Just beat him after three hours, thought he was the first boss until a friend told me that he waited till lvl 35 to beat him… that’s when I knew I had to beat him right outta the gate
Me spending 4 hours staying on the halberd side punishing him after combos and rolling into his charge attacks instead of with them wondering why I still can't beat this guy. I like this strat, very patient and kinda passive, really suits how i like to play these out. I'll give this a go and hope it saves me some grief. I'll try a sword and shield setup too, got the vagabond starting equipment and seen the shield put in a tonne of work blocking hits that can be tough to dodge. i've just been poking with my Halberd the whole time.
Thank you so much for this, I managed to do it in my second try on my wretch after watching this, spent like 4 hours trying to do it yesterday through the stuttering issue and couldn't. Was about to give up!
Tried for 8 hours to beat him (first time playing any of the souls games). Best I got was phase 2 on my samurai. Great vid, now I have a much better idea on what to do.
For anyone playing samurai, there's a better opening I always use. Run up to him and hit him with 2 jumping heavy attacks, you have time while he's activating. If you time it right, dodge after his activation animation and his first attack (same each time) and he should start the charge attack. Run up to him while hes starting the attack up and hit him with another jumping heavy, if you are close to him when he starts the attack you won't get hit. As he charges, follow him and while he turns around, hit him with another jumping heavy. 4 jumping heavy attacks, and for some reason after the 4th using this method he will always be stance broken, quickly move behind him giving you an easy crit (heavy or unsheathe skill depending on how much time you have). After that you can run and use the strats in this video. Easy damage from the get go Also, you can jump over some of his halberd slashes so use those to get jump attacks in if you miss some of the first 4 chances
I'll consider that ;] would be a fun project, but the problem is that later I just don't know what build everyone plays... here everyone is pretty similar, but later you can use collosal sword, curved sword, rapier, magic, pyromancy, spears, etc., etc., and how to beat a boss depends on what you use.
@@Ptage That's ok! It would be difficult to try and cover everyone's build. Play what you think is fun. What I found helpful from the video were the good entry attacks and frame timing. I used that info and put it to use with my own playstyle and build.
Nice guide, might be the best in yt.I am one of the minorities that have chosen the warrior class to flex the dex weapons. Will you be continuing this run with this class?
I am trying to beat this guy as a basic Bandit, level 5... The thing that scares me the most in phase 1 is the shoulder check... It is almost tell-less. I get caught by it all the time. It's not that dangerous but it will evaporate about 40-50 percent of my HP each time I fail to predict it. The shield slams in Phase 2 scare the hell out of me... They require excellently timed dodge rolls.
I keep dying cuz my camera keep adjusting itself while I was sprinting away. I love this game but I hate the camera (keyboard user) friends of mine use xbox console and they don't have this camera thing problem

Dude your video is insane, I am really struggling with him but can't wait to try again using your strategies. You're awesome!
you can cheese him even easier if you have a horse, but I didn't want to use the horse
Thanks so much before this video I kept trying for 7 hours

Thank you so much for making this guide. I followed it and it worked. Although it took a lot of times, but I did it.
Thanks for the tip on charged attacks. I'll be fighting him soon

Excellent video. I am terribly stuck on this guy but this helps

Holy moly!
And without giving the swords bleed buildup?! Color me impressed!
Nice work.
Bro how do i get that 2 swords?
I was fighting the environment more than the boss
I keep dying cuz my camera keep adjusting itself while I was sprinting away. I love this game but I hate the camera (keyboard user)
