  • Having reviewed the Civic in Chiangmai earlier on (evomalaysia.com...) I've finally had the chance to drive the Malaysian version. Not sure why but I kinda find ours drive slightly better, and the rear seats are not as soft as the ones I drove in Thailand.

    everything fine in this car, but wondering the rear seat, did u find comfortable bobby for long drive and also to get in and out from the car?

    anybody deciding between 1.8 and 1.5t should just get the 1.5 its totally worth it... but some of the interior materials (door arm rest, center console, aircon vent) are very plasticky

    Great review Bobby, was thinking to get this or the Elantra sport , Elantra every thing was good but only the red seat which I think is too over . Hope u can do a review for Elantra sport which is similar price tag to this Honda Civic and make a comparison . All the best

    The previous gen 9 Civic to me is a major let down. I'm a girl and even I balked at it when I test drove it. It's good Honda (and yes, Honda Malaysia) to perk up and improve their product offerings. I hope this will prompt other car manufacturers to give better equipment, especially for a certain Japanese brand here that seems to offer bare minimal specifications with nothing to go on other than reliability and resale value...

  • @johnmatthewlow88
    @johnmatthewlow88 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    One major setback to me is that you can't fold down the rear seats :(
    With the huge boot and rear passenger space, that would really help in loading long items, especially furniture from Ikea.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +johnmatthewlow88 it's a give and take, because it greatly aides sound proofing, and honda actually engineered a cross beam behind the seats, aiding structural rigidity.

    Honda CR-V and Civic 2017/2018 especially 1.5 turbo model, experienced serious oil dissolution or contamination problem in several countries. Since you touted the car as fantastic, sleek and well designed, what is your thought on this gas/oil leak issue?

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Means Honda's aggressive expansion has taken a toll on its reliability. Anf in no way they can be mentioned in the same breath as Toyota now i guess ... Malaysian market also receive plenty of feedback on reliability and quality issues ...

    After a very disappointing 9th gen, Honda responded with this 10th gen winner.
    I’m so glad I waited to buy the 2018 so any and all issues could be ironed out with the 10th gen model since it’s 2016 debut.
    What a ride! Very little turbo lag and tight handling. And if your a performance junkie, you can even mod this baby to squeeze out over 200 hp with 192 torque through the Hondata module. A super easy hack. Nuts!

    Ive been watching the reviews for both variant in youtube over and over again and still cant make up my mind to choose 1.5 or 1.8

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Kent Hoong let me help you with this. If the 1.5 is within your budget, go for it. Because the experience is something no Civic buyers has been able to experience for the past 20 years, that is to be able to keep up with the european turbo sedans on the highway and not being bullied off the fast lane by Jettas. But if you dont care about this, just wanted a decent car, then the 1.8 is by all means, a very good car. The new Mazda 3 GVC is coming next week, fantastic handling and really high end safety systems. A more high tech car than the Civic but slightly smaller interior

    • @ktstv3077
      @ktstv3077 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Bobby Ang I've tested the Mazda 3 as well, love the muscular exterior and plain simplicity yet high end feel of the interior. The feel you get from a Mazda is it's a driver's car. Civic, all rounder champ. Btw, looking forward for your review of the mazda. Thx!

    Bobby Ang - A question which i need your recommendation. Understand that the Honda 1.5 TCP tyres are Continental MC5. I heard it's not that good. I need some recommendation on good quality tyres when i drive be in on the wet or dry road and most importantly noise reduction if you will. So any recommendations?

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The MC6 is wayy better, and matches the PS4. The ContiExtremeContact Sport is a PS4s par on par tyre, and of course there's the ContiSportContact 5p which is a great OEM tyre as well. Michelin PS4/4s are well known top notch tyres too. Then there's the Goodyear Eagle F1 AS3 and Bridgestone S001. I know Pirelli Pzero has good performances too, but it looses out to the PS4s and ContiExtremeContact Sport in comfort and road noise. But these are all tier 1 tyres if you wanna spend top money. If you want just high performance range, then i would recommend either MC6 or PS4. If you wanna go comfort, the Michelin Premacy or ContiPremiumContacts are great. Going below your MC5, or slightly lower than that i find the Bridgestone Turanza wayy better than the Pirelli Cinturatos too, these are entry level tyres from well known brands like Michelin Energy or Falken Ziex or ContiComfortContact, which really have little performance to talk about before you go all into unknown territory.

    No matter how great the design and reputation, when it comes out from our Malaysian assembly line, the QC is a bit of a letdown. I was fixing some accessories in the shop where a bit of wire routing was required, the technician told me that some parts below the dashboard, some screws were missing! A bit disappointed with the Melaka plant.

  • @kasperyap6163
    @kasperyap6163 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Bobby! I like the way u point out all parts of the interior because i pay much attention to a car's interior (there's where we spend our driving in). A quickie; how was the noise insulation compared to previous Honda's and did u find the rear seats to be positioned abit too low to provide thigh support for adults, or not? Keep up the awesome work buddy!

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spot on! You're very observant as well. The rear seats are too low for old folks. But at least the Malaysian version's cushion isn't as soft as the Thai version, which sinks even lower when you sit in. When you sit in properly, the seats will feel low, but when you slouch down like how most of us do, it'll be better. Noise insulation is very good for its class. Thank you so much for your feedback! Will work harder! Meanwhile if you want to read my written review, you can just google "2016 honda civic review malaysia" :)

    Hi Mr. Bobby, I enjoy watching your car review. Your car enthusiasm lit up my passion about car. However, maybe you can test the car’s acceleration in a proper track, it is safer for yourself and the others. As sporty as civic can be, it is still a family sedan, it was never meant to be driven fast. Plus, there are other road user on the road, when you accelerated the civic, you put other road user in danger. Hope your channel grow and become more and more professional.

    Never posted this, but absolutely love your videos. Like many, I was in the market right for a C-Segment right about when this video came up. Let's just say I close to 9 months on, I love my Civic. Keep up the good work, Bobby. Cheers.

    So Bobby how does this compare to the Cla 250? Which one is better if we don't mind about the brand?

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean the first gen CLA? That is a horrible car. Jarring ride, cramp, rough transmission, poor sound proofing, but good looking car.

    • @tonysetark9903
      @tonysetark9903 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BobbyAngmalaysia yeah the first 250 with sunroof.. Because before this I've thought it was just me or my feeling that cla feels not so good in sharp cornering at Karak highway..that time I've been chase by old persona lol.. On straight line it can't chase me but on corners errrrr.. Scary.. That was my first time driving cla class actually so really don't expected this

    I went test drive today (cos can't resist the look of this new Civic) but somehow disappointed as I find the seating is very low, feel like sitting in a Go Kart racing car, this has greatly reduced the visibility of road conditions. The rear window is also small (i am not used to using reverse camera yet) and the side mirrors just completely block my sight. I am 5ft 5', maybe it's just not a car for woman or it is just me that can't fit in it? Nevertheless, I am still considering this car because it is just toooo handsome!

      So your heart says Civic but your brain is fucking with you by whispering that 'the more atas car is only a few thousand ringgit away' right? Trust me on this, every single decision we ever regretted comes from the brain. Go with the heart bro.

    • @iwadhrashid
      @iwadhrashid 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      haha.. thats exactly whats happening to me right now.. Confused! Now they are having discount for the accord. Less by 10k. That is why my brain is asking me to go for accord. haha.. thx for the tip, I'll think abt it. :D
