  • House X. There were so many uncertain things about this house and it`s location and why it is abandoned......There was something sad about this house. After leaving this house I could not stop thinking about it and I do not know why.

      Hey Marilou thanks for watching :-) I was recently back in this area and there was a 4x4 parked up near the front door, perhaps someone is now going to do something with it :-) Yes I would have open the other side windows too if needed for the bird to make it out :-)

    I have watched many videos of abandoned places with people complaining about the spider webs and you are the only one that had enough smarts to bring in a stick to clear out the spider webs. I love the house.

      Hey Patricia thanks so much for watching and your comments. Haha yes in a few of my videos I have my spider web stick! I`m quite tall and seem to find them if i do not clear them when i see them. In the summer in the long grass it is good to have a stick and tap it out in front of you on the ground because if there is any snakes that are lurking they will hopefully try and go the stick first. :-)

    Definitely an old peoples/assisted living home, it’s huge! Reminds me so much of big South African bungalows with the deep windows and lots of light. Would make a nice B&B actually. I didn’t get a creepy feel from this place to be honest, more a bit forlorn and needing life in it again! Great explore and thank you for letting the bird out!

    This is a really nice find. I hope that someone buys it and fixes it up before it gets too bad. It seems to have a lot of bedrooms and common areas. It looks like it's in a very rural area so maybe it could be for a large family, a small elderly care home, housing for developmently disabled people, shelter for abused women/children maybe, thanks for the explore.

      The house doesn't need to be destroyed. The spirits need to be asked to return to the light. A proper cleansing and blessing and she would be just fine. As a "magnet" I have helped many because they sense my perception. They are just lonely and confused not evil.

    Cool huge home, a shame doors were not at least shut to keep animals & bugs out. The intermittent music & still shots are nice. One bathroom had handicapped bars for the tub/shower, made me think the owner may have been elderly & deceased. Maybe no family wanted to keep it up or sell it. The yard looked large & would have seen a lot of life there w/family & friends over the years. Thanks & keep on keepin' on! 👍

Maybe just because it was so huge and almost cavenous and like a rabbit warren of small rooms and that never ending hallway. My thought is 30's original house with 70's Bessabrick built on and some 80's touches.Quite mysterious, left to rot, it seems. A shame. looks like it could house three families.

After the tobacco industry took a dive many farmers and ppl who lived and worked out on rural properties just left as there was no more industry. @blackberrybunny 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tom, I noticed those things too. Especially the light switches. It's so interesting to see how homes are built in other countries. I'm guessing Nick is in Australia.... Also, so interesting how the bathroom, the toilet that is, is often in it's own room, outside of the house itself. I'd hate to have to walk outside to use the bathroom, but there is usually always one of them inside as well. This outside toilet idea is great for when you are outside doing dirty work, like yard work, and you have muddy boots, but don't want to track mud to the inside. It's really a great idea!

    Wow. Just wow. A few cosmetic fixes and a new roof and insulation up there (the ceiling staining in the room that leads to the sliding doors and patio looks like critter pee) and that place could be totally livable! Amazing property, too. I would imagine it being in the more arid section of Australia. Yeah a bit more roof damage in the section of the old light sconces and some foundation settling. But other than the wicked ugly carpet not too much needs to be changed. Look at all the storage in that kitchen. It is a cozy wee kitchen. But all that natural light. Oh, I could love that house if I had the dosh. And since there is traffic noises it isn't too far from some sort of civilization. What a beauty. With all the housing needs world wide it is such a shame so many lovely places sit vacant. Have you seen this one more recently? Is she still there? Thanks for the explore and noticing an improvement in your camera techniques since then as this is 2 yrs old. Thanks for sharing, mate.

    Where was it located? I don't need GPS but you don't even say state or country making it seem less "abandoned" and more vacated and foreclosed or for sale. Not every person wants to come loot a place.

      Hey Melanie your are right, not everyone wants to loot or Vandalize but it only takes one to do the damage. This place was used as an aged care facility and was vacated around 2009. It falls on a large property with a very big homestead. The land owners probably cannot rent it out nor want to pay for its upkeep. :-)

Love the yard area though. In it's time I think this home had alot of potential. Take out alot of walls and open it up,, then it might look like something yea. Shame to let it go to waist.

      Hey Kimmie I was able to find out that this place was an aged care facility. If you watch the intro there is the name "Newbrae" on the front of the home which is a chain of aged care facilities. I`m going to dig up some more on it but it would be fair to say some elderly people would have died in this facility over the years.

    • @KimmiePatts
      @KimmiePatts 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for looking it up. You're probably right about some people passing on there if it was an aged care facility. It just creeps me out because at each turn you took while recording I kept expecting to see something jump out in front of you or see shadows of someone who's "not there" if you know what I mean? You are a brave person to go in to the place like you did. I'd be high tailing it out of there, lol.

