I think it's also worth noting that another weapon worth getting, even though your stats will very likely not be high enough to properly use it for quite a while, would be the Sword of Night & Flame. It's located at the Carian Manor in the northwest corner of the map. You'll know you're close when you see a friendly giant blacksmith sitting on a rock near a Site of Grace. From there, follow the road (but ideally do not go up the road itself, follow it from off-road to avoid most of the raining magic arrows that fall from the sky as you move closer to the manor). Activate the Site of Grace right outside the front gate, and then once you do that, go inside (and keep an eye on the ground, there are some freaky "finger spiders" in the area, and a lot of them are hidden underground with only their fingertips showing, and the big ones can grab you and deal a lot of damage if you get too close, especially when you're just starting out). Once you reach the fountain in the courtyard, turn left and then when you reach a wall follow it to the right until you find a staircase. Go up the staircase and make your way through until you make it to the next floor up, where there should be a new Site of Grace. At this point you're very close to the sword. From here, go outside and run across the elevated walkways, and at the first opportunity take a left, then take a right. At the next platform turn left and there will be a ledge that you can jump down from. Do so (make sure that you actually jump, if you don't, you won't get enough distance and you'll just fall to your death), and once you land on the large platform below, go to the other side and there should be another platform you can drop down to with a ladder going down inside of it. Go down that ladder and you'll be inside of a locked room with a treasure chest. Open the chest and claim the sword for yourself. The sword requires a whopping 24 in both Intelligence & Faith to properly use it and access it's weapon art, but it's still a strong weapon. Doing a light attack with the weapon art causes you to thrust the sword forward and create a "Kamehameha" style sorcery blast straight ahead of you, while using a heavy attack with the weapon art creates a large wall of flame in front of you that moves a short distance forward. Both variations of the weapon art are really good for crowd control, plus it just looks cool! The Sword of Night & Flame also pairs well with the Carian Knight's Sword if you want to dual-wield, as the Carian Knight's Sword also benefits from a high Intelligence, and it has it's own unique weapon art, though the Sword of Night & Fire is likely still the better choice for it's weapon art.
And even better is all the comments suggesting other equipment. Holy shit. I still haven't beat Margit yet, and am making myself grind till I KNOW I can whoop him good next time, and I've farmed the same few areas so much that I start to worry myself "am I just rushing through ALL the side stuff, and is the rest of the game gonna be revisiting these se areas just to deliver/pick up an item for someone else?" The comments make it pretty clear that even at 80 hours in, no I'm not close to "finishing" anything lol For real though, check out the comments for more items because my list of items to get just tripled from what the video started me out with.
@@theheroofhelllordchainsaw Precisely, that way you'll have access to the Moonveil's skill on L2 when dual wielding. The swords even seen to complement each other, the Monveil having a bit more magic attack and the Meteoric Ore Blade having a bit more physical .
Just if anyone wants to get the cipher at the round table area. You don't need to beat the enemy, just jump down and run left into the rooms and pick it up.
You can get the clean-rot set in Calid later on when your high enough to kill clean-rot knights. They also drop their scythe and spear which are really good faith weapons. Clean-Rot knight can be found around the rotten tree in the center of the swamp where you find Commander O'neil.
You also find the Claymore at castle Morne. I was so happy since its been one of my favorite weapons since DS1. Been using Uchi, Naginata and Claymore as my 3 main weapons. This is a great video, so much stuff all at once and a good bit of things I haven't seen yet. Most TH-camrs would've spread this out in 2-4 videos but you just put it all in one. Thank you for your hard work.
Proud Claymore main in DS1 as well! It's still cool here, but I really recommend you try the Bloodhound Fang in this game. I can't get enough of it and it's unique L2-R2 combo.
For the dragon halberd boss You can stand in the waterfall and shot arrows at the boss since the dragon kin boss is too big and can’t reach you with any of his attacks
You can also stay behind him between his legs. I did this while on horseback. Him moving around swinging actually pushed me around but kept me safe behind his rump to swing at him for free. You only need to watch out for when he raises his arms up to slam down. Have fun!
