So glad you got to these. Akali is undoubtedly the champion I am most excited to follow in a future series. Her character, the social and political tensions building around her, explorations of pacifism and self-sefense in war, and all set against the gorgeous landscapes of Ionia and the Spirit Realm.
Runeterra (the planet) is a world shaped by different types of magic, and each region tends to have a different cultural focus. Piltover and Zaun: They developed technologies that could extract and utilize magic from Hextech (artificial magic crystals) and Chemtech (such as shimmer). Demacia: After suffering greatly from magical wars in the past (the ones Heimerdinger warned about in Arcane), they banned all types of magic and imprison everyone born with the gift of using magic. Their culture revolves around Petricite, a magical mineral that can absorb all kinds of magic. Noxus: A society based on strength and the conquest of other kingdoms, they use all kinds of magic as long as it benefits the realm. Freljord: A frozen land with a race of Iceborn (superhumans) and Gods who were created along with the planet. These gods are worshiped and grant shamanic powers to some tribes. Ionia: This region has the closest connection to spiritual energy and features a culture with Asian influences. It has various temples that train spiritual power (like the ninjas in the video), and Noxus is attempting to conquer it. Mount Targon: A mountain that has contact with a race of nearly god-like beings from outside the planet, the Celestials, who choose heralds to grant their powers, transforming them into gods on earth (similar to Greek mythology). Bilgewater: A coastal area filled with sea monsters, demons, piracy, and madness.
Idk if anyone else noticed it but when I first saw the targon clip I immediately knew that the star figures of the two loevers are same or at least similar to Cosmic Dusk & Dawn Xayah and Rakan.
You can look up the full story of each character in the "universe tab" the little paragraph you see below champions are indeed teasers of their full story, but you can read the full one !
Just in case you didn't know. You guys said that the text was missing and teasing you. What you read is just the short bio of the champion, there is a whole lot more when looking at the universe page. There you can see the map of Runeterra, as well as read the short stories and color stories for the champions :)
32:40 Idk if ya'll noticed and didn't say anything, but in those demonstrations of the abilities in game, each champ is going against their archnemesis or counterpart. Garen Vs Darius, Diana Vs Ex Girlfriend, etc. Leona was one of my first favorite champions, and to this day, forever actually, I will still play her in jungle, because I fing can. Leona has some of the most epic skins. I wish ya'll had glanced through them.
leona and diana are a couple! they have a sad and beautiful story at the same time, it's worth looking for. in fact, recently league of legends ig posted their letters to each other again. they are so in love, it's so beautiful fr.
Leona and Diana has a cool story which is told in the form of small messages about them on the Universe page you can read its called "Rise with me" and its really cool :)
Was waiting for this, nice! :)) Also there is a Runeterra map that shows the whole world. "He is like a bear"... yeah there is a bear in Freljord but not him :D
I honestly think the that Legends of Runeterra is a great way to know the lore more, given that no only the champion cards have voicelines, but pretty much all followers do. Also, every card has a small paragraph that add context or tell a story
Funny you guys said "Mortal Kombat vibes" to Shen, his first 2 skins in the game were "Frozen" and "Yellow Jacket" which are heavily based on Sub Zero and Scorpion
all these videos give you an idea on what each region is about so it's kinda like a teaser/preview for what will come after Arcane on Piltover/Zaun ends and they move on to the next region.
loved the video! There are still 3 Tales of Runeterra animations showing three other regions, I hope you two watch them and see the animations from the beginning of the year too, which are incredible!!
Awesome videos, I can see how much guys actually like to know more about the stories, excited for the next one! Excited for when you watch the music videos too!
You both seem to like Katarina I'd be happy to tell she has her own comic (10 ep), the comic name is "Katarina" And the comic is also a prequel of a single player rpg "the mageseeker" which has a great story set in demecia.
15:10 Braum is one bad bitch. Like, the most kind, heroic, gentle mfer. I'd never play him in game, but I'll listen to him talk all day. 21:58 As someone who LOVES playing Shen in the jungle, this is by far my favorite. 27:00 Akali is cool af. I've wanted to try her for years, but she got changes completely so often over so many years, I just kept putting it off.
Another cool thing about Ionia is that it's pretty much the land of ninja and samurai & is also very spiritual which you've seen, and the land itself can kind of come alive/has a mind of its own.
I love your videos. And S/O to the editor for side notes and cuts. It might be a difficult video to make but I think y'all would love to read through Leona's and Diana's connection in lore.
