reapply? Silence! Even my supervisor was taken by it. There turn over rate is a joke. I'll say this; My dog has a higher IQ then some of the Store Managers.
Thank you for sharing your experience - that's atrocious behavior from them. It's one thing to mistreat workers, it's a whole other level to do it during a global pandemic.
As a former employee of The Home Depot you are absolutely correct. They have a revolving door, and are always hiring. They are also letting people go all the time even in a tight labor market where they are having trouble hiring people to fill open positions in their stores. When I gave them notice that was when they told me the payroll was cut in my work area, and they only had enough for three part-time employees. I was full-time. The location where I worked decided to pull stuff on me in an attempt to get rid of me. I was on to them, and was one step ahead of them. When they decided to write me up for being late twice due to a medical problem they had FMLA paperwork on, I went home, and contacted a former manager I used to work for who went to another company. I was offered another job the next day. When I gave my two week notice to The Home Depot, they responded by removing me completely from the schedule for my remaining two weeks on the schedule. When they did that, I just did not go back to complete my remaining hours shown on the printed schedule. The Home Depot was the worst job I ever had.
@@DearHumanResources As a former employee, I saw them getting rid of employees, and people were quitting during the height of the pandemic when most other businesses were ordered closed. The Home Depot was an essential business, and did not have to close. The employee turnover was also very high.
Mostly true. This IS the worst job I’ve ever had, only staying because it seems like a marketplace of trying to pick the least worst, worst job available. I blame myself for making a wrong turn somewhere in life. God help me.
😢I worked at Home Depot for 4 years and left because of pay. $18 for a supervisor position was not worth it because of the scheduling and you are practically doing everything by yourself let alone burning yourself out. Good job if you’re living with your parents
Very true, I'm 22, just out of college, and about to get my first career job. As I'm finishing up at home depot, my main takeaway was that I'm glad I went to school and aren't stuck here unlike some of my poor coworkers
I worked at Home Depot for 6 years from 2012-2018. First 2 years it was great then I transferred stores for a “better opportunity” biggest mistake of my life. I was subject torment after a few months after I whistleblowed to the awareline so mgt was out to get me but with no success. I dodged so many bullets and the only thing they gave me was clinical depression after the evil I endoured. I tell anyone who is looking for a job to stay away from hd or only work there if it’s temporary
This box sucks! I had an employee threaten to kick my ass in the store and management did nothing…the guy still works there. Customer service is dead at @homedepot.
I work at store 4148 in Pennsylvania. I've been there for 8 years and twice this year I've been given 2 bad reviews as a cashier. They like to medically discriminate. I have PTSD and I'm transgender. And I've even told my managers about it and they don't care. It's complete negligence.
@@bettyb1581 Order fulfillment is the worst. But I absolutely understand why someone thinks flooring is. There are few depts in THD that aren't miserable.
I work in lumber and we have shingles and concrete pretty heavy items and 75% of the guys are over 50 and shouldn’t be lifting those things especially when it’s returned it’s really sad to see like I would honestly just transfer them to something that doesn’t do more damage to them and one of them doesn’t even lift at all but I respect him and he left in following soon
I suspect I was gaslighted. Counseled after I clocked out for bad attitude. Couldn't communicate because was too old to be in their click. Learned what workplace psychological aggression WPA is first hand.
Sorry to hear about this, Sharon. The only way forward is to try and forget about them and move on to a better environment. Although sane work environments seem increasingly difficult to find...

Hope you found something much better!
Home Depot is horrible to work for its a wake up job that you have gone wrong in your life and need change

I can tell you it's true. They don't give a shit about associates anymore.
I can relate, I don't recommend anybody from anywhere to work at any Home Depot.

Thank you for sharing - it's amazing how vindictive management can get towards anyone that dares speak out.

I worked at Home Depot for 5 years and the treated me terribly. They showed a lot of favoritism at the store I worked at. The managers were horrible.

I worked at 4136 and it’s a complete joke with snitches and terrible management.
Sorry to hear your story, I start there in flooring next week.
I'm very lucky that the HD I worked at actually had pretty good management. The customers however, good god, I don't even think I need to elaborate.
Wow! I guess I am about to find out if any of this is true in my store, I start in flooring next week.
Good luck! Hopefully everything is fine at your location
Update?