@@jonathanbaes414 Maybe for you but some people after dying 10-25 times just want to get it over with lmao rightfully so. there are plenty of bosses where you cant cut corners to win, so if i find a loop hole im using it lol
Rivers of blood katana is bugged right now until it is patched. The weapon dmg does not scale with stats. (This was the red katana in the still image of the intro)
bloodhound blade doesnt have i-frames but it does have resistance like when you miss a parry you still do the animation but you also still take the damage Also if you dont have much runes to spend you can just go to the round table grab the cipher and let the npc kick your ass to get out of the arena
4:53 you missed the best sheild in the game , right next to that merchant is a jump lift for your horse and a tower . jump into the tower to get a turtle sheild that gives you a bonus stamina regen and has the ash of war barricade sheild which makes you loose almost no stamina from hits and do more gaurd break build up .
The flame of redmane Ash of War is a little east of the Fort Gael North site of grace. Its an invisible scarab in the area with the Trex dogs. You can track it using the footsteps it leaves.
if you pick a weapon that suits your build, or vice versa, everything is OP. There are two kinds of builds right now, one-shot and two-shot. The former usually relies a bit more on the slower stuff and might miss a few times more, so it basically evens out. Everyone is OP.
Surprised you didn't feature the Icerind Axe. The L2/LT special whoops Margit and Gidrick. Plus you you can get it to +6 all without fighting anybody to get them. Further, I saw you run right past the summons for the Rot Dog. Very aggressive summons that procs crimson rot. Also makes Margit and Gidrick very easy to beat. Some fighting may be needed to obtain grave worts 3,4, and 5. No fighting needed to get grave worts 1&2.
The radagon seals actually can make u regret having it equiped, just gotta not be fighting mobs, if you get hit with an actual weapon like vykes spear it's basically getting one shot to death ☠️
In about 35~45min, I'm able to use the warrior class with the twin curved swords. Grab a stonesword key from dragon burned ruins and stormhill shack. Get the bloody slash ash from Fort Haight. Hit up a couple of graveyards for runes. Head down and spend 3000 souls to buy the lost ash of war from the merchant in the south west weeping penninsula Go down siofra well and use 2 stonesword keys to unlock the lift at the end up to Caelid. Melina is at the bonfire right when you come up the elevator to invite you to the roundable hold. Duplicate the ash at the round table hold and have bleed on both curve swords. Jump L1 bleed your way to victory with the 4 hit double sword attack. Farm the skeleton at Church of Pilgrimage for a pair of bandit curved swords. Put the bleed ash on those and level them up.
This is super helpful thank you. Just a side note, you missed a couple of decent items from the first imp dungeon, in addition to the amulet you can also get the Dragon Communion Seal and the Erdtree Greatbow
The meteoric Katana is great for mages as its magic damage scales with intelligence. Also Gravitas does good damage via intelligence as well. I have a +5 with 28ish intelligence and normal hits do 300+ and Ive critted for as much as 1200. Its probably meh for melee builds but for intel builds its very good.
Try the Moonveil Katana with blood loss instead it also scales with intellect i hit over 400 with 33 intellect and crit like 1800. I also use a staff in my left hand and made a sick spell blade caster build
@@louissrensen8327 Yea I ended up picking up the moonveil and dual wield them with power stance or I use the Royal Greatsword or Moonblade greatsword. All good intel weapons. :)
@@jaidag463 I did this early, and that didn't work. I had no choice but to fight the boss, died about 10+ times until I was able to kill him (spammed Bloodhound's Fang's special move on his feet, he goes down in about 2 of those). Sad thing is he didn't even drop the Halberd. Only then was I able to teleport the hell out of there
Didn't see it on here, but there's the turtle shell shield on the tower that you jump on from the spirit spring next to the castle morne rampart grace. Fantastic shield overall as it has the passive stamina regen. Not a weapon, but right next to the pathing you used, so thought it was a good mention. Solid list tho.
