The greatest thing about the movie in my opinion is that they didn't market the villains, they just put them as cameos and it was a nice surprise (unlike THAT other 4th movie)
Imagine if the 4th movie was about el machos son getting revenge on gru, like time skip to when hes like 17 or 20. What was his life after El macho is sent to the AVL, maybe hes now an orphan if his dad was his only parent???? idk
You can easily believe that Vector somehow made it back from Mars, but what bothers me more are the Minion villains looking like they did not age a bit at all... They still look as young as the day we saw them, even though decades have passed already. If characters like Nefario and Gru's mom aged, how come those villains didn't?

Comparing this movie to kung fu panda is absolutely criminal. At least kfp4 is mediocre. Probably a 6/10. My honest rating of despicable me 4 is 2/10. It's that bad.
Yeah, but they're both still very mid movies. DM4 should've been given room for something interesting instead of using the same formula, and KFP4 was the most biggest disappointment in it's own franchise.

Back when Minions 2 came out I think there used to be a joke theory of Mr Perkins cloning multiple Vectors. Despite being decades younger than Gru, Vector was shown in that movie too. Perhaps the one in prison is also another clone and not the one from the first Despicable Me 🤔
Cars 4 is gonna be mcqueen teaching cruz even more and then they have to face off against chick hicks francesco and storm and cruz somehow wins the whole thing
I felt it would have worked 10 times better as a series and without the mega minions. Have episodes be dedicated to certain subplots that tie up nicely in the end.
With how terrible series adaptations from animated movies are these days, I think it would have been forgotten quickly. The movie format works better for Despicable Me IMO.

They could've just made Dru as the villain. It was literally set up in the 3rd movie with him taking all the minions and said something along the lines of "someone's gotta keep the family's tradition". Make the brothers go back and forth with Dru doing evil stuff and Gru stopping him while exploring more on the family dynamic. And maybe hinting to vector returning for revenge in the post credit scene or something.
You already know this franchise might get a six or 10th movie within the franchise. Let’s be honest if you look at the box office for Despicable Me they’re able to to pull in millions to billions

Vector was just Thier so he can dance with the other villains they don't wanna explain it the writers create all kind of plotholes in despicable me and the minions spinoffs like in minions 1 it showed the minions finding gru after he froze scarlet overkill but in minions 2 a flashback contradicts that by the minions wanted to join gru cause they saw he put a help wanted ad and thats how they found his house and how they met the despicable me movies have too many plotholes and inconsistency
@@GrantKeegan yes it seems like the writers for the despicable me movies didn't think things through when they made these movies another plothole in the part with the villains in despicable me 4 is they showed belle bottom but she looks the same as when she looked in minions 2 and they movie took place in the 1960s or 70s so she should look really old by that point especially considering gru aged but she didn't seem to age maybe the chinese new year zodiac stone she used in minions 2 kept her from aging but who knows the writers need to get better at not making plotholes for these movies
i think this is a "whatever" kind of movie. illumination stopped caring about quality storytelling after the first despicable me. this fourth one was solely made just to pay the bills because minions produce cash.

Still enjoyable but easily the weakest one and not well written at all. The villain was plain and forgettable. Most of the film was eye rolling 6 year old humour. The middle was filler plot that goes no where. The overall story wasn't that entertaining. But I found the mega minions pretty fun and cool and I did find the villains return together was awesome to see.

Kung Fu Panda 4 was trash, it feels pretty dry, and the writting was mad lazy with excluding the Furious Five.
Kung Fu Panda was underwhelming and predictable, it did not live up to the first three movies and what those gave us.
