Hello! Can the ring bender be used to make stainless steel earring hoops? Also, is it possible to solder stainless steel? I'm sorry for the questions, but I'm trying to learn how to make jewelry and am having problems trying to make earring hoops because the stainless steel is so hard. Thank you very much.
It might be able to help with that but I don't thing your going to get the results you are looking for using it. Also why are you using stainless steel in the first place? When it comes to soldering stainless steel that is a yes and no. So I believe you can use soft solder on it to joint things together but it will be very week. You can weld it but that is going so cost a lot for the tool starting at like $2000 up to $10,000. My suggestion is to work with silver or even start practicing with copper and then move to silver.
@@GomeowCreations thank you for your quick response. I like stainless steel because it doesn't tarnish, and other metals do tarnish. I want to make and offer hoops to my maker friends.
That is true but it's also very hard to work with due to it being very hard and needing a lot of heat to work with if you are doing any kind of welding. I know that stainless steel is also a very cheap material but the tools to work it are very expensive. Copper will tarnish like crazy and reacts with a lot of people's skin. Silver will also tarnish over time not no as fast and it can be easily cleaned. It also doesn't react with most people's skin. So it's really going to be up to you and how you go about doing this but I would go more the way of silver over steel if this is going to be something you want to do long turn and make a small business from or something like that.
Thanks for the demonstration! This is such a great tool, but I like you showing how to do it without this tool as it will be a long time before I will be able to get one.
Thank you for this video, I just purchased and received my Pepe ring bender and love it, My question is what kind of wire are you using and where do I purchase it?
I like how you have your table set up so you can bolt things down on a non-permanent basis. What is the size of the inserts that are inside the table and the size of the screws that go into them?
Didn’t explain why I would use a 16 dye and. Or a 20’for each size ring ? I watched a video of someone making a size 7 ring and used a 16 dye but didn f explain why he used that size and not a different size so is there a written formula to say what dye to use for what size ring u making
You can but it will be a lot harder to do than if you used silver or silver plated spoons. Here is a video all about that. th-cam.com/video/CMa0_Xktf7k/w-d-xo.html Let me know if you have any other questions. 😁👍
Possible dumb question, but why have the metal dies and posts if they mark the metal when they have the delring material that doesn't? Is there a use for the metal dies and posts that the delring can't handle? A wee bit confused. Also, I punched in your code and it only wants to give me $15. off. :(
hi! I wanted to buy it for a long time and now I finally decided to... is the discount still avaible? I tried but I don't think so. Anyways thank you for your videos cause they have been life/work changing! Thank you for your time, Alice.
I imagined but it was worth trying :) I really hope this tool'll be as good as it looks, especially in bending spoon and such for making rings. I saw your other video and the result looked very good with no marks on the final project. Thank you again from Italy!
I have an older version, I believe. All the parts are metal, no Delron! Do you know if Pepe is selling just the Delron parts? I hope that life is treating you better, I appreciate you videos!
So these are the ones that I have in this video pepetools.com/products/delrin-post-set-for-superior-ring-bender?aff=9 and pepetools.com/products/optional-delrin-dies-for-superior-ring-bending-tool?aff=9 But if you have a different bender that is the older version you might be able to used this on pepetools.com/products/delrin-die-for-186-00a-heavy-duty-bender?aff=9
Although you used matching dies - I think you should have used 1 size larger to compensate for material thickness - then you wouldn't have edge created dents in the material.
The number on the die is surely the diametef not the circumference. Your verier guage even proved that. Surprised no one else has picked up on that in all this time.

Glad to see you bend that thick square wire, looks like a good way to bend triangle wire or 1/2 round around a bezel for decoration!
Very nice review. Please update us in the future on the Delrin dies and how they hold up over time with use. Congrats on the tool.
This is an extraordinarily well done video
Pepetools is the holy grail of jewelry making. Well priced. Very good quality.
Yeah they are very nice tool, they do cost more than the cheap rip off tools but they are well worth it 😁👍
Hope things are looking a little brighter for you.
Things are a little better but I still have a long way to go. Haha
Thanks for the demonstration! This is such a great tool, but I like you showing how to do it without this tool as it will be a long time before I will be able to get one.
The plastic looking ones are made of Delrin. Great material!!
I bought a 'second hand' ring clamp. It clamps the ring for soldering. Great video.
You always have the cool tools. Ill definitely check this out. Thank you.
👍
Excelente vídeo explicativo. Obrigado por compartilhar seus conhecimentos. Parabéns pelo seu trabalho.
Oh my goodness, I need this tool! Thanks for yet again another awesome video! 👍
No problem and this tools along side the new tool I got makes ring making super fast and easy. I will be making a video about it later 😁👍
It looks a very handy tool, was wondering if the 60 degree piece can be turned to use the 120 degree angle?
I just tried that and that works
Why does your size 16 mandrel produce a size 7 ring?
That mandrel is 16mm around so it was around what I needed to make a size 7 ring.
The bender looks like it would work great on wide ring bands, no taper.
Thank you for this video, I just purchased and received my Pepe ring bender and love it, My question is what kind of wire are you using and where do I purchase it?
Are you looking for copper, brass or silver wire?
What was you using before the pepetools, i want to get started making spoon rings but thats quite expensive to just try see if i like it or not
Hiya, nice one. When you solder the ring it will aneal, relax & open up the joint, better to bend soft metal.
Que grosor de varilla podria doblar? 3 o 4mm podria trabajarse en esta herramienta?
what number saw blade are you using
Normally 2/0 or 3/0 for most things I do.
What's the thickest gauge it will bend?
I like how you have your table set up so you can bolt things down on a non-permanent basis. What is the size of the inserts that are inside the table and the size of the screws that go into them?
4mm

what is the metal die used for generally used for ? it obviously metal !
On things that you can clean the tool marks that it leaves behind. 😁👍
I want to make rings for larger fingers. Would this work for ring sizes 10 and up?
Where do you find the silicone parts
They are not silicone but I think I have links to them in the description 😊
Can you put ring on it to reshape it?
Yes to a point.
Can you bend stainless steel spoons on this?
You can but it will be a lot harder to do than if you used silver or silver plated spoons. Here is a video all about that. th-cam.com/video/CMa0_Xktf7k/w-d-xo.html Let me know if you have any other questions. 😁👍
I bought a ring bender from amazon $100 how do I make a size 6...7...8...9 etc
Is the plastic Delrin?
Yes it is, I just didn't know how to properly pronounce it so I just said plastic 😅👍
Gottcha. Thanks for clearing that up. Nice vid.

Same. Only $15 off. I wondered if I was the only one having that issue.

Sadly know the discount no longer is available. Sorry about that 😅👍

Yeah I make bending rings and anything really pretty easy and just make sure you're using the plastic parts for bending and it won't leave any marks.

Although you used matching dies - I think you should have used 1 size larger to compensate for material thickness - then you wouldn't have edge created dents in the material.
Can I make rings with paperclips using this?
It very good . I like .
In making the ring, how come you didn’t use half round ?
Helo ! Do you can for me 1 set ?
I😂think that I would buy one of those for sure
The number on the die is surely the diametef not the circumference. Your verier guage even proved that. Surprised no one else has picked up on that in all this time.
Υπέροχα 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️💞💞💞💋💋💋💋🇬🇷
