The only thing I do different is to record the audio through the sampler and assign it to a pad, that way I can have more than 8 tracks of audio. But I love how it's so easy to hook up a synth these days 👍🏾
WHAT haha and I got the same stand as you. I was messing with it for a minute trying to find a way to give the MPC that little pitch down but not be directly on top of the Fantom. That piece of wood doin work
Figured it out! What I want to know is how do you get the patterns in the Fantom to sync with your DAW "MPC software"? It would be cool to just lay some stuff down first on the Fantom without routing it to the DAW so you dont get distracted with extra steps that will come later. Then when you ready to mess with the DAW you then record the midi and audio from the patterns. Afterwards record your MPC drums or samples. I record both midi and audio simultaneously all the time. The Fantom lets you do both at once and all 16 channels when you route it right. I just dont know how to get it to sync like if I hit play to trigger the patterns on the Fantom its freely in its own world un-synced from the DAW. You can see the notes triggering in the piano roll in the DAW, you can hear it. I haven't tried with a midi cable yet. Only USB and TRS cables. Does USB still utilize a midi clock? 🤔 This is all assuming you know how to record midi from the Fantom to the DAW already. In the MPC software prefrences you just set sync receive = midi clock, sync send = midi clock, MTC frame rate = 30. Also make sure your main USB driver has sync enabled in that preference window. Assuming you got a few patterns laid down....you should be able to control the MPC software with the stop and play buttons. Now to record the midi from the patterns you have to click the blue time line to position the playhead, arm to record, then hit play on the Fantom. It should start recording. You cant stop the looping on the Fantom, however you can set the bars of the sequence from the MPC higher so you dont overdub the midi notes accidently that will cause drops. Just delete the notes after the extra bars or shorten the bars back to the original. I think if you are using a computer and you have a USB cable you dont need TRS or Midi cables its all configuring in the Fantom and routing within the DAW.
have you ever tried to balance volume of your differents tracks on the fantom ? because when i wanna mix the sound , the midi volum is set but per sequences and not overall. it means that if i move a slider on the fantom during let's say my sequence 2 , if i go back to my sequence 1 it will be two volumes for the same tyracks depending of the sequence. don't know how to set the two to avoid that
In that case, I would just convert the sequence to a song. Then record the 8 tracks into the MPC one by one, its time consuming for sure. Great question.
Peace brother listen I have a fantom 06 and I’m not getting my mpc x to sync with it I went to the sync/tempo and I don’t get the option of master/slave all I get is remote/ host/ client any help would be greatly appreciated.
@@streetiife9111 yes I got it to work I have it on external and every channel on the Roland on the settings corresponds with the MIDI tracks on the mpc x make sure when you are in MIDI that it says Roland fantom now you can play your notes and and the mpc records it. ✌🏽✌🏽
@WeFullTime I have almost a similar setup mpc live 2 Fantom 6 and maybe you might know how to solve the issue I’m having. I understand the set up you just explained. I figured it out the first few days of owning both units but what I can’t figure out to save my life is how do you get the mpc to play layered/stacked sounds from the Fantom. For example I might want a piano/string and a pluck on zones 1-3 on the Fantom playing at the same time on one track on the mpc not spread out to 3 tracks on the mpc if that makes sense. Due to each zone being a midi channel on the Fantom and the only way for the mpc to trigger the midi channel is the change it from 1-3 on the mpc midi tracks I’m only getting one sound at a time one track at a time. The only work around I’ve figured out is drawing the same midi information in the mpc on each channel 1-3 or just recording the audio in without using the midi. Hopefully all this makes sense to you, but since owning your Fantom have you figured this out yet. Because I’m going on a year with this set up and can figure it out at all. I’ve given up and just played it live because copying midi to 1-3 tracks can kill the creative vibe quick.
So is did turn that off plus on the sample I turn that to in But no sound coming out I see that mpc live 2 recognizing the sound I’m coming I can see the volume but no sound I plug both the cables in to the Roland and mpc plus the usb Only can hear audio if I plug my headphones to the Roland fa
Also bro say if i don’t have Roland and mpc connect but I save the file to mpc once I open the file back up in mpc alone I still can’t hear audio for what I played last night
@@WeFullTime it’s working but the sound in and out like I have the Audio coming out of the speakers but when I have it change on the mpc to my scarlet solo no sound
Hello everyone. I’ve added a comment almost a year ago about layering sounds with the Fantom and mpc live and the mpc triggering layered sounds if it’s more the one sound in the layer/stacked sound. There’s no one explaining this issue. Here’s a video explaining how to do this. th-cam.com/video/1vdhodFvR98/w-d-xo.html
I've had this X 4 a long time never recorded a song yet the way u explained it without talking so fast is so refreshing thank you kind sir.
Well where do u plug the other two ends of the 1/4 cables into u only show where u plug them at on the MPC?
Very highly appreciated ! I have been waiting on this Video from you when i saw you had added the Fantom to your mix. Again, thank you!
This was very helpful! 🙏🏿 Many thanks!

That will definitely work as well.
Thank you for sharing fam! 🙏🏾👊🏾
When you switch to track 2/midi ch 2….do you also have to re arm the audio (audio02?)or do anything with the midi program (midi002)? Thanks
Great tutorial thank you very much thanks to this tutorial I finally know how to use it correctly thank you 🙏🎉

Great video, is there a way to play the multiple zones or play the scenes through one channel?
Do you think it's possible to dial up a sound on the synth and be able to play it on the MPC pads?
Thanks for your help bro but how do I run it into my computer?I'm using the mpc beats with the live 2 as a controller.
So do you know you can actually sample the sound from the Phantom into the mpc?
Where can I listen to some of the music you used this workflow on. What type of music do you produce.
Did you experience notes sustaining when playing the keyboard? They don’t sustain when I play the Fantom with the MPC pads.
Hey brother, what is the name of the stand you're using for these two? And what is that white thing you have under the MPC? Thanks...SBN RESONATE
Figured it out!

Hey bro i know I can’t hear sound out of the mpc but only through the Roland when I have a headphones in
Is it because I didn’t do the software first
This is a very good audio but it doesn't show how to hook up the audio interface like a Focusrite/Scarlett....

I wanna sample some drum kits from the fantom to the MPC. got a tutorial for that?
Hey man, hope you're well, been waiting a minute for new videos. Hope you're in good health bro.
Hey what’s up Bolo. Can you do one on connecting the FA06 to the MPC Live 2. Thanx in advance
Thanks for the Video! 👊🏻
When you arm the audio track.
what’s being recorded?
The midi and the audio?
At the same time?
Audio tracks only record the audio input
i know this has nothing to do with it but what does the green r symbol on the top right mean? and when you hit it it goes to red with a w?
It means read and write, it is for automation. You can automate a lot of parameters using the MPC. Volume, pan, fx etc.
My fantom 07 says internal, external and remote in the sync mode it doesn’t say slave or master do you have a idea why is that?