Flame of the redmanes is located near the fort Gael North grace in Caelid. It's an underground dung beetle that has a chance of being killed by enemies (giant dogs and flame tanks) in the area if they're lead nearby.
It can also easily be killed by watching its path and running opposite on your horse while dragging your weapon ready for a heavy attack, the resulting damage as it walks through weapon will kill it.
Definitely going after those scarseals and sorseals today. Especially the soreseal. I'm a huge katana fan and it sucks that two katanas I'd like to try out are int scaling (Meteoric and Moonveil). Also absolutely sucks that there are two katanas that scale off int and none that seemingly scale off faith. There's one that requires arcane but I dunno much about it other than it looks cool.
@@gustavorb2000 You mainly use it for the high bleed buildup which scales with arcane and for its weapon skill which deals more damage and has more bleed buildup in it and has good range+aoe. Just dual wield katanas if you want normal damage and use Rivers of Blood in right hand for the weapon skill I think Rivers of Blood is one of the only weapons that has Bleed buildup that scales that high
tbh my 2 uchis are doing fine with the bloody splash aow. sacred is good too if you can dps a boss down with powerstance, otherwise the blood one just spam and kill. but i know the feeling, no cool unique stuff that isn't int or arcane scaling. i guess there's dragonscale but its mid-late game
Straight up wrong. Gravitas is absolutely viable for several enemies, its a near flawless aoe interrupt, and as long as you have the skill to back it up, you can use it to throw off enemy timing and wipe out swathes of baddies
You can literally get a +7 spear out of the gate if you go straight to patches and kill him. Super good dex weapon to start out the game with since you can couple it with a shield and be able to attack while blocking.
I didn’t get the chance to kill the 2 bosses before general rykard, the crusader knight always put me down man. Dude is tough, don’t think I’ve ever beat him anywhere i meet him. Back on topic, i accidentally activated the festival by going to the altas plateau, and when i got back for them, they weren’t there, killed rykard and got both of his weapons, but i would like to get that big sword from the double boss fight before radahn
I know Im probably too late but I just had that issue a couple days ago. You have to defeat Radahn and then speak with Jerren in the chapel behind where you first met him. That will end the festival and let the castle revert back to its normal state aftet resting at a grace.
I don’t think it’s fair to say gravitas is that bad, everything’s got it’s uses. I’ve used it in the duo priestess fight & against bat enemies as I’m assuming low poise let’s them get staggered. Against the duo it pulled them and interrupted their attacks. & the bats it knocks them on the ground
Flame of the Redmane is found by killing one of the invisible, scarabs that you can only see the tracks for. It’s in Caelid Up just west and north of the swamp Lake of Scarlet rot
18:54 you can actually shoot the pots in the fringefolk hero's grave that are attached to the roof: they will fall and crush the chariot and give you a bow in return
I was thinking the same thing. He'll rest at a SoG, then say, "Follow this path," but he cuts to some random view, and have no idea which way he went from the SoG. I'm stuck at the SoG outside the Crystal Tunnel rn, because I have no idea which way he went to get the Meteorite Staff... 😑
@@WarXxandXxPeace just run around the rot lake on your horse. It’s technically on the northwest part of the lake. Almost everything is too slow to touch you on your horse. The rock sling spell is also in a basement in the same lake.
These guides are beyond helpful, i think elden ring could do with a slightly more clear route of progression though. We have a clear story progression but not character. I feel like if there was NPC's that would give us hints about 'mysterious noises' or 'ancient relics' in certain areas, the game would flow smoother
Gravitas actually helped me out on the annoying black knife boss. You catch them no matter where he is when he's invisible. You interrupt his assassination grab too
Please don’t describe any of these talismans as broken.. so many of them don’t live up to the standards of their predecessors in previous titles. If something is “broken” it means it needs fixing.
theirs no need to be difficult. By broken he means very strong and we all obviously know that. Who cares about how good it was in previous games, the game the guide is for is elden ring.
