I would strongly recommend against replacing the scrim mat if yours is is fine shape. My double sided tape was almost impossible to remove the backer without removing the whole tape. It was time consuming to remove the glue residue from the old scrim mats. And worse still, I installed the new scrim mat slightly misaligned, causing it to be wrinkled. If I had replaced just the cushions in the clip, it would have taken 1/5 of the time.
Are the replacement ear pad cushions for the QuietComfort 35 the same as those for the Sound Link AE2? received the replacement pads from you but I am having a lot of trouble getting the rims of the pads to fit under all the tiny clips in the shell of the headphone. I get a few in and then others pop out. Is the fit the same as for the QC35? I'm tempted to use some adhesive to get them to stay in place but I'd rather not do that. Can you help?

try pushing towards the inside instead of shoving it straight down. maybe that will help
These are the same ear cushions as the original qc35ii’s right?
