  • This is a review of the Astro A30 Wireless. The first Astro headset under the Logitech brand. This is an awesome headset with a "platform agnostic" design which means it'll work with all sorts of devices. It has both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless as well as 3.5mm. It also has both a boom mic and built-in mics, so you have options there!
I'm using the microphone for the voice over of the video, so you get an idea of what that's like immediately.

Specs of the Astro A30 wireless include:
    20-20,000 Hz frequency response
    105 dBSPL/mW @1 KHz characteristic SPL
    32Ohms nominal impedance
2.4 GHz Lightspeed connection, Bluetooth and 3.5 mm
USB-A dongle and optional USB-C dongle
    Built-in and removable boom mic
    Highlights for me:
    Comfort
    Excellent passive noise cancellation
Works well in dual audio mode
Sounds great for gaming and music
    Looks fantastic
    Good clamping force
    Lowlights:
Ears can get a bit hot
Mic isn't as good as others I've tried

@@jamesstevens968 I’ve had mine for about a week and I will agree that the sound is phenomenal. However, I do have a major gripe when it comes to comfort. There’s basically no padding on the headband and I find the top of my head gets fatigued much faster. I could wear my A50s for about 3 hours before feeling that same fatigue. But the A30s I’m feeling that fatigue/discomfort after 45 min or so.

For $230 that boom microphone is really bad. It sounds better without it on my opinion. Still these are $230 plus you have to buy a second dongle to have full compatibility on PS5 and Xbox. That makes it $250 which I don't see what it's doing better than the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7x or TB Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max do for cheaper.

    • @WhiteHartMart
      @WhiteHartMart ปีที่แล้ว

Agree. I have the SS Nova 7x and these also. The A30s are going back. The SS are £60 cheaper here, work on both consoles with no additional dongle and do a lot of things better. The A30 sound a little better out of the box although the SS can be eq’d anyway.

@@WhiteHartMart Yeah the A30. I’m familiar with SS as a long term user. But I also really like the Astro sound profile and if with EQ can make it even better, I might try the A30, but I just can’t justify £230

The Astro have a thicker more bass orientated sound, the Nova 7x more focused on mids/highs imo. The Nova have plenty of eq options though while the A30 only has a 5 band option (which didn't even work for me). Depends on what type of sound you prefer I guess but Nova wins for me.