That dragon was crazy tough. Thank god I had the bestial move and physick that regenerate health. I have 11 flasks also. I’ve traveled the lands collecting items. Thanks for this vid
Never talks about the crystalSword (Kristallschwert in German) don’t know if has the same name. The Blue one. One of the best weapons for early and midgame, even further. And u can find it very quickly
Wanted the halbert... spend almost 2 hours before i killed the boss. Pro tip if u stand behind the left heel at the start of the battle u can stand still while the boss just rotates for the first 25-50% of its hp
for erdelaf flowers, much easier to just follow roads and pick them up there, they seem to be along roads mostly. if you picked them up while you did all of this you would have more than enough for the whole game.
Sorry I think I'm easily amused or something but at 3:15 at .5 playback I love the emphasis you put on uchigatana ...but Thank you for this video! Didn't even occur to me to travel south 🤯
claws are easier to acquire than any souls game prior plus theyre looking really OP against certain bosses. just have to beat the boss that gives you the first extra talisman pouch and its not much exploring past there and you have the ability to jump attack to hearts content.
Never looked down that small run way.. my mind was just blown... that was the 1st fog wall I opened up to do in the game. Yeah I beat the boss and got the banished Olge. I thought that was it in the 1st heroes grave.
I will say that I honestly dislike how fast you sped up the gameplay, for an older gentleman as myself, it's hard to follow along, I had to rewatch each section a few times over but thanks so much for the video, really helped out and I tried out a lot of the weapons.
One of the best weapons I've gotten so far (still switch to it in certain situations, even at level 60) is a +8 Halbred that I got from what's her face's dad in Castle Morne. He's up on a high spot, out of the way. I hope I didn't ruin something by doing it, but something told me to kill him after promising to deliver his message to his daughter at the bridge. That Halbred is no joke early game. Highly recommend.

The weapon is to OP it ruins your first experience
It got nerfed to shit tho
I slowed the speed down, as you mentioned, and now I have Flea from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas explaining where everything is located.
literally the best beginners walkthrough i've tried so far. everything was clearly explained and actually useful
And even better is all the comments suggesting other equipment.
Holy shit. I still haven't beat Margit yet, and am making myself grind till I KNOW I can whoop him good next time, and I've farmed the same few areas so much that I start to worry myself "am I just rushing through ALL the side stuff, and is the rest of the game gonna be revisiting these se areas just to deliver/pick up an item for someone else?"
The comments make it pretty clear that even at 80 hours in, no I'm not close to "finishing" anything lol
For real though, check out the comments for more items because my list of items to get just tripled from what the video started me out with.
@@nignamedmutt7270
I am around 35 hours in and it feels like i have barely even touched the game lmao. The map is insanely big holy shit
Meteoric Ore Blade feels like the perfect partner for power stance with the Moonveil, just keep the the Moonveil on the right hand.
So wield the Meteoric Ore Blade in the left and Moonveil in the right?
@@theheroofhelllordchainsaw Precisely, that way you'll have access to the Moonveil's skill on L2 when dual wielding. The swords even seen to complement each other, the Monveil having a bit more magic attack and the Meteoric Ore Blade having a bit more physical .
@@Ragefat Awesome thanks
@@theheroofhelllordchainsaw u will be completly broken in pve and pvp
I’m very new to these types of games, can you please explain?
Just if anyone wants to get the cipher at the round table area. You don't need to beat the enemy, just jump down and run left into the rooms and pick it up.
Endtree's Favor stat boost-
HP increased by 3%
Stamina increased by 6%
Equip Load increased by 5%
I did some personal testing and I think that the Crimson Amber Talisman gives 6% health? Someone might have to check that one again…
4:50 use the air current to go up to the tower. There's a turtle shell shield with barricade shield on it already and 100% physical block.
Guessing they removed this? There wasn’t anything in that tower other then a memory stone.
