- The Tree Sentinels used are copies of the one next to Church of Elleh.
I don't know how to make Radahn's meteor attack target the Tree Sentinels instead of the player, and I don't know how to make Mohg's curse work on them, so I didn't include those 2 Bosses in the video.

Seeing Malenia replenish her full health from the brink of death was scary.
That moment when you realize the game literally expects you to 1v1 a boss who can massacre more than 50 tree sentinels at the same time
at that point in the game with max weapons and stats, it’s really easy to two shot a sentinel. the only difference with malenia is she’s got a longer sword, has more poise and more moves

i mean if you just stand there and eat the attack like the tree sentinels did then its a problem. the game expects you to try to dodge them.
@@martingarricks6209 She has garbage poise, but almost all of her moves have hyperarmour and she can cancel staggers into dodges and even into attacks (with hyperarmour)
@@thenayancat8802that's why you bait her into doing the same attacks you can stagger, once you learn that the boss is a literal joke. I believe it's called scripting.

Mohg would be up there too if he could curse them all at once. Plus every bleed permanently makes him stronger. He also tends to instant kill bosses with his phase transition or close to it.
Edit: I don’t actually know if his dmg keeps rising when bleed happens. Found nothing on it besides the fact it’s 20%

Considering they were 64 and we see only 8 remaining, it's exactly 56 defeated Tree Sentinels
Well, it's pretty RNG because depending on how the AI behaves (both on Malenia and the Sentinels' end), I'm pretty sure it can go way higher if enough of them attack at once rather than hang at the back, or happen to be caught in Waterfowl/Aeonia (and lower if they melt her before that/she misses more of them).
Tbh I'm not sure that the maximum possible number can be reached before the game crashes.

So malenia killed almost 106 tree sentinel in total
as someone else said, if she wasn't an Ai she would have won. Until the last moment it looks like she's gonna win. So something happens there, because there is no point in defeating 56 sentinels and can't handle another wave of 8 with almost full life.
So she got tricked by game mechanics.

Malenia is no doubt a very effective survivor in this kind of battles.
Watching her in these group fights is like watching somebody fight Deacons of the Deep with that ring that restores health when you do damage: it’s just a slaughter
Really? I think her weakness is groups especially the ones whose strength is very high. She is very fast, but that doesn’t matter anymore if she keeps being interrupted every 1,5sec while they can hold their ground. I love her but that’s just what I thought! Maybe you are right!:)
@@qowkhauspqokwhxzsoafjhwmew2924 Her being staggered so easily is certainly a great weakness, but she has several moves that can't be interrupted unless being bled or frozen. One waterfowl dance is enough to reset all the damage she received to zero and one bloom is enough to kill everyone.

It is honestly impressive how much damage a lone Tree Sentinel can do to some of these bosses.
The tree sentinel is such a cool design, they should give its creator a bonus or something.

Very reminiscent of (gold) lynels from breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom for me. Obviously the design is a bit similar but mostly the fact that you also encounter this motherfucker just pacing in a field very early game and get immediately clapped. Also have fairly similar attack patterns, I really kind of think that on some level the creator must have taken partial inspiration from lynels. Which is not a dig lynels are sick and one of my favorites. I did have to double check and just googled it and found multiple posts bringing up the resemblance so it’s not entirely in my head

Well I don't think rennala is a fair fight cause it's pretty conditional you have to kill a specific person to get her shield down, the ai isn't going to do that, it will attack randomly

Well, that's the problem with these types of videos. With the exception of Radahn (who weirdly enough did not appear in this video), the bosses are not programmed to deal with multiple enemies.
As it is, there is very much RNG involved since it is up to chance if the boss uses their big move or not. Placidusax could kill literally any number of even boss level enemies if he triggered his laserbreath a single time during the fight...

All she had to do was one more waterfowl or aeonia, or if they had all charged her at once

Mother of God, that Malenia fight was something else. I somehow feel better about losing to her so many times, when even 64 Tree Sentinels get smacked around.

With Malenia, I feel like her phase two basically makes numbers mean nothing.
Pretty much yeah, her limit was quite literally the cap on how many NPCs Elden Ring can handle moving at one time, the rest only survived because the game didn't move any of them till after the first lot had gone down
The amount of tree sentinels is the amount of time it took us all to first defeat malenia.