Thank you for watching with us and supporting us! We love our editor and wouldn’t be able to dive into LoL without their guidance 😊❤️ More to come!! 🙏🏼
There's a video, I believe from Necrit, that explains future things we might see in the mmo that'll be made by Riot. In there, he explains about the nation very well.
you guys really need to look at the season cinematics since they are always the "big thing" every year they do a very high quality cinematic for the new season they are the best animations riot does
Targon is like Mount Olympus if u reach the top u get the blessing of a god and turn into his Avatar (Aspect as they call). Leona and Diana are from different tribes and these tribes are Solarians and Lunarians they kind hate each other because of their religion. Most of the power houses of Runeterra come from Either Targon or Shurima the two places where humans can be turn into literal Gods. (And overall gods are really present in the world as a whole) Freljord has tribes like the nordic/vikings they fight each other too, but most because of their bloodlines not religion. They call each others cousins if i'm not mistaken even when they are not really cousins, your tribe is your familiy so they are all cousins. The girl with white hair is a iceborn or "glacinata"(idk if the term is corret in english) , she wields a true ice weapon that's where her powers come from. (Normal people die if they even try to touch a true ice weapon). Ionia is all about Yin Yang and balance heavely inspired by the Eastern mithology/philosophy. They have Fight Noxus in the past and there's some noxians still in Ionia.
Deep Dive: Demacia and Noxus are basically two sides of the same problem with autocratic hegemonies. Noxus came into being in a place that was overmined and essentially depleted of its natural resources, so they conquer and expand Imperialistically to survive, but when Darius says "Freedom", he's not lying - Noxus isn't a pure meritocracy, but generally they recognize three vital areas of excellence: might (strength in war), guile (cunning and fortune), and vision (planning and strategy). Anything you can do using your natural gifts, like magic or anything like that, to serve yourself and the empire is valued there. In other words, it's easy to get a job and it's hard to get in trouble. Noxians don't just conquer, they assimilate, and any notion, ethnicity, or religion is welcome. They're sort of the ultimate example of 'liberty' vs. 'freedom' - you are free from restrictions and constraints in Noxus, free to do anything, which is one way to see freedom, the freedom to do x / y / z. You heard them say in Arcane that magic ('the arcane") is something you are born with, and generally in Runeterra, that's true, but Noxus maintains a healthy supply of blood mages, which is a magic you can learn (at a rather significant cost), and even one you can pass on, which means that anyone in Noxus can be at least a little magical. By contrast, Demacia is a place you are "free from" things. You don't have to make decisions about what to do with x / y / z because there are laws and nobles that take care of all that for you. You don't have to worry about the dangerous monsters of the woods or the world, because there are noble people who defend the walls and build the towers; you just stay in your place. A downside of that, of course, is that "your place" is wherever you were born, and if you violate any of their rules, you get punished. Those rules are whatever the people in power decide, so if you disagree with it, tough. Worse, their oldest rule is "magic bad." If you happened to be born with magic, Demacia treats you like worse than a prisoner or a secondhand citizen; you're the enemy. You didn't choose this, mind you, you didn't want this. You just woke up one day and could do a magic. But of course, because the power structures are much less about what you can do and what you have and much more about who you are and who you know, poor people born with magic are treated differently that rich people born with magic. Garen's little sister is probably the most powerful magic user born in Demacia in an age or more, but instead of going to prison or an internment camp like any other mage does, because her family is powerful, she's heralded as the "light of Demacia." In other words, both nations are right and both nations are wrong. This is a common thing in Runeterra, where you have two factions that face similar problems but solve them in exactly opposite ways. In Ionia, the factions basically break along "should we go to war to defend our people from invaders" vs "should we instead fight to preserve balance and harmony with the land, regardless of who lives here." You see those views expressed by Shen and Akali - Akali says she's going to teach the Noxian a lesson, and Shen responds "With your steel?" His question is essentially "what can you teach by killing except killing?" And he's *not* wrong. Akali *also* isn't wrong - they can't just sit there and do nothing. But Shen might have, seeing that Ionia itself was handling the "problem." It's the richness of these ideological divides that sets up the League IP for such juicy storytelling, because ideological divides are all well and good until you're face with the reality of *people you care about* being affected, which is basically the whole moral of Arcane.
Garen ult "That looks weak" xD I wish it was weak...it's actually one of the most broken abilities in the game, and Garen is also one of the most broken characters in the game. 25:10 And this is exactly why I was a little disappointed when I heard that the long awaited League of Legends show takes place in Piltover & Zaun of all places. But, since Arcane turned out to be amazing, just imagine what they can do with places like Ionia or the Shadow Isles.
