No joke I’m actually wearing QC35s with after market pads and I thought it’s noteworthy to mention that the noise cancelling is about 30% of what it was with the factory cups... I will be buying new ones from Bose.

@@Chrisshao just under 2 years. I've been in aeroplanes with them on and the noise suppression was amazing... All my other family members had that slight deffness you get after a long flight but no such problem for me thanks to the QCs. I wouldn't have that much faith with the current aftermarket pads i've got on them though.

    • @DennisvanLeeuwen

Same problem here. With the after market pads my noise cancellation was almost reduced to none.

    • @infiniteblaz3416

The OEM cushions are more pliable so they can seal around the ear better. Aftermarkets don’t seal the ear properly considering how firm they are and have reduce pliability. That’s probably why.

  • @davewray9909

I wonder if the firmer aftermarket ones bleed less, which I find a problem as I like the level very high when I record.

I bought mine set of earpads aftermarket in 2022. Had them like a half a year and they are soft, the "leather" is also some what smooth compared to some cheaper brand headphones that I have tried on.

Bought the fake ones since Bose did not ship to my country for a while. In short, noise cancelling was halfway gone, listening to music at high volume gave me instant earache (which never happened with the original ones), and the base was way too loud. Plus you could hear what was being played on your headphones without putting them on. So, if you buy premium headphones, purchase genuine replacement parts. You'll save yourself the frustration.

HI.I have a pair of QC25. I had to replace the ear pads about 12 months ago and at the time I opted for the cheaper "copy" ones. I have now found that they keep coming loose and popping out of the cups. So much so now that they don't even stay in place. I am going to buy some more but m wondering if on the original Bose ones, is there more defined "clips" that hold them in place. I cant remember how my originals were. I expect the problem is unlikely to be with the cups and more the pads themselves?? I have tried so many times to clip them in but they just keep falling out . . . .. do I learn by mistake and go for Bose or try copies again . . I don't want to buy the Bose ones if they will just fall out too?

The firmness of the foam pads will have an effect on a couple things. Comfort over extended periods of time, and the acoustic seal (air seal) you get between the headphone and your head... Bose spares no expense to do things right and EVERYTHING is designed a certain way for a reason. Like, the reason you can see through the Bose cover is because it passes more air... If you want your headphones to perform like they were engineered to, buy the factory set...
...and just to be sure, did your dad have to eat the whole ear pad, or just a small piece?? :)

So what happened is a bought a fake one in summer and since it's hot and the temp is around 30 plus it felt a bit heat on my ear that I didn't experience on the original one. But now I'm using the fake one on fall season which falls on 5 degrees it doesn't feel any heat, but I still bought a new ones earcup that I got just today and wanna test in the upcoming summer if the original will makes my ear a little heat. It's just that original are pricey that they should be, to be honest if they sell it for 20 bucks, they will get many customers.

I'm all for buying original equipment, but the factory ear cups from Bose are super cheap and don't last long.

They aren’t fake unless they are using the same logo and brand.

no reason for me to go original bose earpads. my stock qc35 earpads got peeled after 2 yr of use given i live in a tropical, humid country. i replace with aftermarket china copy. they work and feel just same for only 8 dollars. so i prefer the copy one. i could have a new earpads every year and still cheaper than the 35 bucks bose earpads

Yes and that humidity must keep your cups moist and soft 🤫

Do they last? I think I might just toss my Bose Headphones in the trash. I got them for free anyway and they fell apart almost immediately.

Yes last, they are factory cups 👍

I paid a little more for my non-bose ear pads at $9.95, but the fact is that you're wasting your money buying from bose at $39.95.
