People, all of you having second thoughts about Zontes, let me remind you that the all-powerful and proud BMW uses Kymco's engines for its luxurious and expensive scooters!!! That alone should tell you something! Now, about electronics? Even Apple's devices are manufactured in China in a factory that manufactures from the cheapest wristwatch motherboard to the most advanced devices!! For what is worth, back in my youth days, we would kill for a bike like this!!
@@culcune the whole g310 is really below what a BMW should be. The 850/900 engines are still a BMW design made in china by loncin. It's only the engine the bike itself is made in Germany.

These smaller capacity bikes are ignored by some which is a shame. Having a full bike licence they leapfrog straight onto bigger bikes. Me, I've gone the other way. I've had a full licence since 1981 and as I've got older, I've got fed up with the weight and complexity of big bikes and recently became very disillusioned and sold up last July. In December though, I bought a Honda CB300R and I'm loving it! What do they say about a small bike ridden fast is more fun? They're dead right too and I've recaptured some of the spirit that got me into bikes all those years ago 😏😁. It's a happy accident that many 300s find there way to the UK having been designed with other markets in mind - but thank goodness they do! It's the perfect capacity to have legal fun on with enough power to keep you out of trouble but not so much to get you in it 😁
Seriously considering a bike. And its between a benneli trk 502 (not the x) or a royal Enfield 650. Now that I have seen this I am.. really torn. Now speaking of made in China I have gotten over the arrogant snobbery that I once had. I ride a Daelim s3 scooter to work everyday. It's got 16 000 miles from new. I have never had to change the anything on it and I ride it hard. Never had a problem with it apart from relay. That controls the seat opening. So now I just use the key as I am too lazy to order a new relay. As regards build quality. It beats my old Yamaha x max. And as regards power its all at the bottom end and top end.mid range is a bit lazy. Point is why pay so much more for a bike than necessary.
Not just catching up but in some cases now overtaking the mainstream producers. Zontes are most definitely ones to watch. These latest bikes are well ahead of many Japanese bikes and yet are priced well below. This is one chinese manufacturer that few will laugh at now and deservedly so.
They know what people want, the only issue with chinese bikes like anyother product coming out of China is reliability and quality. Those 2 aspects are the only thing keeping people from buying it (not saying that it doesn't have 2 things)
We only had the early models needing the ECU changing as the temperature was set differently so the EML came on, made no difference to the ride though; that was solved by the second batch. We had 1 where it needed the inner gear change cog replacing as it wouldn't select all the gears. It was such a rare occurrence that they had to wait for the part to be made with the COVID restrictions etc, so Zontes UK replaced the bottom end. Other than that, no other issues. Been very impressed with these. That was the 125 models. On the 310's the early ones had small Lithium batteries, they were rubbish, half of them failed. Sadly the slot would only house a 4LB battery (what you find on a 50cc scooter) so needed charging a lot. The second version from last year went to a 10Ah Gel battery and were so much better. No issues after that at all with any part of the bike.

@@motorsforthemasses hello, I didn't think anybody was actually going to reply ha ha, someone said about the r310 was snatchy low down, if you remember, when riding along at constant throttle at say 30 mph did it feel like the bike was about to cut out or like there was a problem getting the fuel through, my dads bike a 400 single also uses a Delphi system and that sort of jerks about at constant throttle under 40 so when your rolling around town it feels like your shutting the throttle off then rolling back on again like it can't decide wether your accelerating or decelerating.
Had my S250 for a couple of months now, (an ex-demonstrator with 200 miles on it, although 3 years old) I can only say that the service from the main and local dealers has been fantastic... I’m back riding after 16 years and enjoying every moment... I’ll give it a year but looking to upgrade to one of the 310’s next year. Everything is running great on the bike but having to remove the plastic on the tank to check the oil is a pain... I hope this has been sorted.
They sorted everything. Zontes come europe in 2016 generally. They add ABS and major updates on S250 in 2017 and 2018 they make everything sorted. Their problem is they do a lot of versions for 1 bike, probably because of different market needs. If you check recent S250 its monster with no problem. They update and fix everything. Also 310 series in 2020 major updates came. They need to solve this. If you release the bike you can't major update in 1-2 years. You need to sell 3-4 years without problem and you start to make updates and then you make big updates.