Don't forget to react to champions voice lines after completing the cinematics, they give you insight of each champions and flesh out their characters. My personal recommendations are voicelines of Kindred, Aatrox, Pantheon & Swan!
Diana and Leona loved each other, but they belonged in different tribes and rival ones,, seeing the two lovers making together maybe made then think that this could be them, they're story is so heartbreaking
Always nice to see how others look at the world of League. I can highly recommend watching necrit's video where he talks about "the world of riot's mmo", he explains it in the context of a mmo possibly coming in the future but it's a great overview of the world
No idea if you've watched it already, but if you'd like to see Akali again (and in a different skin) I recommend watching the music videos of the K-pop girl group Riot Games made. Akali is in the group along with Ahri (nine-tailed fox woman), Evelynn (she's kinda like a succubus), and Kai'sa (the one lady whose body is coexisting with a void organism). It's really good and actually features two members of (G)idle!
Arcane actually overwrote some of the original lore after Riot announced it will merge all version of their stories into one single canon. That LoR cinematic about Piltover and Zaun still has old ekko and jinx's design from their old versions, and like the riot forge game "convergence" which is a platforming game that tells the story of old ekko, I think they're gonna be retconned from the current lore. This seems to be the case considering the latest iteration of ekko from riot's upcoming fighting game "2XKO" (yes, like Mortal Kombat and Tekken), ekko's design looks a lot like his Arcane version.
Recommend you guys to also check the other season cinematic New Dawn was 2016 ( don’t watch 2023 because I personally don’t count that one, no champions or new music, just a camera view of in game league of legends map) And I’m sure many others have recommended you Necrit’s MMO video, even though the video was aiming to show how much potential Runeterra is for an MMORPG game, Necrit made the video in a way that it works as a summarized introduction to the world building of Runeterra as a whole, I recommend his video first since it helps you understand where the champions are on sight when they are shown in the cinematic 2017- Legends Never Die 2018- The Climb 2019- Awaken 2020- Warriors 2021- Ruination 2022- The Call 2024- Still Here
I highly recommend watching some of Necrit's videos. Specifically "The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done" it does an amazing job of introducing you to the regions of Runeterra and a little of their backstory. Also don't worry, you don't have to care about the MMO to watch the video.
Something to keep in mind is that classes like Mage/Tank/Assassin are just in-game descriptors and are not reflective of their role in the lore. For example Ekko is an assassin in the game because he has high damage, uses a melee weapon and is very mobile but it's not like he's an actual assassin in the lore. Most characters that are a part of the mage class are not mages in the lore.
You caught Jace'y voice actor in the Targon cinematic but missed Vander's voice actor(Braum) in the Freljord cinematic ;) Also I am sure the Targon cinematic would have been a lot better for you if you new the lore of the 2 aspects ;) Leona and Diana used to be in love but being chosen to be the aspect of sun and moon put them on opposite ends... the intense stare at the end is very remeniscing of both and how it could have been differently for them if they were brave enough to escape that duty (like the couple)...
Love this preview of what may come after arcane ;) so many amazing potential storylines they can explore. Noxus is the most likely though so hopefully see Darius soon. Also Samira is my favorite champ and she’s from Noxus as well yall will probably think she’s hot and badass haha
Demacia is known for being anti-mages and anti-magic in general. Noxus is known for their endless wars that expand their land. Freylord is cold and has a bunch of tribes fighting in a civil war.
I never played League, but I got into the world of Runeterra thru the Legends of Runeterra game, it's free and has amazing art and lore descriptions, and it's overall the best digital multiplayer card game in my opinion! (but they focus a lot on singleplayer now, so if battling online is not your thing, there is actually a lot of single player content) Just watch out there are some spoilers.
Idk if you guys remember, but the voice actor of Braum is JB Blanc, who also voices Vander in Arcane.

