That's exactly what it is. It looks like something I have seen many times. My best friends dad built houses for a living and my dad was a part time carpenter and I have seen many houses that builders make for themselves using leftover material from actual builds. They make them weird Everytime just building with what they have in whatever they want and then they'll get bored or move and just leave a place only to build another. This seemed like a cool spot with great views and I am pretty sure someone had some really good times in that house.

This house is on the corner of Taft Rd. and SW 14th St. in Loveland, Colorado. It was bought in 2016, and is slowly being finished. People moved in and they’re completely the work very slowly. Even today, they’re still working on it. I’ve always wanted to see this house. Thank you!
Reminds me of a smaller version of The Winchester Mystery House in California. The rooms seemed randomly placed and the entire layout somewhat circuitous.
I love old style architecture, and fancy romantic-era architecture (among others) too. Hard to find people with that liking, it seems everyone these days just LOVES bland, black/gray/white buildings with a floor plan so open it doesn't even feel like a cozy house ... Hideous things they are! Looks like this house would have been really nice if they actually finished it!
I like it too. Although I'd make a few changes like changing one pair of bedrooms into a single bigger bedroom with a big closet. I'd probably open it up in s few places as well. And that weird cubby area over things. I'd add some doors, probably hidden ones, then make it a storage area. As for the unusable garage I'd probably just build a gravel driveway or get a 4x4 and use it as a garage. Or I would turn it into a great big craft room/workshop area.
Same here! With the exception of adding a butt load of big closets and of course finishing all of it off..the only changes I would honestly make are 1:. Putting fireplaces back in, and 2: tearing down a wall and making that kitchen huge
The problem with this house is the location and layout. It would take $150,000 to make it somewhat livable and then you have to deal with it being on a very busy four lane road, right next to commercial and a very strange lot with a dangerous cliff. Once you fixed the house I don't see anyone who would pay the price needed to make any money
It's going to take more than a creative mind to fix that place. The clean up alone is going take quite a bit of time. And whomever bought it I would imagine regrets it. Maybe if the land is worth more than they paid they might do alright.
That whole place doesn't feel like it was necessarily meant to be a home. If that can be rezoned commercial as next door, it would make a great multi-doc or other type of office building with plenty of parking, lots of exposure on a busy road, room for another building, etc. Seems that could make it into a million+ dollar property.....
No, they were filmed in my last neighbor hood in Chatsworth, California. I am actually not joking about that either. It was one of the most frequent neighborhoods that porno films were made in.
raimey ewens P.S. The movie “Alpha Dog” was filmed on the street that I lived on two houses ago. My house was four doors down from the main character’s house. It is in Porter Ranch, Ca.. If you have to live in Los Angeles County, Porter Ranch is one of the best places to live. So is Chatsworth. I do however, like living in Idaho far better. There are less idiotic people there.
I’ve driven by this house so many times over the years and have been so curious so thank you for touring it! Too bad I don’t have unlimited money to update this house because the views are truly amazing.🤩
My mother, who has been dead many years now, had a "project house" sort of like this one.. Not quite as large, but was not completed when she sold it after my stepfather died and she came to live where my family is. The one thing I was always amazed about was that she had a "vision" of what she wanted, but I don't think it was entirely feasible, sort of like having an imaginary friend. I have seen several homes of people just like her though. This house made me think of her house and the 'craziness" of it all.
Funny thing is it was sold. I can't believe it was over $420,000. I wonder how much the final price will be after the new owner finishes the construction. That sure doesn't look like a simple one-month task!
Wow, I'm dizzy from all the twist and turns, lol. This house actually had some cool details. The tile work on the entry floors and another room is creative. I actually like the crazy rails on the stair case. The rooms & ceilings were massive so much could be done with home, but it would cost millions
Yes the retaining wall definitely looks newer than the house. I imagine they widened the road to deal with increased traffic to the area for all the new businesses. The parking and bridge are strange but it was probably a compromise they made with the city/state for the road construction.