For the dragon halberd boss
You can stand in the waterfall and shot arrows at the boss since the dragon kin boss is too big and can’t reach you with any of his attacks
You can also stay behind him between his legs. I did this while on horseback. Him moving around swinging actually pushed me around but kept me safe behind his rump to swing at him for free. You only need to watch out for when he raises his arms up to slam down. Have fun!
boring way to play the game
@@jonathanbaes414 Maybe for you but some people after dying 10-25 times just want to get it over with lmao rightfully so. there are plenty of bosses where you cant cut corners to win, so if i find a loop hole im using it lol

Rivers of blood katana is bugged right now until it is patched. The weapon dmg does not scale with stats. (This was the red katana in the still image of the intro)
The Flames of the Redmanes AOW can be found next to the Fort Gael North grace, it's between Gael Tunnel and Gaol Cove.
bloodhound blade doesnt have i-frames but it does have resistance like when you miss a parry you still do the animation but you also still take the damage
Also if you dont have much runes to spend you can just go to the round table grab the cipher and let the npc kick your ass to get out of the arena
Ash of war Hoarfrost stomp is insanely good. Huge damage area with good damage. A must have!
Bloody Slash is broken, carried me through the game honestly
The katana with Gravitas actually helped me a ton with annoying flying enemies
4:53 you missed the best sheild in the game , right next to that merchant is a jump lift for your horse and a tower . jump into the tower to get a turtle sheild that gives you a bonus stamina regen and has the ash of war barricade sheild which makes you loose almost no stamina from hits and do more gaurd break build up .
They nerfed it, it’s not 100% dmg block anymore. 😔
I've completed the game with 11 different builds and only mage had the potential to one-shot. You must've farmed too much.
@@jengaaaaa The one and two-shot potential was generally aimed at PvP. I generally stay between level 50 and 70 for my builds.
“You suck, you want the weapon, so you don’t suck!”
Got me 😔😔
Surprised you didn't feature the Icerind Axe.
Get a dragoncrest talisman that negates damage alongside this seal. You get both damage negation AND boost in all attritibues.
I can't find that castle he's in to get the talisman:((
In about 35~45min, I'm able to use the warrior class with the twin curved swords.
Grab a stonesword key from dragon burned ruins and stormhill shack.
Get the bloody slash ash from Fort Haight. Hit up a couple of graveyards for runes. Head down and spend 3000 souls to buy the lost ash of war from the merchant in the south west weeping penninsula
Go down siofra well and use 2 stonesword keys to unlock the lift at the end up to Caelid.
Warning before you get to the chest at 7:29, that chest that teleports you to the capital -> you will be trapped.
Rest and then u can fast travel
@@jaidag463 I did this early, and that didn't work. I had no choice but to fight the boss, died about 10+ times until I was able to kill him (spammed Bloodhound's Fang's special move on his feet, he goes down in about 2 of those). Sad thing is he didn't even drop the Halberd. Only then was I able to teleport the hell out of there
Use the Beast torch gotten from the isolated merchant in Caelid and the rats in Fort faroth won’t touch you. The man bats will but the rats won’t.
Dual uchis with bloody slash on them actually really fun to run.
Finally! A Tarnished youtuber worth following!
A very well organized and produced video my friend. Great job.
Jesus christ this video is perfection. No fluff. Chapters and links. You blew this out of the water!
The turtle shell got a nerf so it’s like 84 block and it’s not really any better than the brass Shield at the starter area so
Flame of the redmanes is located near the fort Gael North grace in Caelid.
Try Rivers of Blood
@@DeathTheManiac Isn't rivers of blood weak, because it doesn't scale? I have it, but I'm not sure if I should use it
@@gustavorb2000 You mainly use it for the high bleed buildup which scales with arcane and for its weapon skill which deals more damage and has more bleed buildup in it and has good range+aoe.
Just dual wield katanas if you want normal damage and use Rivers of Blood in right hand for the weapon skill
I think Rivers of Blood is one of the only weapons that has Bleed buildup that scales that high
@@DeathTheManiac I heard it’s bugged and the scaling doesn’t work at the moment.
tbh my 2 uchis are doing fine with the bloody splash aow. sacred is good too if you can dps a boss down with powerstance, otherwise the blood one just spam and kill. but i know the feeling, no cool unique stuff that isn't int or arcane scaling. i guess there's dragonscale but its mid-late game
you don't have to touch 3 graces. all you have to do is run straight to the gatefront site of grace and she will show and give you torrent
You don't need to beat the invader to get the cipher pata. You can just run through the doors as soon as you drop down.