    • @urbexindigo5164
      @urbexindigo5164  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi somedudeem8, no I could not even find an old newspaper in this one. So as far as date for last occupants i`d be guessing 5-10 years maybe? There were a lot of old sheds and other little add ons out the back i didnt get to go in too. :-)

    • @James-lq5zz
      @James-lq5zz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would agree 1950s build - eg earlier doors with 50s door knobs, metal window frames and air vents in the wall all from that era. Then renovated i would say in the mid to late 1970s - pattern carpet big giveaway, 70s style taps in the bathroom, 70s bathroom tiles and later doors with the opaque glass all fashionable in that period. Also I noticed it has the earlier style energy bulbs in some of the ceiling lights which came out after about 2005, so i would probably say abandoned around 10 years ago at a guess

    ok i have a theory, house is older than 70s. i think 1960 is closer to the correct date. house was never fully finished. ..km missing electric covers in several places. ....not bid enough to be a shelter not enouh bedrooms. i don't know why you didn't open any of that hallways closets.
    also shelving is not supported in main dressing room. which should have been for hanging clothes. obviously they had 1 child maybe 2 and possibly it was a grandparen or disabled parent raising the child. the house was possibly made with asbestos blocks. it was never properly sealed and was not painted. v the child's Ron had wooden does and only sheers. so the child probsbly wss sickly and most likely asthmatic. it is also possible that insulation contained ãsbestos. and even the foundation and roofing. many water lines back then contained asbestos also. i just see lots of clues i am not sure that they even got moved in
    i liked the huge back porch you entered thru. but it also looked unfinished
    if i were able to buy it. i would have all blocks and foundation sealed. new roof before it gets worse all new plumbing run. i would encase new plumbing externally and cut off and seal all existing pipes. municipal water checked to be sure it is safe and have an electrician double check electrical. i saw the wall heater. those were being phased out in late 50s

    • @urbexindigo5164
      @urbexindigo5164  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Avotts thanks for watching! :-) Yeah I thing about the 60`s too! The brick block walls definitely seemed a bit plain and not really finished with any color or anything. A most unusual "House !......"
    And its layout and fixtures suggest something I have seen before-- quite a few times !
    ..... I'll run the things I saw together, and let others form their own conclusions- or not- as to what I think this house might have been.
    First, the long corridor with bedrooms; each with lace curtains and full drapes- plus the multiple bathrooms with showers and bathtubs. Note the colours of the rooms- a lot of pink tones... all those mattresses ..........
    There's that end room with its lead'd glass window in the door, its heavy purplish drapes -- plus its has its own elaborate bathroom ---- with ( this is my best clue ) - a Bidet.
    The kitchen was very orderly, the house was clean and looked after-- it was definitely a woman-centre'd 'home'......
    Thank you for posting this !....
    A most excellent game of Clues !....... anyone think it might have been a .....................??

      Hey ana ixtar! I thought this family would have to be huge because it felt like a hotel with that hall way haha. It was still in great shape and to drive past it without looking too closely it could possibly seem occupied. I got the sense of a bit of sadness in there for some reason. There was a huge back yard section with sheds but I did not go in them. Thanks for watching! :-)

    • @karilynjaquest8739
      @karilynjaquest8739 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello ana ixtar. I really enjoy reading your comments. I have learned a lot from them. I thought with the hotel look to the place and the bathrooms that it may have been one of those discreet places where young women who found themselves "in the family way" back in the day would go to wait out their pregnancy before returning home "rejuvenated " after a stay in the country. Just a thought.

    • @anaixtar6793
      @anaixtar6793 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a good theory Karilyn ..! I have to confess I never thought of it, but its as good a fit as my off-the-wall Brothel idea. :)
      .
      I can't number the times I have been invited to inspect various old houses and been suddenly aware that " ....This was once a Parlor House !"--
      There are unmistakable signs that after years come out at me, and usually a check of the property's history (something like; it was listed as a 'boardinghouse" and the residence of a "Mrs." Sally Purple..) all but confirms it-- (Victorian/Edwardian proper ladies did not own property- at least outright and public.) Then there are subtle things like multiple enterances- customers do not want to pass thru waiting clients on their way out, -the large kitchen (these girls could eat after a 'full evening's work")--- but what really set off my Brothel radar was that Bidet-- in a bathroom a little too otherwise elegant for that setting.
      In Victorian London one house in Ten !! was some sort of 'working house'- in all manner of designs, functions and clientele. In the western US- mining and railroad towne's its fun to walk the old streets and see them, quite literally- pop out at you.
      You may find a Google of the Dumas Hotel in Butte Montana fun. It shows what a high and low class-both- "sporting establishment' was like- in this case, right up until quite recently.
      .
      But from now on I am going to also run a Home for Wayward Girls thru my mix .....:)

    • @happywife5644
      @happywife5644 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ana ixtar I have to agree with you! I’ve never been in one. But I can definitively say this wasn’t for monks🙈😂😂

    • @anaixtar6793
      @anaixtar6793 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Happy.. :)
      .
      Ahhh!, never *Knowingly* been in one- but the odds are you might have - though the signs became blurr'd over the years. Many of these 'houses' were converted long ago into more respectable homes--- but look for the signs....:)
      Like- in the western US, that cute little Victorian duplex, with the two side-by-side front doors.... a high class upgrade over the common 'crib'-- both girls sharing a wall for economy, friendship and security.
      Or a plain, proper front door and porch to present a air of respectablity to the street- but an ornate fancy back enterance -- discrete for the customers entry. Then there are the give-aways- a sink in every bedroom (Parlor houses and up scale houses usually)- signs of, or the actual call buttons still on the walls-- windows that were never intended to be opened....and of course, my favorite- the fancy house on the outskirts of towne, or across the railroad tracks near an old station.
      .
      Its fun to look at these in a different light--if for no other reason than it fills the imagination- and you may be right.... :)
      .
      I