It’s a tear-down. You might salvage some of it, but the lot itself is dangerous because it’s a bowl and could flood. You could jack parts of the house up, but who knows if it’s sound enough to hold together. Too much mold! Set aside some of the framed walls and build a good foundation, then see if they can be worked into an architectural plan. Use the salvaged tile outdoors. Some good medallions worth saving.
It could be that someone was trying to build a large group home, or cult style setting. No closets equals more space for gatherings etc in the already huge rooms. Or, maybe they were just nuts.🤣 Instead of the Winchester, they were building the „Sinchester!“ 🤣
This video kept being recommended to me by youtube, but for a long time I didn't watch it because the title just seemed like 'clickbait'. I was wrong; your title is absolutely true! The guy(s)/people that did this had to be nucking futs!!! lol
Okay if you were say 8 and you wanted to play hide and seek this would be the coolest house ever! I sincerely think no architect was consulted on this, uhm, design? Sure, let's use that but still in some odd, eccentric way, it's flipping awesome
Okay, so I think this was created as some kind of crazy 70s sex party space. All the rooms with no closets, the crazy carpets, unexplained areas... I'm picturing big circle beds in white leather. :D
That is EXACTLY what I was thinking !!!!! All of the bathrooms, and crazy sitting spaces. All I could think about was how perfect for the movie, Boogie Nights lol ! Def a sex house.
Crazy this video popped up on my feed! Lived down the street from this place for over 3 years and drove passed it all the time. I always wondered about the garage! Always saw cars parked out by the road and wondered where the driveway was!
I kinda disagree. Sarah Winchester was told by her personal psychic that the only way to cheat Death was to keep the house under construction and never stop. That's why it's so random and insane on inside and outside. And yes, there are some rooms that you can't enter because of boobytraps she designed. For example, one is clever: you're on the third floor and a skylight overhead floods the room with sunlight. When the sun is at a certain angle, the shadows disguise the fact that there is no floor! One step and you fall two stories into the kitchen! That was the only boobytrapped room they let us walk through. It was blocked with a barricade for safety of course.
This would have been such a green house with a lot of decorative wood on the walls. The renovating owner probably deemed it too 70s, messed up the place and took on more than they could chew on. 3:05 nice sunny turrent sky bar, perfect for a couple of leather seats and your favourite beverage, 3:16 divided from the living kitchen by a planter; 5:34 a great shelf for potted plants and a large planter for your hanging garden; 5:54 nice hook for some macrame planters and large windowsills to put some more potted plants on; 6:08 autumn forest wood mural to really get that nature feeling inside; 6:12 wooden shingles on the upper and stone strips on the lower level wall; 6:25 a cosy seating pit or converation pit with an open, see through fire place; 7:07 direct access to an outside door, so they could get a sun tan in the garden; that door possibly led to a small deck and staircase, 7:26 which might have caused the lighter colour on the outside wall; 7:14 planters in front of the windows around the bubble bath...
I was in a house that belonged to the McCormick Tractor family and half the house was leopard print carpet and a velvet wallpaper what was embossed with the house's crest.
I think this house is great. Nothing wrong with a staircase in a living room. Lots of chill out areas... We all don't like the same thing. Be a boring world if we did !
I loved all those sort of chill out areas and landings...they would make excellent little reading areas. I'd turn that loft next to the stairs into a long library and place a few comfortable chairs or chaises there.
That plce is pretty awesome! Needs to be finished/repaired obviously and put allll the fireplaces back!!! I like all those crazy little sitting rooms!!
I think its pretty neat. Its kind of dizzy feeling with the camera going thru it but its all up to someone who doesnt want a traditional home. I loved the iron work because it want different and really cool. I guess its up to the eye of the beholder . Lots of work and money to finish it.
The big thing in the 70s was to build your own home. Every man's dream at the time. The codes were not strictly enforced back then. I know several men that built a home back then. Some men finished their homes, some didn't. My father even bought land and drew up several designs for a cabin, but, he was too busy and lived to far from the property, so he sold the land and gave up on the idea. It was kinda a fad back then. These custom builds all had lots of inside wood, lots of windows, intimate seating areas, and hand made original decor.