@@kubka4 no one called them good? i dunno what crack you took to see "a ruthless nation of meritocracy and equality" as someone calling them good, no region is just good or bad, because they are really interesting regions so they have their ups and downs, Demacia is a nation of Honor and knightly valor, but at the same time they despise and outright imprison mages for the simple reason of existing, Noxus is a region of equality and strenght, if you are strong enough to become a general or a commander, then you will become it if you want to, it doesnt have the same upper high class bs demacia has, but at the same time it doesnt care about the weak, elderly and sick in their lands, while piltover is a city of the future trying their best to find solutions to modern day problems, they actively ignore their undercity because "well its far enough away to not disturb our work" and actively refuse to help people today because they believe they can find a better solution tomorrow, on the other hand zaun works to survive today, but has no plans for tomorrow, and if you try to interfere with the organised crime or even happen to be in the wrong place, your life will just end, though you are quite free to do whatever you want if you can survive the gas, the freljord obviously has 3 different rules, sejuani who thinks of survival and strenght, ashe who thinks of a brighter tomorrow and a united land for peace, and lissandra who thinks of no real problem they currently have but hyperfixate on the Voids invasion of runeterra, the harsh unending winter that brings a cruel fate to any unprepared, mount targon who thinks highly and supremely of those with the stamina and will to ascend to the mountain, worthy to be given ascendant powers beyond the mind of a regular person, wouldnt hesitate to manipulate and slaughter people for their own survival and comfort
Knowing so much more about Diana and Leona now, that last cinematic hits HARD.
To the editor: I like the order you went with for showing Meesh and Dee the cinematics. Save the best for last.
Idk if anyone else noticed it but when I first saw the targon clip I immediately knew that the star figures of the two loevers are same or at least similar to Cosmic Dusk & Dawn Xayah and Rakan.
I love how Freljord has its own theme soundtrack
You can look up the full story of each character in the "universe tab" the little paragraph you see below champions are indeed teasers of their full story, but you can read the full one !
Trust me when I say, you FEEL Garen's ult in game, even though it looks like nothing and lasts but a mere instant.
Leona and Diana did use to be together, but stuff happened between them. If you're interested you can read the story "Rise with Me".
So glad you guys like Akali. She's my main champion amd has been even before the rework. The glow up was INSANE!!!
It's so nice to find a new channel working ya'll's way through the GOAT damn cinematics. Ya'll found a real nice ride to be on.
leona and diana are a couple! they have a sad and beautiful story at the same time, it's worth looking for. in fact, recently league of legends ig posted their letters to each other again. they are so in love, it's so beautiful fr.
Leona and Diana has a cool story which is told in the form of small messages about them on the Universe page you can read its called "Rise with me" and its really cool :)
The Call, Awaken, Warriors, Still Here are all amazing league of legend cinematics you should check out
Was waiting for this, nice! :)) Also there is a Runeterra map that shows the whole world. "He is like a bear"... yeah there is a bear in Freljord but not him :D
A god bear to be exact ;)
The Piltover/Zaun one is great because it highlights how the two really are sister-cities: they're both at the pinnacle of innovation and discovery
I honestly think the that Legends of Runeterra is a great way to know the lore more, given that no only the champion cards have voicelines, but pretty much all followers do. Also, every card has a small paragraph that add context or tell a story
I love that 99% Demacia champion is straightforward no cheap trick to win and most of them has skill that support their team in some way.
I really like that you two actually pay attention to the teasers, great reaction 👌
React to the big cinematics. The Call, Still Here, Awaken, Warriors.
Hello ! I'm usually not fan of reaction videos but I must admit that yours are very cool, keep it up !!!
More to come! 🤩
You both seem to like Katarina
I'd be happy to tell she has her own comic (10 ep), the comic name is "Katarina"
And the comic is also a prequel of a single player rpg "the mageseeker" which has a great story set in demecia.
Can't wait to see the rest, I really loved the other Targon cinematic!
I'm pretty much a Tank Support main so Leona is one of my best champions.
Loving your LoL journey so far. More please!
Thanks for watching with us!! We’re having so much fun diving into the lore lol ❤️
"Odysseus" and "you really got me (Wild Rift)" are fun and cool. "Warriors (2020)" is really cool too.
I love Akali, I even have her official Splash-Art as an Artprint on my wall. She looks badass and the art is just amazing.
Another cool thing about Ionia is that it's pretty much the land of ninja and samurai & is also very spiritual which you've seen, and the land itself can kind of come alive/has a mind of its own.
I can confirm Garen's Demacian Justice ability is very good. It hits like a truck and does the best type of damage.
I love your videos. And S/O to the editor for side notes and cuts.
It might be a difficult video to make but I think y'all would love to read through Leona's and Diana's connection in lore.
Thank you for watching with us and supporting us! We love our editor and wouldn’t be able to dive into LoL without their guidance 😊❤️
More to come!! 🙏🏼
There's a video, I believe from Necrit, that explains future things we might see in the mmo that'll be made by Riot. In there, he explains about the nation very well.
