Marriage by the word has meaning more beyond just being partners. So, like others normal couples also have a right to protect their dignity. If there are legal issue for the other gender, an alternate term other than the word marriage can be thought of so that their interests are protected and the existing normal also do not feel intruded. Fight is more for the word "Marriage' than anything else. Just make an alternate arrangement rather than coming into conflict.

The problem with a separate word to refer to the union between an alternative couple is that it will eventually be relegated to an inferior status. The concept of "separate but equal" is just that, a concept. It never translates into practice.

@allaboutpets946 the moment court will legalize same sex marriage, next PIL they will file for child adoption followed by Property inheritance .. and so on and then real problem will come.

Men and women are equal in dignity but are different and complementary and reach at the fullness. A child who lacks mother or father will lack the full care of both parents. A man can't replace a woman and vice versa.

And nothing can replace those who embrace their ignorance.
The LGBTQ community has a long recorded history in Ancient India due to the prevalence of the accepting Hindu spiritual traditions and cultures across the subcontinent, with a turbulent period following Islamic Turkic rule and Christian European colonialism that introduced homophobic and transphobic laws, thus criminalizing homosexuality and transsexuality.

Its shameful or sin that we destroy human feeling. If you're not belong to lbgt community will you not marry? Marriage is between two persons love is love why we discriminate against? If you are straight you will be married a straight person and if they let them have their own right 💟

Marriage is a social construct my friend, not just about stopping someone's right,
they are given the ight to come in a union with almost all the benefits of a marriage, what problem do you have in coming in a union? why is it more of a word play, then just fighting for rights, you've got your right ,be happy with it, don't fight for the name of marriage. Marriage is not just among two people, but a union is.
then one day you'll start asking for rights for incest
and as SC said its far-fetched.

The Court did its best imo. Many legal rights were given and wills may be written down subjectively. That said, Judiciary can never change the word of the law. Basically, thank God Art. 16 doesn't use Gender 😂😂.
The next opportunity for the Queer community would be the BJP UCC, where basic changes in the definition can resolve most of the problems. This should go bipartisan in five or so years.

@@Prakhar_Kumar00 In a liberal democracy, you have a right to protect your dignity as long as it doesn't take away from the freedom of others. I read that same-sex marriage is a "fundamental right". If you look at it that way, then you are asking taxpayers to *"fund a mental"* and immoral relationship.
The term itself--same sex union--sounds contradictory.