Yup. My dad was the same story. He always wanted to build a home that was steps down a hillside. Crazy stupid idea, but he drew and redrew plans. If he had built it, we'd be watching it on TH-cam.
This address is registered to a B2B Direct Response Copywriter business owned by Clarke Echols. Clarke has a bio. on this page stating that he was a broadcast engineer for some time which might explain the speaker cabinets on the walls of the windowed room. He goes on to talk about how he and his wife had nine children and needed a larger home. "That meant a bigger home. We couldn't afford what we needed, so I built one for us. My labour meant I could invest more in material instead of borrowing to pay someone else's labour, followed by paying finance charges on that labour for decades in the future. Saving several hundred thousand dollars for four years' part-time work in the 1970s is a huge pay-back! We had bought a lot for $25 down and $25 per month because that's all we could afford at the time. We started the home when I was making $1200 per month. When it reached its final form, it was over 8,000 square feet in size, on 1.5 acres." www.clarkeechols.com
Thank you for the summary. I am amazed you were able to sift through his site and find any sensical information. I tried the link you provided and slogged through a few paragraphs (if they could be called such) before giving up with a migraine. Not only was the web "design" dated to the early 90s, but the bio was so poorly written, that if presented to a high school English teacher, they would be forced to consider one of three options; 1) student extremely lazy, failing grade 2) student on drugs, contact parent/guardian, principal, possibly police 3) student having psychotic break, contact parent/guardian Said hypothetical teacher would be praying for option 1 or even 2. They're easier to fix than option 3.
I love it... I don't know why but it really appeals to me, all those different sized rooms you could really do some really wacky things in there.. Would love to know who built it and why it was never finished...
It feels like it was intended for an almost “Brady bunch” oversized family and I suspect at the time the lot was a lot larger and the elevations and street were laid out differently. You said this was in the 70s correct? Weren’t there a lot of ambitious housing development projects in the 70s that ended up going broke? I vaguely remember a teen angst movie set in that time period that had a group of teens that hung out in one of those abandoned sites. Anyway that’s the vibe I got from the house that is was multifamily or multigenerational type house. As far as no closest that could have simply been a lifestyle choice to forgo the complications of putting a closest in every room and instead relying on wardrobe furniture. I know of at least one household that gutted all the children’s rooms closests, converting them into entertainment centers/book shelves/ work desks. And rely on a single walk-in closet off the hallway for all their children’s clothing that require hangers . As far as this house is concerned I can see using landscaping to screen out the outside world on the front side of the house, flipping the garage access to the backside of the house, putting in drainage to prevent flooding and turning this house into a great house to host the family Christmas party etc. Whether or not the cost would be worth it or the neighborhood hood is good enough is another question. I’m guessing if there are all sorts of old tires in this lot that have been there for over 30 years the neighboring houses can’t be all that great.
In my opinion, house prices will continue down as people leave the state and prices correct due to market pressure. The problem with Florida is the property taxes increased based on the boom and the cost or inability to obtain homeowners insurance. Florida's in for a rough 5 years imo.
A lot of folks have been going on about the bull rally and said stocks that would be experiencing significant growth, any idea which stocks this may be? I just sold my home in the Boca Grande area and I’m looking to remunerate a lump sum into the stock market before stocks rebound, is this a good time to buy or no?
Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumors and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of a broker, before I started seeing any significant results in my portfolio, been using the same Adviser and I’ve scaled up 750k within 2 years, whether a bullish or down market, both makes for good profit, it all depends on where you’re looking.
This house is a complete mess, but it also has massive potential to become amazing. I would say your look another 200 to 300 thousand dollars to bring it up to speed. Ideas are bouncing around on what can be done here and I'm actually really excited visioning everything. That backyard can be so sick. I just wished it wasn't near such a busy road. Good luck man and I hope for the best.