Tip: If you are opening a chest you Can spam Roll so you dont get hit by smoke
Note to self: Do not open double doors near the end of Gael tunnel while still a beginner 0_o
You miss out on his questline though. Just to warn any newer players watching. If you don't mind losing out on some content then kill away
Thanks for your vids. Very much appreciated, especially for this here new Souls player.
flame of Redmane is dropped by a teardrop scarab next to the site of grace by fort Gael
Dude for real thank you so much for posting this the trinkets were super helpful
The flames of redmane are located at North Fort Gael grace, it's a phantom spirit that runs a circuit just beside you.
Mate. This is one of the best guides I've seen! Thank you and appreciate it! Lots of effort in this for sure
Flame of the Redmanes. Just outside of Fort Gael North bonfire in Caelid, South of Rotview Balcony. Little invisible guy you kill in his tracks.
I have used the Starscourge blades since I got them and the ability to pull enemies that like to skitter away into range is great
Flame of the Redmane is found by killing one of the invisible, scarabs that you can only see the tracks for. It’s in Caelid Up just west and north of the swamp Lake of Scarlet rot
Bro says “follow my path” and then proceeds to speed up the video making it very hard to “follow his path”
Just pause it dude

Playback speed in settings he even says slow it down if necessary
Thanks heaps for the video. i was looking for the missed items and your video helped me a lot in my new character

Flame of the Redmane can be found in Caled at the Fort Gael North site of grace. follow the white steps on the ground near by
18:54 you can actually shoot the pots in the fringefolk hero's grave that are attached to the roof: they will fall and crush the chariot and give you a bow in return
You path can be hard to follow when you speed it up every time I “follow” your path

These guides are beyond helpful, i think elden ring could do with a slightly more clear route of progression though. We have a clear story progression but not character. I feel like if there was NPC's that would give us hints about 'mysterious noises' or 'ancient relics' in certain areas, the game would flow smoother
Is meteoric actually that bad? I always wanted a heavier katana that scales off of STR rather then DEX, the int is a nice bonus too
The weapon skill isn't great, but it's moveset is really nice. I don't know how it holds up later in the game, but it's doing fine for me right now.
Beat the game using only this. Scales really high with str/int and hits hard.
Gravitas actually helped me out on the annoying black knife boss. You catch them no matter where he is when he's invisible. You interrupt his assassination grab too
16:09 I haven't even gotten there yet but I am already terrified!
Please don’t describe any of these talismans as broken.. so many of them don’t live up to the standards of their predecessors in previous titles. If something is “broken” it means it needs fixing.
theirs no need to be difficult. By broken he means very strong and we all obviously know that. Who cares about how good it was in previous games, the game the guide is for is elden ring.

for erdelaf flowers, much easier to just follow roads and pick them up there, they seem to be along roads mostly. if you picked them up while you did all of this you would have more than enough for the whole game.

Starscourge talisman is in fort gaol north, not redmane castle
@Pwar - minor correction - The strength talisman @20:56 comes from fort gael not red mane.
Fort Gael North is where you can find the flames of the redmanes from a invisible scrab
For the erdtree's favor portion, you can shoot the guys on the ceiling down with a bow and they will instantly die on fall.
claws are easier to acquire than any souls game prior plus theyre looking really OP against certain bosses. just have to beat the boss that gives you the first extra talisman pouch and its not much exploring past there and you have the ability to jump attack to hearts content.
Flame of the redmanes ~ is in a invisible scarab at Fort Gayle North at The fort Watch for the trail and the twinkling sound

Thanks a ton!!!! this video was awomse!!!! literally sat and did the walk through with you and got every thing up until the boss weapons!!!!
With great weapons comes great responsibility.
