Hey guys, thank you so much for these videos. Ive bought your 4 wheel disk brake conversion kit and installed it in only 4 hours thanks to your video. Now im just waiting for the video that shows how to install the e-brake and how to bleed the brakes.
love this series. Almost everything I've been thinking about doing in the future is being done so I get a good idea of how difficult it will be. Nice job guys
It is a pity that a very important part is missing. How is the new proportional valve connected to the hard lines, which have a different length and shape and are not intended for this combination?
I'm working on 67 mustang and the original cable fit perfectly, didn't have to use new cables. but I had to cut coil spring off old cables by caliper. the old cables have a spring wrapped around cable, I carefully cut it off and installed it (new calipers have a spring installed) the old spring gets in way ...fit perfectly just had to adjust cable to take up slack close to transmission
Great tutorial I really appreciate as I am planning on doing this on my 66 soon. On a side note why does every automotive show have the generic blusey/roadhouse background music?
I noticed it's been a year and there's still no e-brake video. Is it because that the random assortment of parts that come with the kit don't actually work? The instructions say: "The parking brake cables are supplied to bring you to a central point, It (sic) is the customers responsibilty (sic) to tie the cables into the system!" but I can't seem to find any combination of parts (new or old) that can connect the Eldorado single piston calipers "using the front and middle sections of the original drum cable setup". A new video would be very, very helpful.
@joelreed9763 ai just installed all this crap on 😢. Booster supplied wasn't even the right one for the vehicle had to buy another one and customize the fire wall to fit it.
Are there individual part numbers for each caliper, pad, and rotor? I want to make sure I can order parts and grab them off the shelf if I'm ever on a road trip and have an issue. I've been avoiding Willwood/other high performance brakes because no parts store carries their pads/rotors on the shelf or in the warehouse.
9:16 My front disc kit came with races inside the hub and races on the bearings. Do I only need the races inside the hub? My inner bearing can still move between the race and grease ring.
I am looking to convert 4 drums on my 1965 Mustang to disc with new master cylinder and a booster if available. If this is not a good set or kit anyone have experience with another kit? I have v8 front spindles and my rear axle offset measured 2 1/2 inches so I believe this is a 9" axle.
Anybody know what the labor cost of all this is? It's easy to buy the kit but I want it done right and don't trust myself...I have a 65 fastback with drums all the way around...
WHOOPS I prematurely bought this kit and didn’t notice it was for a v8. I have an inline 6 1966 mustang. Will this be a problem? I read some things about the steering and spindle may need to be adjusted but I can still use this kit 🤔 someone help me please haha
It shouldn't be a problem a lot of these kits are standard. Look at their web site and see if there is a different kit. I doubt it. Fortunately for me my little Lincoln came 4 wheel disc. If she ever gets wrecked I can drop everything into a nice old mustang.
It will definitely be a problem the six cylinder with manual brakes doesn't have enough travel on the pedal the pivot point where the master cylinder pushrod hooks up doesn't have enough throw you will only get three quarters of an inch of travel at your master cylinder and you need at least two inches the geometry for the disc brakes is completely different
My 66 has all drums right now. Can I upgrade to these front disks and reuse the drum power booster and drum dual master cylinder? Is there any benefit in going manual with front disk brakes?
You can keep the old master cylinder. But you will need a disc/drum proportion valve or distribution block already set up for disc to drum. If I am correct you can use at 67 master cylinder, they have the same 1inch bore. It was the first year for disc brakes for standard mustangs.
This kit has been nothing but a pain in the @ss! Heavy modification had to be done to get things to line up and once installed the line that connects to the front of the M/S LEAKS im at a loss and disappointed. 1966 mustang fastback
For the love of christ and all that is holy do not use this kit and especially that distribution block, you will go mad tiring to make it work, also that is not a 4 wheel disc brake master cylinder, get one if you are doing 4 wheel discs.

Thank you! we are having fun with the build.
When is the e-brake part coming out? I’m installing this kit but I’m stuck on the e brake installation
When are we going to get the E brake video you mentioned.

excellence at its best as always!
Where is the "future video" for the e-brake hook up?
I really need that E-Brake video. I am stuck on that part of the install right now.

at way too high a volume level, lol
Thx for your videos, how much difference will be on a 1966 6 Cylinder 3 sped manual ?

Update: pulled all of this crap off and installed Wilwood.

Hey guys! I’ve got the 1965 6 cylinder with 4 lug wheels at the moment, is this kit suitable for that set up too?
I just clicked likes from 65-66 lol
Awesome!!!

Will this kit fit a manual transmission? Video stated Automatic. If not is there a full wheel disc brake conversion kit available?
Is the short throw adapter sold separately??
I need a kit exactly like this but for a manual, is there anywhere I can get one?
Will 14 inch rims still fit with this conversion i have a 65 falcon want to do this
If i just wanted to do front disc conversion only , would i use the same proportioning valve?
Will this kit also work for converter on a 1966 falcon with a V8?

is there a limit on using the stock size 14/15 inch wheels or will you have to go to 16/17 inch wheels?
Need to use 15” or bigger rims 👍🏻
How much might this differ if you had a 67 mustang with 289 engine?
E brakes??
Is it the same for manual as well ?
Do you grease the bearing on the axle ?
Can I get this kit with wildwood breaks?
I wish that has a video for a 69 coupe

Who's kit is this Leed Brakes ? or is it a no name kit ? the link just says cjpony.
It is a private label kit we put together and offer under the CJ Classics brand.

Horrible kit I would never buy it again and if you are looking don’t buy it it is an absolute nightmare
The video made it look pretty straight forward, is this an issue with installation or parts?