It's like some scatterbrained novice who had no idea what he/she was doing ran into some money, decided to build a house then got distracted by meth, went broke and/ or ran from police & ditched the project.
I personally like that house. Has a whole lot of potential. With a good architect and Carpenter you could turn it into a beautiful house. Because the house is looks very large and can be made more functional without destroying it.
That's exactly what it was Stewart Trenchard I am a 60's flowerchild and I saw hundreds of places like this never lived in one but the commune houses were the thing by the time the 70's came around
Ya I don't think its, weird or s scary. I'm thinking maybe they were really gonna go some place with it .but maybe ran out of money .t hats the thoughts I get.
The house has soooo much potential, but have to check the pipes etc to see if it would be worth buying.. gonna be spending alot of money to restore it as well.i would use it as a women's child's shelter. Or a in home daycare.
As a firefighter I have to say this house would be a nightmare. Search and rescue would be next to impossible. Also a good chance of getting lost in this thing when it’s full of smoke and no lights because the power has been disconnected.
WOW I am a mosaic artist and have done some pretty crazy mosaic work on the walls and YES toilets in my house but nothing like this crazy mixed up stuff. Like who ever was doing this was like"Oh Look Squirrel" kind of person. At least mine is cohesive. What a shame to put so much work into a place that is so awful. As you say no matter how cheap to buy you still have nothing but a big mess on your hands. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely gorgeous. The layout is genius. 70s was a time for lavish parties. This home provides 5 seperate entertainment spaces far enough from the bed rooms. Which maintains privacy during parties especially if there were kids. You can tell at one time there was a dirt drive to the garage its just been overgrown. The small upper level in the kitchen would have been a bar/card room. There would have been a small eat in kitchen table and the "weird" room with the punch out wall would have been the formal dining.

I love weird houses and I would live in that house if was fixed up.
And I would LOVE to fix it up =D
Allison Jae me too Allison😀 must be our name😆😀😇
Benjamin Esposti and lots of concrete, random ugly silver vases, giant windows, and everything sleek.
I've had dreams similar to the inside of this house
I would've LOVED to see this thing flipped. Like a detailed "This Old House" style series.
😍😍😍 ummmm is it wierd that I love unique homes like this? Especially from the 70's and 80's!!
I do too, but this one was beyond weird.
Same here! With the exception of adding a butt load of big closets and of course finishing all of it off..the only changes I would honestly make are 1:. Putting fireplaces back in, and 2: tearing down a wall and making that kitchen huge
Same here. I think it's awesome.
I would love to see this house fully repaired.
It would cost more to fix the place then the price to buy it.
Yes!
But still cheaper than tryna buy a home in sydney or auckland. Ill take it in a heartbeat
it's insane how i have to search for like half an hour every time i want to watch this, seems like youtube has really censored it from results
Really? The views have gone way down. I wonder why they did that
@@investfourmore it seems like no combinations of "weird/strange/odd house tour" finds this, TH-cam works in crazy ways
That house is haunted. I have no proof other than a gut feeling.
"Nice visibility down to the.... Garage below" 😂😂😂
I actually like this house, I can see the potential!!!!
But if we had hard rains it would flood. It's built in a ditch
Me too
I agree. My father, my brother and I could spend the next couple of years fixing this place right up.
@@elderlypoodle9181 yes I was thinking that as well I can see where the hard work would bring anyone to the point of giving up.
are you a magician?
I would love to have a home like this one (finished, of course) Love the layout, especially the unorthadox style of the floor plan!!
Gonna go build this in The Sims! Attempt.
If I were lucky enough to have money to burn I would totally buy and renovate that house. I think it has a lot of potential.
This is an unbelievable diamond in the rough! Just use your creative imagination, it can be turned into a very unique, desirable home!
Being built in such a low spot, I imagine a huge mess if a lot of rain came. So sad to see such potential wasted.
