Well wrap up review... Why didn’t you guys do full review like how u guys do the first drive reviews and the driven episode to compare the best C segment cars?? It’s gonna be 3 years since this car came to Malaysia.
Overall a good design, an all round performer. If you're not much of a fussy person, this could really be a great car for you. The 2016 Honda Civic had been one of the most anticipated car of the year and we've seen a lot of videos online even before its launching in Malaysia. Naturally, high expectations are set. Therefore, questioning about is this 'the best Civic' ever? Here are some points to take note: 1. Tail light is nice with LED however brake lamp still uses ordinary light bulb, which sacrifice some of the car's premium character. I believe we've seen so many other C-segment competitors having LED brake lamp as well. The front light is completely in LED, why could't the rear be as well? 2. It would be better if it's equipped with a shark fin antenna as the rear part of this car look quite 'empty' without any accessories added on. Unless you're willing to spend a few thousand more for Honda's Modulo kit. 3. The car itself is sporty, stylish and handsome! And it has 2 exhaust pipe! Oh wait, but why would you hide that double exhaust at the back?! If you have it, flaunt it! This car is suppose to look fearless on the road! 4. Not much of an issue but it would be perfect for it to have rain sensor, like the what Mazda 3 full spec model offers. 5. Wheels are nice but, once again, its somehow slightly out of match with the car's design. I mean, it looks almost like a coupe, but why don't you make its rim larger? 18 inch at least please? Okay, I know I'm getting a little bit fussy here. But the fact that the Mazda 3 is able to do so makes me question this feature a bit. 6. It comes without the Honda sensing package like what other countries offers. I was really looking forward to the lane assist and blind spot camera when I view the US model commercials. Bummer, Malaysia's variant does not carry this feature. 7. Great to have an electrochromatic rear view mirror, but If you pay close attention, the wiring of this electronic part is totally visible from the outside! I can suggest you an example, the 2012 Kia Forte also did offers an electrochromatic rear view mirror but its wiring is completely integrated inside the neck of the mirror. This is definitely a bummer when the interior of this car looks generally 'premium' but all of a sudden some wires just came out of nowhere. Oh. My. Gosh. I guess this explains the competitive price offered by Honda. 8. Once again if you do not pay close attention, never mind, the leather seat is just fine, but, if you're really a car enthusiast, you definitely know the quality of its leather could've been better. The stitches are also not very nicely sewn at some spots. 9. It has a neat and clean dashboard but like what the video mentioned, you now have to take 2 steps instead of just 1 to take control of the air conditioner's fan speed. Overall it looks premium but, some of the detailing and finishing can be too "plastic-ky". Its LCD screen with huge bezel looks nice, but bare in mind sooner or later you're gonna to leave a lot of your finger prints on it. Moreover, Honda's touchscreen interface can be a little boring. Not trying to be bias but, I mean, look at Mazda's Mazda Connect. 10. Steering wheel wise, the buttons can be a bit lack of maturity (in other words they look a bit childish for me), hard to press, and they also feels like its going to wear out after some time. Touch sensitive volume adjuster? Nice idea but once again, in the real car itself, it's just lack of the 'premium feel'. 11. Sitting in a normal position at the front passenger seat, the glovebox lid will touch your knees once fully opened, though its dampened. Unless you move the seat farther away to the back which could sacrifice leg room for rear passengers. In conclusion, the 2016 Honda Civic a good and stylish car, and it has every features that you need. But at some point, manufacturing wise, its just not good enough to be called 'the best civic ever' here in Malaysia (as oversea models offers more options and better features). There are going to be good impressions and disappointments when you experience the real car itself. As one of the leading car maker here in this country, I truly believe that Honda should invest more in terms of detailing and quality control to stay ahead of the game.
Some are design flaws but most of them are just cost cutting. Pretty obvious due to the insanely high tax. Honda has to sell it at a reasonable price so you get these irregular design implementations.

My suggestion, consider to review on the rear seat depth. Let's put a comparison between Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis. The Civic has bigger leg room in the rear seat compare to Corolla Altis is because it has a shorter seat, but in fact, the Corolla Altis's rear seat is more comfortable cause it has a deeper seat. Maybe the different in this aspect between Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis is not significant. But it might means a lot to smaller cars, like A-segment and B-segment. Especially cars like Persona (Old model), Saga, tend to look big and spacious, but it is very uncomfortable to sit in the rear seat, due to the short seat, the lower part of the human body is not rest well while sat.

This civic fc doesnt look typical civic design like the previous generation.Civic used to look skinny and sleek but this time its looks like civic has hit the gym.The front and the shape looks really nice but the back looks pretty busy and remind me of persona.No folding rear seats on this day is really dissapointhing though
The gadget particularly the "start-up by remote" function is very useful one. Turbo engine needs to warm enough before can go out to perform. But CVT? Totally shuts me. If I want to be eco-friendly guy, I would just buy a Prius straight.
Just saw this one speeding through the airport highway. Damn, idk about you Nice Guy, but the lights was turned on and all 3 ppl in my car thinks the rear light is sexy, just like jasonteow said.

Of cos Honda sense won't be available in Malaysia until the roads are properly marked. They wouldn't want a lawsuit on their hands for being blamed for any perceived system failings when the fault lies with the poorly marked roads.
Toyota Altis is boring....Honda? Well,xterior of Honda Civic is ugly...especially its big rear...reminds me of a wagon..view from the side, it does not sync harmoniously balanced from the front end up to the boxy rear.Mazda is beautifully designed but a tad expensive.The 2016 Proton Perdana is a good looking car with Honda touch-ups. Will buy the Perdana than the ugly 2016 Civic!
I'm so disappointed that we'll get this ugly Civic in Europe :( I loved the compact hatch look, and its practical sides (magic seats...) Now, we'll get this big ugly cow instead :(. Really not happy Honda user here.

CVT keeping the revs up to prevent turbo-lag actually makes sense technically. why not?