The thing about Rennala is that the first phase is more a puzzle than an actual fight.
I beat her on my second attempt (keep in mind that she was the actual first rune bearer I defeated, not Godrick) but I knew what I was doing. The AI doesn't know what to do, so it takes a long time for them to actually defeat her.
Rennala could have taken 3 or more if the sentinels carried over from fase 1 to fase 2

the flinch fest when you start getting to 4-5 sentinels really makes a difference.
Watching a herd of tree sentinels pile into the Scarlet Aeonia like a pack of excited puppies jumping in a pool is just peak comedy today.
No wonder margit did no damage to tree sentinel. Margil deals holy damage, and tree sentinel negates it

Placidusax basically was like whoever can stop him from getting to phase 2 is the winner. Malenia was so hype. I was hoping she would get a water fowl off against the 64 guys and she did 😂. I was so weak when she deleted all of them and then there was like 15 more in the back avoiding the fight

Malenia reminds me of Dankeater Midir, takes out legions of whatever you throw at it.
She is basically Friede, but way more effective in Boss vs Boss fights (and generally in fights with group of enemies or even players), which is very cool. I was always sad that Friede wasn't able to do very much against Midir, Gael (or even Nameless and SoC) despite she is harder (by moveset and speed) than all of them.

Rick Soldier of God is a very humble boss, being so powerful he allowed the Tree sentinel to win
Training tree sentinels through positive reinforcement is one of Rick's many talents.
After watching this, i suddenly got much more respect for Radahn for being able to fight Malenia to a standstill

Not completely clear to me, but in her second phase when she blooms again she should, in fact, be the Goddess of Rot, right? So “God Slain” would actually be more appropriate.

After seeing how all the bosses struggled to get past 10 or more Sentinels, I was wondering the entire time "Man if these guys are this strong. How would Malenia handle this?" ...I had to pick my jaw up from the floor multiple times after what I witnessed from her. No wonder, she was undefeated
It does make you wonder though, because if hypothetically the tree sentinel was player controlled I think beating malenia would be very feasible right? That’s kind of how video games work, the main character is the underdog surrounded by more powerful enemies but their shitty AI does them in. So a tree sentinel should be more powerful on paper had it been player controlled. Even if he’s not some players are cracked and could definitely do it

I was really surprised with how few maliketh and Loretta took. But was also surprised with how many the godskin duo and radagon took. I swore the fire giant was gonna be #2 behind Melania. Was worth the watch for sure

The Charge of the Light Brigade levels of awesome.
Melania's death is purely RNG though. Without that unfortunate stance break timing, she could have defeated as many tree sentinels as you throw at her since every time her HP passes 25% threshold, there is a bloom that can melt everyone it hits and then she regens beyond the threshold again and can trigger another one next.
It's even worse than that. She can ignore stance breaking, it's pure rng that she chose to lose. She only has 80 poise. About every two hit from the tree sentinel should stagger her.
The Tree Sentinel was my first real introduction to souls bosses, and I will always cherish my first attempts against him
Malenia is so tough, you could have a summon with 10 tree sentinels and the fight would still be unfair.
The fact malenia has to beat so many strong creatures and bosses and you HAVE to defeat her its just baffling
The biggest problem with bosses like Rennala is that the AI doesn't understand the boss fight mechanics. If it went after the right enemies in the first stage, would've been a different fight.
We need more vids like this but give the bosses unlimited poise to see their full potential

Man, watching Soldier of God, Rick 2 shot tree sentinels massive healthbar is a testament to his power. I don't know how a level 1 is supposed to beat such a boss.
Malenia's bad RNG at the end of the fight was what made her lose, if she had kept using Scarlet Aeonia or Waterflow, we would still have a few more minutes of video
This video is hilarious because it shows how obvious the tree sentinel's openings are and how slow its attacks are when you're not hopped up on adrenaline and down to your last flask.
So interesting to see bosses go up against each other and Elden Ring like it’s almost weird how much they know how to fight each other
I like how the tree sentinels didnt know to use the special sword during the rykard fight but still knew to use your horse during the fire giant fight

It is nice to see that struggling against this guy isn't unwarranted. He keeps his footing against most bosses throughout the entire game and he's literally one of your first interactions walking out the gate.
This one video has to be the most damning commentary on Tree Sentinels in existence. Perfect example of an enemy that can't be made difficult in a fun way, so it just has its armor and poise damage buffed to infinity. Oh, and put em on a horse, just because.