I agree derreck i love weird layouts, i know its strange but i'd rather have a weird house than a cookie cutter house
Looks like a house they use to film old porno movies in 🤷🏻♀️
No, they were filmed in my last neighbor hood in Chatsworth, California. I am actually not joking about that either. It was one of the most frequent neighborhoods that porno films were made in.
I was thinking the same thing 🤣
raimey ewens P.S. There are less idiotic people there.
orange carpet lol so so 70's... I get the 70's las Vegas cocaine fueled 'lounge lizard' feel to it
Be an EXCELLENT Horror movie set up 😂.
I’ve driven by this house so many times over the years and have been so curious so thank you for touring it! Too bad I don’t have unlimited money to update this house because the views are truly amazing.🤩
Where is this house? Is it still there? Has anyone started a rehab on it?
Ya, where is this house located? Address!
This house made me think of her house and the 'craziness" of it all.
in the right hands this house would have a lot of potential
This is actually such a beautiful house. It’s crazy! It goes against the norms of everything!
I think this one could fix up beautifully!
Funny thing is it was sold. I can't believe it was over $420,000. I wonder how much the final price will be after the new owner finishes the construction. That sure doesn't look like a simple one-month task!
Rewatching in 2022. Those tires are a premonition of things to come.
haha
Wow, I'm dizzy from all the twist and turns, lol. This house actually had some cool details. The tile work on the entry floors and another room is creative. I actually like the crazy rails on the stair case. The rooms & ceilings were massive so much could be done with home, but it would cost millions
Those carpets look like 60s-70s colours. Maybe the road layout was different back then and they had a functional driveway.
Could be
Yes the retaining wall definitely looks newer than the house. I imagine they widened the road to deal with increased traffic to the area for all the new businesses. The parking and bridge are strange but it was probably a compromise they made with the city/state for the road construction.
it looks like the scale model houses we built in the high school wood working shop .
A rambling incoherent mess.
That’s what I was thinking. High school project. Teaching kids construction
OMG looks like a mine craft home.
lol....
Exactly.
The guy(s)/people that did this had to be nucking futs!!! lol
Im getting dizzy watching this lol
JustForJean ikr?
I am actually nauseous right now! For real.
I stopped watching after 1 minute. Total lack of video skills.
+Jeff J ~Mr. Expert Oh yeah, like to see you video better😈!
Okay if you were say 8 and you wanted to play hide and seek this would be the coolest house ever! I sincerely think no architect was consulted on this, uhm, design? Sure, let's use that but still in some odd, eccentric way, it's flipping awesome
I'd live there!!
Could spend the rest of my life fixing it up, then just pass it on to my most eccentric kid 😉
The upstairs room off the kitchen is a breakfast nook
Okay, so I think this was created as some kind of crazy 70s sex party space. All the rooms with no closets, the crazy carpets, unexplained areas... I'm picturing big circle beds in white leather. :D
😂🤣😂🤪
That is EXACTLY what I was thinking !!!!! All of the bathrooms, and crazy sitting spaces. All I could think about was how perfect for the movie, Boogie Nights lol ! Def a sex house.
@Duke Of Prunes lol! They still exist...
@Duke Of Prunes One of them here in town kept getting busted over and over again...it made the news every time! Lol
Crazy this video popped up on my feed! Lived down the street from this place for over 3 years and drove passed it all the time. I always wondered about the garage! Always saw cars parked out by the road and wondered where the driveway was!
Like the Winchester mystery house
Isn't that the infamous haunted mansion that the rooms also supposedly change and rearrange themselves in?
The things I would do to this house. It’s friggin amazing!
I was mad he didn't go in the room next to the hot tub portal thingy.
It looks like it would have been cool modernized
That plce is pretty awesome! Needs to be finished/repaired obviously and put allll the fireplaces back!!! I like all those crazy little sitting rooms!!
Oh no I couldn’t live there. Too many cracks and crevices. I would
Have to check all those hiding places before I went to bed each night.
I need to see this house and what it looks like now. 🤩
I think its pretty neat. Its kind of dizzy feeling with the camera going thru it but its all up to someone who doesnt want a traditional home. I loved the iron work because it want different and really cool. I guess its up to the eye of the beholder . Lots of work and money to finish it.
