    I've also used blue painter's tape to imprint the phrase on and then fill in with black marker if it is an important gift for someone. Then, I stick the tape to the silver bench block to size it up perfectly.

    In order to know where to start, I always find the center of whatever material I am stamping and I mark it. Then I find the center of the word or phrase that I am stamping. For instance TO BE OR NOT TO BE is 13 letters. The seventh letter "N" is the center of the phrase. The "N" will be the first letter that I stamp. I would line it up with the center mark and then work outward in each direction. That way, I am pretty certain that my stamping is centered.

      +VirgoMoon9675 I do a similar thing, only I count each character including spaces, then start in the middle and work out. So the phrase TO BE OR NOT TO BE is 18 characters, the middle two being N and a space, so I put the N on one side of the halfway mark and the space on the other. In the end, there isn't a whole lot of difference between our two methods.

    Edge of the stamp stick with edge of the bracelet is the key thank you so much I was wondering how to make them well lined up

  • @green5sing
    @green5sing 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I've tried the "find the middle and stamp backwards and forwards from there" and I always get off going backwards. I suppose my mind just doesn't work that way. I have found it easier to quickly take a slip of paper and a soft bead mat. I push the phrase into the paper, take a pencil (if I can't see it) and quickly shade it in if needed, and then size it up to the actual material (pendant or bracelet blank) that I am going to imprint. This gives me a perfect centered piece that goes forward. I use the paper piece to make sure I'm spacing correctly from time to time.

    Is the Vintaj permanent ink, better then enamel markers? And dose it fade over time?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The vintaj ink is durable but it can fade over time when jewelry is worn heavily. We haven't noticed much of a difference in wear between the ink and enamel markers, but the ink is easier to apply thickly so you may get a more durable result depending on how much ink you used.

    I just brought a kit and I think it’s the stamps that’s not really getting it so I’ll just get some impresses stamps because clearly I have all the supplies but just horrible STM’s so because most of them are backwards unless I’m just wrong

    • @beadaholique

      Huh I'm not sure I've ever heard of backward stamping. You mean the imagine they stamp is reversed? Raised where it should be sunken? That sounds really annoying! Here's our selection of ImpressArt tools for you to look it: beadaholique.com/collections/impressart

      Hi. Can you tell the exact steps for this? I buy copper strips from rundown market area where they are already badly stained. So my steps would be 1) to clean those strips with brasso/tomato ketchup / baking soda 2) stamp letters and fill in the black ink 3) use a sealant ? I did few samples where I cleaned those strips, handstamped with ink and kept in my drawer for 3 days and it got badly corroded. The city I live in has high Humidity. As it was my first time I could not fill the ink properly so whilst cleaning it again the baking soda took off all the ink !!! . Please let me know the perfect process. Thanks for the video

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The blanks come in a 6 inch size that's a good one-size-fits-many length. Once you make the initial bends with the tool you can try it on your wrist and adjust the fit tighter or wider by hand. We've got another video demonstrating the bender tool that demonstrates a little bit of that process th-cam.com/video/p_WIeNDPKR4/w-d-xo.html

    Can you use a regular hammer with this? And how do you know how hard to push down on your hammer?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We recommend against using steel hammers. If you are using a steel hammer with a steel bench block or anvil, the energy from every hit will bounce from the block back to the hammer, creating a poor impression. A brass hammer is great for stamping as it's softer than steel, allowing the energy of the impact to go directly into the stamping blank. Just in case, the brass hammer in this video can be found here: www.beadaholique.com/impressart-brass-hammer-for-metal-stamping-1-pound-1-piece.html
      As far as how hard you should hit it, we recommend practicing on a scrap blank to gauge how hard to hit your hammer. Thanks so much!

Sales are very slow and when I look on places like Etsy, it seems the more popular choice is stamped metal pieces. I will stay true to my brand, but may try this out in the future.