31:30 they were togheter hehe
you guys really need to look at the season cinematics since they are always the "big thing" every year they do a very high quality cinematic for the new season they are the best animations riot does
It would be fun to watch your guys' reaction to the arcane characters' interactions in game (LOL) as well as the "Warriors" cinematic music video
There is a comic you can read about Shen, the teleporting neon light ninja from Ionia, made by Marvel btw.
I think you two will fall in love with KDA
Click so fast boiii!
LFGG!! ❤️
cant wait to see more!
(And overall gods are really present in the world as a whole)
Freljord has tribes like the nordic/vikings they fight each other too, but most because of their bloodlines not religion.
Cant wait to see next reactions!!
Garen's little sister is probably the most powerful magic user born in Demacia in an age or more, but instead of going to prison or an internment camp like any other mage does, because her family is powerful, she's heralded as the "light of Demacia."
In other words, both nations are right and both nations are wrong.
They should do some of the short form stuff next. Need to see fiddlesticks, warwick, and braum (trials of the poro is too adorable to pass up)
Garen ult
"That looks weak" xD I wish it was weak...it's actually one of the most broken abilities in the game, and Garen is also one of the most broken characters in the game.
25:10 And this is exactly why I was a little disappointed when I heard that the long awaited League of Legends show takes place in Piltover & Zaun of all places. But, since Arcane turned out to be amazing, just imagine what they can do with places like Ionia or the Shadow Isles.
Watch the call, warriors ,awaken and rise up you'll love them ☺️💯
Don't forget to react to champions voice lines after completing the cinematics, they give you insight of each champions and flesh out their characters.
Recommend you guys to also check the other season cinematic
New Dawn was 2016
( don’t watch 2023 because I personally don’t count that one, no champions or new music, just a camera view of in game league of legends map)
And I’m sure many others have recommended you Necrit’s MMO video, even though the video was aiming to show how much potential Runeterra is for an MMORPG game, Necrit made the video in a way that it works as a summarized introduction to the world building of Runeterra as a whole, I recommend his video first since it helps you understand where the champions are on sight when they are shown in the cinematic
2017- Legends Never Die
2018- The Climb
2019- Awaken
2020- Warriors
2021- Ruination
2022- The Call
2024- Still Here
How ever tales of runtera are nice, can’t wait for cinematic reaction, they are bests
Braum is one the best champs ever! "The heart is the strongest muscle", icone line!
AMÉ SUS REACCIONES CON JONIA!!! la conexión es única!!!
Happy Thursday Meesh and Dee! I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.
Happy Thursday big Rob!! 🫶🏼
the "ruined king" single player game picks up on the story where Yasuo and Ahri sail off. There is a really cool trailer worth checking out.
;) Maybe coming soon!
If you like Akali I recommend the KDA music videos. It’s an out of universe k pop band made out of different league champions
I highly recommend watching some of Necrit's videos. Specifically "The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done" it does an amazing job of introducing you to the regions of Runeterra and a little of their backstory. Also don't worry, you don't have to care about the MMO to watch the video.
Diana and Leona were lover once
You haven't seen the best ones yet. I can't wait!
You should check out "Tales of Runeterra: Bilgewater", "Tales of Runeterra: Shadow Isles" and "Call of the Mountain" - about Targon.
You caught Jace'y voice actor in the Targon cinematic but missed Vander's voice actor(Braum) in the Freljord cinematic ;)
Also I am sure the Targon cinematic would have been a lot better for you if you new the lore of the 2 aspects ;) Leona and Diana used to be in love but being chosen to be the aspect of sun and moon put them on opposite ends... the intense stare at the end is very remeniscing of both and how it could have been differently for them if they were brave enough to escape that duty (like the couple)...
Necrit's "the world of riot's mmo is already done" video is pretty good in terms of explaining the world and all regions.
When garen ults you, your screen literally SHAKES
Love this preview of what may come after arcane ;) so many amazing potential storylines they can explore. Noxus is the most likely though so hopefully see Darius soon. Also Samira is my favorite champ and she’s from Noxus as well yall will probably think she’s hot and badass haha
Demacia is known for being anti-mages and anti-magic in general. Noxus is known for their endless wars that expand their land. Freylord is cold and has a bunch of tribes fighting in a civil war.
If there was anyone in this game I'd want to have a beer with, it'd be Braum by a mile
Leona and diana are lovers but cannot be together because they’re the only ones who keep their “race” intact
Braum is the ultimate sweetheart and loved by all in the league universe
