Need to replace the auto folding mirror of my Honda fit 2016, when going to order the mirror, there seems 2 parts showing up in the system, one is the mirror unit and other is mirror unit with comfort pack ?. which one should be ordered ?. I believe comfort pack is the switches on the driver side door to fold and adjust the mirror, please guide.
From memory you're correct in the comfort pack being the folding type, possibly heated too. If going through a garage I'd simply state your mirror is folding or not and request they order the part. As dealers usually ask for the VIN number of the car anyway you can guarantee the correct part coming. If ordering online yourself I'd find a site where you enter your registration number, this again should list parts fitted just to your car. I use Eurocarparts.com for this and once I have the part number required I just find the cheapest supplier. I know this isn't probably the answer you want but it's the best way to have some certainty of getting the correct part. I hope this is of some help.
@@chandysherinOk. Well there are 2 different size connectors for the 2 different types. One is grey/black, the other white. You'll need the same as fitted in this video which I think was white. In fact, mine has number E4 012275 stamped underneath of both the right and left mirrors, some of that might be a colour code but if you take a look at yours the number their might help the dealer identify it.
Hi, Sorry for the late reply, I don't know how I missed this. From when I was looking I found there were 2 different types of connector. Not all of the same type of connector had the power fold option, I think it depends on what the car was ordered with. As long as the connector is the same as the one removed all the functions you had previously will work. Obviously it's not going to work the other way where a non power fold mirror will magically become power folding just because the one originally fitted to the car was. I hope you've sorted it already, but felt I had to reply anyway.
I bought my mirror unit from a breakers yard on Ebay. Now from memory, the only removable cover is the thin one surrounding mirror itself. If any other part of the coloured areas need replacing it really is a whole item replacement that you'd need. It isn't so much of a coloured cover, it's the actual body of the mirror assembly itself. I hope this helps.
Excellent work with the video and instructions. Thanks