Looks like it could be a cool house with the right renovations... like, there is room for a dance/yoga studio!!
I could also see a recording studio in there!
Yes to the studio and dance/yoga spaces!!!
Indoor pool / spa, gym in the lower level. Movie theater. Lots of possibilities.
Hey Mark, can you revisit this house? Did anything ever get done with it? I think this is the first video I saw of yours and it got me hooked lol.
THere is a business there I think. I shot a video a while back of the outside. I will post it to my story
"This is the beautiful kitchen" as a sarcasm aficionado I loved that.
When it reached its final form, it was over 8,000 square feet in size, on 1.5 acres."

N/ A Amazing detective work!
Nice thanks for the information.
His website is as jumbled as that house
Amazing sleuthing. You should be a private detective.
Thank you for the summary. I am amazed you were able to sift through his site and find any sensical information. I tried the link you provided and slogged through a few paragraphs (if they could be called such) before giving up with a migraine.
Not only was the web "design" dated to the early 90s, but the bio was so poorly written, that if presented to a high school English teacher, they would be forced to consider one of three options;
1) student extremely lazy, failing grade
2) student on drugs, contact parent/guardian, principal, possibly police
3) student having psychotic break, contact parent/guardian
Said hypothetical teacher would be praying for option 1 or even 2. They're easier to fix than option 3.
This fucking house makes my brain hurt. It's like it was designed by some 3 year old in crayon who then told his rich dad to have it built.
What in the 1970's murder mansion is this? 😳🤔
Lol
Best comment I've seen yet!! Lol
lol. I got the same feels lol
Yea I was totally creeped out. Kept waiting for him to discover something gory as he was entering random areas 😬
🤣
I love it... I don't know why but it really appeals to me, all those different sized rooms you could really do some really wacky things in there.. Would love to know who built it and why it was never finished...
1:08 ish
"I don't understand anything." That cracked me up.
I think I've had a bad dream with this house in it!! Couldn't get out!
lol
Hahaha - I love the comments in this thread. Along with that hideosity, it's making my evening!
Could you kindly elaborate on the advisor's background and qualifications?
Thank you for the lead. I searched her up, and I have sent her a message. I hope she gets back to me soon
Would love to see how it looks after a renovation!
i feel like someone just built a house to make an extravagant building without actually thinking about how it would function as a house
Strike3 yeah that busy road is a huge turn off...other than that it could be a fun project
Reorient the house and put a tall fence or wall by the road. Put a grand entrance in the back by the “weird” stairway.
This was obviously someone's dream house...like literally.
It's like some scatterbrained novice who had no idea what he/she was doing ran into some money, decided to build a house then got distracted by meth, went broke and/ or ran from police & ditched the project.
I kid you not...I had a dream about this house bout a month ago. Absolutely everything in my dream is here!!!
I was lost when you took your first right lololo
haha
That is the most insane house I've ever seen. OMG!
Omg! This house was still for sale a few months ago... I looked at the pics online and said nope! Super cheap now if I remember...
What's the address?
It's amazing I drive by this house everyday and I never knew what was hiding inside.
Sean Griffith what state is this house in????
@@emmadretzka6443 It's in Northern Colorado
This reminds me of the house in the movie, the money pit
Yes, but worse!
Eric D that was a good movie, I love it !
Eric D hahahahaha LMAO
Ya I don't think its, weird or s scary. I'm thinking maybe they were really gonna go some place with it .but maybe ran out of money .t hats the thoughts I get.
Everyone involved with this house was stoned out of their minds!
I kept expecting something to pop out of the darkened corners. It reminded me of the Blair Witch Project.
It could be absolutely beautiful! There are some really odd little spaces; I'd love to ask the original owner for their input 😊
Mark did this property ever sell? do an update on this home, since it is so unusual.
Yes it did. They did a little work to the otisde. Who knows on the inside
